07-06-2025MY PC has a very quick NVMe, but only 500gb. Also a 3tb hard drive but is painfully slow. Unfortunatley my PC doesnt have room inside for an internal SATA drive so my only option was an external enclosure. That can be limiting through USB, but the one I got is supported for USB C 3.1 gen 2. So with that an a thunderbolt compatible USB C cable, I can finally use this drive.

> 3 dayBought this to upgrade my mac laptop, and with this ssd, it runs great with the newer OSX. If your old mac laptop is upgradable by replacing the hard drive with an ssd, do it!

> 3 daySuper fast and blows away a standard hard drive. Makes my older laptop fly. Full windows boot in 10 seconds. The price is right. You will need an external docking station to make this drive a bootable drive.

> 3 dayI ordered 2 of these drives to be used as external storage drives, and I bought a suitable case for them as well. When I plugged them in to the laptop, they would not appear in the File Manager. The light on the drive came on, but they were not recognizable. Even in Device Manager they didnt appear. So I downloaded the Samsung Magician software and it said they were not supported drive types for Windows 10. I had to actually install each one in my laptop and use a Windows 7 OS CD to format them. After that, they showed up properly, but many people would not be able to do that. I have 3 different laptops (2 Dells, 1 ASUS), one with Win7, Win 8.1, and Win10 and none of them recognized the drives. Now that theyre formatted I havent encountered another issue, but I havent found a good use for the Magician software.
