> 3 dayThis was the biggest hit of all the Christmas presents we gave out. It went on sale by a huge amount before Christmas so my brother was shocked when he received a 1 TB SSD hard drive instead of a traditional 1 TB, especially with it being a super reputable Samsung SSD. He had no problems installing it in his desktop and luckily already had a shelf so he didn’t need a mounting bracket, and I knew enough about computers that a simple photo of his motherboard box allowed me to choose something that would fit. However, as someone who no longer has a desktop and hasn’t installed an SSD into anything but a laptop, it would’ve been nice to see COMPATIBLE 3.5” to 2.5” mounting brackets suggested just in case he didn’t have a shelf in his desktop case as the description doesn’t adequately address many things, nor does it offer detailed images. If I personally didn’t know so daggone much about hard drive configurations, I would’ve passed this one over due to the terrible quality of the description. Great product, horrible description for anyone who hasn’t repeatedly disassembled and reassembled many different desktops and laptops over the years (AKA the AVERAGE consumer)! Help your customers choose your product more easily, seller!

> 3 dayWell, I am no expert, but I installed this myself in my mid-2010 Macbook Pro 15, and it went beautifully. The upgrade is SO WORTH IT. I cant believe how little I spent on this, paired with the upgrade in RAM, and it is like I have a brand new computer for less than $150 in materials. I read a bunch about SSDs, watched a bunch of videos, and it more than paid off. I cant speak to longevity yet, but this model came highly recommended.

> 3 dayWOW prices have come down in 5 years! I spent $180 for a 64Gb SSD in 2009, then $125 for a 128Gb in 2012. I had to get a home network drive for files storage, which was a nice addition adding several other convinces. 500Gb for $71 anybody can now use an SSD without an external hard drive or getting a network driver.

Greater than one weekI installed a Samsung 500gb SSD drive and 8gb memory into a 2012 Macbook Pro. After watching many videos on swapping drives and adding memory, I decided to do it myself. This was after getting estimates of between $300 to $500 to have a computer shop perform the swap. I did it for around $120 which includes a tool kit and a sata to usb adapter. My Macbook has never run faster. Im glad I went with Samsung, cost was very little more than some off brand products. You might ask why I went with 8gb of memory instead of 16gb which many swappers are doing. I went with what Apple recommends for my model laptop., and I dont do memory intensive projects.
