> 24 hourWhen my 300 GB system HDD (Windows 7 Pro) started reaching the end of its life and was developing lots of bad clusters, I chose this Samsung SSD as its replacement. Installation in the drive bay was completely straight-forward using a 2.5-to-3.5 mounting tray. My only complaint is that I tried using the Samsung Data Migration software to clone my old hard drive, but it is not tolerant of bad clusters on the source drive, with no apparent way to make it ignore them. I simply used a commercial data backup product to solve that problem and clone the drive. Otherwise, the Samsung SSD is fast and performs exactly as it should.

> 24 hourI have a Dell Inspiron 5558 which I purchased in 2016. Its getting old and was running slow. I swapped the original hard drive out for this Samsung SSD and it works great again. Its alot cheaper than buying a new pc and not that difficult to install.

> 24 hourI have a 8 year old dell xps that was getting a bit slugish but has basically been a great laptop. Although the original hard drive was not throwing up any red flags I felt that an eight year old hard drive was pushing my luck, plus I knew I could pick up some real benifits in loading speeds with a ssd drive.I purchased the 860 evo 500 gig which will more than suffice my needs for storage space, and Samsung gets high marks for their products. The installation did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. I cloned the new samsung drive with Macrium Reflect, and although the cloning process completed when I swapped the drives Windows 10 would not load.Next I took the new drive out ,reinstalled the old and used the Samsung data migration software to clone the drive. It however will not copy OEM partitons installed on my old drive , which I didnt like. Reinstalled the new drive, Windows loads , but when I tried to to a system image backup with Macrium Reflect I cant see my external drives. Finally after messing about some I decided to leave the new drive in my laptop, was able to get it into it into a Macrium Reflect rescue environment and was able to install the backup image I took of my system just before starting this process onto the new Samsung drive. My basic point is that if Samsung data migration software cant duplicate all the partions on your hard drive , then I wouldnt use it.All I know is when I restored the image with those partitions everything started working right. This is just my exterience and maybe for 99 out of 100 people Samsung Data Migration might work fine, but when I clone a hard drive I dont want somebody else deciding to leave partitions out of the new cloned drive.

> 24 hourBuying this to replace my old disc HD on my laptop made my 7 yr old laptop feel brand new. I did have to update the bios to take advantage of the full speed but having a reliable SSD is a must nowadays.

> 24 hourI spent 30 hours trying to install this in my old Dell from 2012. Problem is that this older PC is probably incompatible with this drive, That PC only boots in legacy BIOS mode, and probably needs Win7 drivers to run the Samsung. I copied the data to the disk about 8 times and t booted only once and immediately crashed. Strange, as I have a Westen Digital SSD running very well in it.

> 24 hourWith SSD drive prices coming down, this terabyte drive is now the price of a 500gig just a few months ago! I bought two of these to replace the Hs boot drives on two of my PCs. The access time is FAST!

> 24 hourInstalled this on a 2011 mac. The size the the SSD and old hard drive are different by about 1/2 a cm. That leaves a little bit of buffer room between the case and SSD. If you dont put something in-between them the SSD will move around a bit as you shift the Mac. Overall, though the SSD works great and I noticed a slight speed bump in overall performance.
