    Greater than one week

I purchased two sets of these. The first set I purchased knowing I would need more than 8 locks. However, I didnt want to buy a ton of locks and risk not liking them. I installed the first set and was surprised by how easy they were to install, so long as you pre-drill first...which you should always do anyways. I didnt always get the parts lined up exactly how I would like, but that was user error. Luckily that was a minor issue since the lock does give you some wiggle room to line up everything properly before tightening. My baby girl has no change of getting into the cabinets, and she has certainly tried. The lock magnet key works as you would expect. It was surprisingly stronger than I expected. Since I liked the first set I bought, i went ahead and bought an identical second set. Now i have these on all the lower cabinets of my kitchen as well as my bathroom cabinets.

My two toddlers love to open their dresser drawers and pull out all of their neatly folded clothes. The traditional baby locks that allow you to open cabinets a couple inches wouldnt work because my kids could still reach the clothes and the wraparound locks dont work for us because my daughter knows how to get them open. These locks to the rescue. They dont allow you to open the drawer at all until unlocked which is great but this perk comes with a few downsides: 1) The key. Were always misplacing the key. Regular fridge magnets arent strong enough and without the key you cant access the contents your securing so weve had some frustrating mornings trying to find the key so I can get my kids dressed. This can obviously be rectified by having more than one key (but theyre expensive!) or not being careless with it like I apparently am. 2) Install. These wouldnt work on our dresser as is because the drawer face was extended past the actual box part of the drawer. This meant that no matter how we installed it, the magnet part of the lock wouldnt reach the piece its supposed to hold on to in order to keep the drawer shut. My husband rectified this by custom cutting pieces of wood to screw into the dresser, which we then attached the locks to. This was a time consuming process since each drawer level and size had to be different but in the end its working perfectly. 3) Finding the lock after installed. Again, really a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things but sometimes I have to slide that key back and forth on the dresser to get the right spot to unlock it. Maybe if your doing cabinets and can instal in the same lower hand corner or something this wouldnt be an issue for you but for us its annoying. Id definitely recommend these locks if the others dont work for your situation. Learn from our mistake and invest in an extra key though.

These are great if you dont want your child locks to be visible or leave small openings for cabinets to close on little fingers. You do need to drill them in to the cabinet, but everything is done out of sight, so we are able to use them even though we dont own our home. Yes, they are a little bit of a pain to deal with, but I dont think there are child safety locks out there that arent at least somewhat of a pain. Once you get the hang of opening them (you have to hold the magnet in EXACTLY the right spot and open the door while its still positioned there) and remember to grab the key before trying to open the door (it does take a little while), these work perfectly. Theyve made our cabinet doors so uninteresting to our very curious and active 7-month-old that he no longer even bothers trying to open them. I am giving them 4 stars only because one of the locks didnt work properly and we cant use it. Fortunately, we didnt need that one so I let it go.

These work great for keeping little ones out, they do get annoying for adults at times though. I find myself using the key to open a drawer, setting the key down, closing the drawer, only realizing I need something else, then picking up the key again and unlocking the device. Sometimes this happens over and over. It sounds like I am being absurd for being annoyed with this minor inconveniences, but it gets a little annoying having to get the key EVERY SINGLE TIME to open a door. That is not the fault of the product, that was by design and there is nothing they can do about it. It still is good for what it is intended to do. Install was not the easiest, the instructions and little sticker guides for drill holes were just confusing for me, so I just eyeballed the mount points and that worked fine for me. Can my wife install them? Doubt it, but she is not very handy either. So you need to have basic hand tool experience I would say to install these.

Wow, how nice to have the cabinets locked now! These magnetic locks are nice and strong...my little one cannot get into the cabinets when these locks are engaged. They dont budge at all! Its a little annoying to have to grab the magnet off the fridge to get a door open, but much less so than constantly worrying about what shes grabbing out of them. I would recommend buying an extra magnetic key, although we havent yet. My older daughter accidentally locked the key in their bathroom cabinet, but a magnetic clip we had on the fridge was strong enough to open the lock. Installation wasnt too bad. When one is finished the rest go quickly, especially if you have someone working with you. We only used a couple of the templates. Its easy to reuse them and we wanted to save a couple in case we needed them later. The only cabinet that was troublesome was the narrow one that stores baking sheets. Youll want to consider the width of the opening when planning use of the tools (finding a smaller drill for example...we had to borrow a neighbors for the one cabinet door). I love that they can be engaged or disengaged easily...just push the red/green button. When baby is napping and Im cleaning I dont have to keep reaching for the key. We havent placed these locks in the drawers yet, but Im sure that will soon be necessary as she is growing so fast! Overall these are great little locks and way more effective that those that allow the doors to open a bit (you know the ones...where you push down the plastic tab to open the door the rest of the way). No chance for pinched baby fingers with these :)

