I used this to upgrade a friends fairly old laptop. A pain to get to on HP laptop. Had to take it apart. However, everything worked. Apparently, this HPs USB does not have enough power for the old hard drive. I had to power it separately to get things to work doing the disk cloning, but work it did. After a couple of reboot attempts, Window 10 booted. It now boots from off in about 15 seconds. My friend is very happy. This is my third EVO and Ive never been disappointed.

Ive had three Samsung 870 EVOs in my desktop computer now for some months. It replaced my single hard drive, which was slow but still did the job. Services and applications under HardenedBSD start up faster and more consistently. I seem to be sustaining about a gigabyte per second read and write speeds as I have a RAID5 array now. Its eerie not hearing a disk spin up when I flick the switch on the PSU.

Three times as fast as aan electromagnetic drive! It works like a charm! However, you will probably need to buy an enclosure for your old drive . I dont recommend that you restore your old drive on your new one. I installed my new drive with a new system to start fresh and not carry my errors and viruses onto my new system. Your computer will be reborn again three times faster.

I dont game per se but I hate slow start ups. The write speed is great for me. I am happy with it. Will buy for my laptop next.

Drive was dead on arrival. Final had time to install it and didn’t find out it was bad until past the return date.
