Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

I maxed out the RAM in my five year old PC (with conventional hard drive) sometime ago. I was ready to upgrade to a new machine. Glad I didnt. This SSD made my PC significantly faster. It boots up much quicker, programs open quicker. If the money I spent on the SSD extends the life of my machine a year or two, then this was a huge success.

Did a successful migration to SSD from HDD on old MacBook Pro late 2011, and cannot believe the performance boost up. It’s super fast ! Boot up time has drastically decreased from 4 min to 10 seconds!! Wow! Just incredible ...have just ordered another one for MacBook late 2008

We used the samsung transfer app with cord to transfer all of the old data from the existing hard drive onto the new one. Then we used tools to replace the hard drive and voila! Easy install and MUCH quicker startup and lots more storage for the laptop! Such a great product.

Picked up a couple 500gb recently here on Amazon for $73, so glad prices have started coming down on ssds. Ive used these 860 Evos in quite a few builds as boot drives and or game drives and have never had an issue. Great Samsung quality and performance at a decent price.

Samsung makes great solid state drives and easy/useful management software.

I used this to upgrade my old MacBook Pro when forced to work from home. It has made my computer over 10 times faster according to BlackMagics Speed test. It has made it possible not only to get my work done, create videos, stream, and video chat but I have been able to play games like Sim City and Civilization with out terrible upload times that would make it impossible to play before hand. It makes my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro feel like a brand new better computer for a 20th of the price.

I have installed several of these (different capacities) and find them to be reliable, convenient, and trouble-free. The included software generally does a great job. I have had situations when I was going from a 1 TB drive to a 500 GB Samsung SSD. NO sweat. So long as the amount of data is not over what the new drive can hold, the software adjusts accordingly. They are generally faster than the lesser competition and just keep on working. I havent seen a reason to switch yet and I recommend them without reservation.

I used Macrium Reflect 7 to clone my old HD and the Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD worked great without any problems. It has been functioning well in my Gateway SX2803.