This is the ABSOLUTE best way to keep your child out of your cabinets!! My only recommendation is to include a second magnet in the kit for forgetful parents who tend to lose the magnet easily. I bought a second pack just to have 2 so I wouldnt be locked out. These are awesome though, my 3 year old son hangs off the cabinets trying to get them open and they still wont budge. They are somewhat annoying if Im in a hurry and I want to get into the cabinets, BUT they are much quicker than undoing one of those child locks. I HIGHLY recommend this products to all parents who want to keep their cleaners safe from little hands. I know most people who I recommended these to said its a pain in the butt to install them, but Ive moved 2 times since Ive ordered them and my boyfriend has taken no more than 30 minutes installing them on our cabinets at each house. Its definitely worth the $$ for a piece of mind that my child is safe.

We have been using these magnetic locks for a year and a half and they are still going strong. My now almost three year old doesnt mess with the cabinets too often anymore since she knows they are locked, but she used to grab two handles and rock back and forth pulling with all of her little might And no issues what so ever! Some of the negative reviewers sound like they may not have properly installed the locks by adjusting each door individually, which would have led to various issues. The installation was only a little tricky but the extra effort was well worth it. My husband used the provided stickers to get them lined up and fully tighten the screws. But he was having a hard time getting the locks to fully engage or some wouldnt release with the magnet. So this mechanically inclined momma got involved. I loosened the screws a little and then I got down on the floor and stuck my head in the cabinet to line the lock up with the latch. Instead of plain old circle holes for the screws to be mounted through, there are elongated holes to allow for adjustment. As others have stated, the inclusion of one key with the set is a little inconvenient. At first my husband was constantly loosing the magnetic key. Drove me CRAZY! But I spent one weekend hounding him to death to ALWAYS put it back in the same place after each and every use. Now, everyone that comes in the house always knows where to find it. FYI, we store ours on the bottom side of our upper cabinets, the magnet sticks to a screw beneath the painted surface.

I know these are probably made for young children, but I bought them because my son has autism and he is no longer little - he can reach all the same cabinets I can because hes almost a teenager. He thinks he can do more than he actually can... such as experimental cooking in the middle of the night :-( So I bought a pack of these to test them out. Figured if they didnt work, Id give them to someone with smaller kids to lock them out of lower cabinets. Installed one and tried to pull the door open afterwards - I am a very big, tall woman - door didnt budge. Id have to literally rip it off the hinges to open it. Have not had any trouble as of yet with my son opening any cabinets now. Might install them on drawers too, havent decided yet. Of course this means I have to wear the key on my person (even in my sleep, or hide it well) but small sacrifice for a kitchen that doesnt look like a cyclone hit it.

We looked at just about every cabinet lock out there. I didnt want ones that were a pain in the butt to unlock every time I had to open a cabinet door. We have six cabinet doors in our kitchen that the little guy can reach so I put one on all six. They are awesome and perfect! First of all, you cant see them at all. They install on the inside. We keep the magnetic key on the fridge so its close by when we need it. My son gives these cabinets a workout and theyve never failed. Im so used to using the magnet now that I literally dont even think about it anymore. If hes not in the kitchen and Im going to be opening the door a lot, its easy to set the lock to unlocked so you dont have to use the magnet at all. Weve used these locks for about 4 months now and I cant imagine a better solution. They just work. About the installation... Ive seen a few bad reviews with folks saying the lock didnt work or failed. The locks absolutely work. The way that they are designed, they cant not work. But they do need to be installed correctly. Once you install the lock, then you need to test it and make ever so slight adjustment (loosen screw and move back & forth) until its perfect. If you patiently install and test each lock, Id be hard to not be successful.

Preface: Absolutely Freaking Amazing! Pros: 1) Easy to lineup and install. After the first or second, you become a pro. 2) Directions were easy to read and easy to follow. 3) Cost efficient 4) Completely hidden from view so your kitchen continues to look awesome! 5) When installed correctly ~ no cabinet rattle. Cons: 1) Wish it shipped with more than 1 magnet tool. 2) Wish there was another color option (black perhaps?) Conclusion: My only negatives arent really even cons. Thats because this system is awesome! We originally installed a set at our old house several years ago when our first born son was born. They worked great, and I absolutely loved the fact that they were hidden from view and easy to manipulate with the tool to get them open. When we moved last year, we ordered up another set because we now swear by these things. Once the kiddos grow up, I doubt well even remove ~ we may just keep them on the cabinets and explain to the new owners/renters how to use them. We have encouraged several new parents to purchase, and are aware of atleast 1 couple that has and absolutely loves them! If I could rate this 10 stars, I would! Its been that awesome!
