So far, so good. You will have to download and configure the Samsung Magician software to set rapid mode, because that makes about a 5x improvement in speed. Without the Magician, youll be in the sssslllloooooowwww lane. My initial CrystalDiskMark speeds before using Magician on this drive were extremely disappointing. Be aware that the Magician rapid mode speed optimization only affects one drive, so your old Samsung SSD is going to slow down quite a bit when you change the rapid mode target.

Besides the price, I think everyone should run and get this drive. I can now travel with all of my music anywhere and don’t have to carry multiple drives to my events. Thank you Samsung!

SATA SSDs dont have the highest speeds but for the average person, they might as well. Switching from a hard drive to an SSD is such a dramatic increase in speeds. With just a hard drive my bootup times were somewhere in the range of 2-5 minutes. According to Task Manager, my last bootup time was 15 seconds. That includes Windows booting up AND logging in.

What is there to say about this SSD other than wonderful things? Ive read reviews of some customers having issues with the speed on their Samsung SSD but for myself personally it works as advertised and my gaming experience has been enhanced by the fast loading times provided by the speed of the SSD. I plan to pick up another one of these in the future to migrate my OS and other files over to but right now basing it off my gaming needs it is a fantastic choice for an SSD without breaking the bank, and 500GB is more than enough if youre managing your storage by only keeping things installed on it that you actually use.

Item was very well packaged (Almost too well -- a briefcase-sized shipping box for this CD-album-sized SSD box). The SSD comes with a manual with brief statements about installation and data migration/SSD-tuning softwares available from Samsung. This software, along with some Youtube/Google research, made the HDD to SSD transition simple, even for a first-timer like myself.

The Samsung software for moving your old hard disk drive to the SSD is very nice. Along with the magician(SSD setup/calibration/optimation/drive condidion/speed testing software) is vary nice as well. With the software and quality feel of the drive not to mention the fairly reliable samsung brand, I hope it works for a long time. Fingers crossed.
