> 3 dayBroke after about 5 months. Just wouldnt turn on one day. Was not dropped or knocked. Just burnt out or something. I thought this one should last longer.

> 3 dayvery efficient heat source. we have an outdoor cat that weve adopted (cannot have a cat in the house due to my severe allergies). I figured if we are going to take care of the cat well do it right. build an insulated cat house and installed one of these in a Bayco Brooder Clamp Light. Covered the front of the Clamp Light carefully with chicken wire to keep the cat from the heat source. On the coldest winter nights in the Northeast the inside of the cat house was at the low sixty degree mark. Cant speak to the life of the bulb but it did last from December to March with daily use. UPDATE 3/2016 got through a second winter with the bulb and its still going strong.

> 3 dayThe bulb was working good for a few months but then i started smelling a burning rubber smell that was coming from the bulb. I had to throw it away to avoid the risk of fire. My tortoises did love the heat while it did work though.

> 3 dayBought this to use in my chicken coop in place of the actual heat lamps because those keep the chicks up all night... My coop is 10 x 6 and it didnt work very well for a coop that size.. Im guessing it would be best for reptiles..

> 3 dayI thought for 100watts it would have been hotter but it is not. Im assuming the emitter is working but I cant tell. I know it is warm I just thought it would feel warmer.

> 3 dayI purchased this back in March of 2013 to be used in a fermentation chamber for home brew. I took an old 22-cubic foot chest freezer and installed this with a dual stage temperature controller that would assure me a consistent ambient temperature for my primary, secondary and bottle conditioning fermentation phases. Just this past weekend the original heat emitter passed away - almost three years to the day. I figure that we got close to over 15,000 hours of use (warming the fermentation chamber to approximately 72 degrees.) We definitely got our moneys worth and I just purchased a new one that arrived today. Hopefully itll last this long as well.
