> 24 hourWorks great with the ASUS Z270-WS Workstation Motherboard. The difference between a SATA drive and solid state memory is well, incredible. After using HDDs for nearly 30 years, having a solid state drive is a quantum leap in speed. I feel spoiled with this setup. Booting up is lightening fast, graphic and CAD applications run faster, can not say enough good things about solid state memory. Have had this for a year, and no problems so far. Installation was so easy, and saves much room in your PC case.

> 24 hourIts not my first time with NVMe, but coming from a Samsung PM951 to a 960 EVO (250GB) still blows me away. Its an incredibly fast drive, and the extra speed gained by going to a 960 PRO is only well spent if you want to go with a 1TB+ model or are constantly moving 10GB+ files around your drives.

> 24 hourThis is more than twice as fast as an Evo 850 Pro, and is a great price point since down the road the bigger ones will eventually come down. It doesnt come with a mounting screw, which is needed to secure it. The size is the same as a laptop screw, so if you get desperate and have a notebook with a spare donor screw available, it will be the right size to clamp it down. Jewlers tools helps here, unless you have a really tiny screwdriver. I put a few games and Windows on it, and set the temp and Firefox cache and swap drive on the old SSD just to conserve room on this one for the heavy lifting where its throughput really shines. The warranty is for 3 years or 100 terabytes written. Ive had an SSD for 8 months and backup and restore image files and use it for everything and it only has six terabytes written. That is a lot except if you run disk benchmarks on it you can easily blow a lot of that warranty away since they write a tremendous amount of data in each pass. Forget about ramdisks or cache software, those tax the CPU so make the best of it and really use this drive, if you play games it will really help, it just breezes through anything you can throw at it. Even 40 gigs of writes a day every day is three years, and even a power user isnt going to be downloading anywhere near that so realistically a 5 year life span is a good estimate.
