Safety 1st Magnetic Cabinet Locks, 4 Locks + 1 Key

> 24 hourWe bought these for our gun cabinet and even a grown adult cannot open the doors. On the longer door we had to use two locks because with enough force the bottom part of the door opens a bit but on the smaller doors there is no way it will open without the magnet. If its adult proof it sure will be toddler proof. PROS: Lock is hidden unable to try to pick it or open with just any magnet. CONS: Instructions on how to install.

> 24 hourTough installation but once their up, they work great. Kinda a pain to search for a magnetic key when we have them on so many doors but, baby proofing is always a pain.

> 24 hourI consider myself pretty handy, especially for a woman. I have been assembling most of our furniture at home, including our kids bunk bed, our dining set, etc... When our son turned 12 months old and was climbing over the gates, we knew it was time to baby proof our kitchen. For our cabinets that were parallel to each other, we just purchased the knob locks, but for the individual cabinet doors, we purchased this. The instructions that came with it was very vague (especially the sticker method), so I ended up just ditching it and using my common sense -- use the tape measure/ruler to mark the screw holes. It took me 2 hours to finish all four cabinet doors, and I have never installed anything so frustrating before until I installed these. When they were finally installed, they worked great.

> 24 hourThese things are great. We have a 6 month old who is just starting to get around. We have done our in a different brand that did not have the ability to leave the drawers and cabinets unlocked.. These are even better. We use my parents as a babysitter. They dont need all of their cabanents locked all the time so it is nice to be able to turn them off when our daughter is not around. They install really fast. I found a great installation video on youtube. I also love how you can choose to turn the lock off without it my parents would not have let me cover their house with these things.

> 24 hourThese locks work well. I like that little one cant get her fingers pinched. The flexibility over other brands to install the lock at the top or side of the cabinet door is nice. Installation was a challenge. On our cabinet, the installation template didnt work. I ended up drilling 3 sets of holes on the first door. I figured out that I shouldnt use the template to determine the placement of holes on the door.

> 24 hourOur little guy has finally discovered the magical world of cupboards which made us realize additional kid proofing was needed. I tried to install the hook-latch-push down to open-thingys. Yeah, those suck pretty bad. No matter what I did I couldnt get those things to work because of physics. They might work in a parallel universe with parallel universe cupboards but not in this universe. The reviews for all the other options were mixed at best. However these got great reviews. So we decided to try these out. Are they more expensive? Yes...yes they are. Do they work awesome? Yes...yes they do. These lock the cupboard nice and tight. No chance for smashing little fingers, or weaseling something harmful out of the cupboard. The only way to open these is to use the included magnetic key (however any strong magnet will work). I love that you can disable the locks if needed returning your cupboards essentially to pre-rugrat glory. The only downside is forgetting the cupboards are locked which could potentially result in a dislocated shoulder. Oh right...locked. Okay, okay...not that bad but realizing your cupboards are locked takes some getting used to. There have been times when finding the key took a few minutes. So investing in a few extra might be smart. As others have mentioned, the fridge is a GREAT place for the key. As an alternative, hidden in your sons toy basket can be fun too. If you have anything other than flat front doors the magnet key might end up in a weird place. Ours for example ends up on an angle because it rests on a router bevel in the door. No big deal, it just looks a bit weird. Beyond these few small issues we love these. Installation can be tedious but not nearly as bad as the aforementioned plastic-hook monstrosities. Have a baby? Want to keep him/her safe? Buy these. :)

> 24 hourWho knew a child-proof latch could be so much fun? They were easy to install and a pleasure to use because theyre so clever. Note that its no longer necessary to blind drill a nearly 3/8 diameter hole; just two small screw holes need to be drilled into the cabinet face. The provided templates make installation much easier than it otherwise would be - very clever. I only wished that this product could be made to work on the drawers in my house.

> 24 hourWe are very pleased with these magnetic locks. They can be a bit involved to install, but once theyre in, then they are very simple to use. The manufacturer was kind enough to include a sticky guides to make the installation a little easier, but when you are installing so many of them - it gets a bit exhausting. The only other disappointment I had was that we could not install these locks in a few of our ikea drawers as the locks were too big to fit the space; as a result, we had to improvise with other locks. In the end, I would (and have) recommend these to as many friends as possible!

> 24 hourLoved how easy it was to install and that you can leave it in the unlocked position for when baby isnt quite crawling yet. These installed quickly and I like them a lot better than the other odd plastic catches of other baby proofing items.

> 24 hourThese locks are awesome when you want to baby proof your cabinets without looking like you baby proofd your cabinets. Theyre invisible and weve had many guests who couldnt figure out how to open our cabinets. Everyone was impressed with how these locks worked. We keep the magnetic key on a lanyard conveniently stuck to the fridge for easy access. The only comment I have is that the installation is obviously a little more complicated than other solutions. Take your time and do some visual checks / test fits. After you install a couple though you get the hang of it and you can install additional locks much quicker. One good trick I found is drilling small pilot holes with my cordless drill. I used tape on the small drill bit to mark the depth I wanted (aka, not drill THROUGH the cabinet door).
