Theres nothing like supercharging your old MacBook Pro 2012 for storage and speed than replacing your old HD drive with a 1TB SSD drive. My 7-yo computer operates like I bought a brand-new, 2019 MacBook Pro, and has double the storage capacity. I may not buy another laptop again until all the screws fall out of this one!

Right now Samsung is pretty much the industry standard. You pay a little more for the name, but in this case its so minimal its worth it.

This hard drive fit right into my 2010 computer and the thing turned on in seconds. When I upgraded my computer it was a smooth transition and the drive slid right into the new machine as well. I think a terabyte is plenty of storage these days and this was a great deal.

GREAT upgrade to late 2011 13 MacBook Pro!!!!! now boots up in less than 45 seconds! replace the battery and upgrade the memory while you have the back open, then upgrade IOS to Sierra and youll have a new machine for a FRACTION of new. Check out YouTube for the how tos and you are good to go!
