I just ordered two more of the Preppin Weapon sanding blocks. Sanding is a necessary evil for woodworking and this sanding block is the easiest to use of any Ive tried, it uses a quarter sheet of sandpaper so its good size, easy to replace the sandpaper. I was apprehensive at first because of the price but anything that makes sanding easier is worth it. Now to make it even nicer! Make a sand paper cutting jig. Get a scrap board or plywood, attach a backstop scrap, add a hacksaw blade on top of washers to lift the blade slightly at 2-3/4 inches to the cutting edge. Now just put the sandpaper under the blade, hold down on the blade and pull up on the sandpaper to cut it, perfect every time and no guess work.

This is my second preppin weapon. My wife kept borrowing mine so I bought her one of her own in a different color. I love this product and highly recommend it.

I have previously purchased this, one at a time over the years, in yellow, red, and blue colors. I wanted to get this green one to complete my set so I could have each color loaded with a different grit of sandpaper, starting with the coarsest on the red one and moving through the rainbow to blue for the finest. (It is now possible to buy a complete set of all 4 colors from one or two sources, but when I first bought one, only yellow was available; the manufacturer added the other colors over the years.) Apart from the convenience of being able to switch sandpaper grits without having to stop and change it on one sanding block, this is itself a great sanding block. Although its hollow plastic, it is well-made, with a solid feel, a true flat rubberized sole that is the right balance between give and hardness, and stainless-steel clips activated by levers that are easy to move yet grip the sandpaper strips securely. I especially like that I can stack several strips of sandpaper on the block and just tear off the bottom one when it gets too worn or torn, so I keep working and minimize my downtime. Combine this with a sandpaper-ripping jig to quickly and easily tear standard sandpaper sheets into strips sized for this block (four per sheet without waste), this comes as close as you can get to the perfect hand-sanding experience.

I especially like the way this sanding block fits my hand, the feel and comfort. This is the first sanding block that does not cause my hand to cramp with extended use. The sand paper backing plate is of a quality material they is firm yet resilient enough to allow the sand paper to contact slightly uneven surfaces. The backing plate is firm enough to help the user to avoid rounding off the edge of the work being sanded. The 1/4 sheet mechanism holds the sanding paper tight and secure to the backing plate. I would buy this sanding block again. I fully intend to buy additional blocks to hold different sand paper grits.

This is a great improvement over the standard sanding block. The lever clamps hold the sandpaper very securely. And you can use almost the entire strip of sandpaper, rather than wasting over half of it clamping it off. The molded grip on the block is very well shaped, eliminating hand cramping during long sanding sessions.

These feel like heavy quality sanding blocks that will last.... well... forever. I love the quality feel they give me during use and the ease of changing out the sandpaper is excellent. Much better than what was around for sanding blocks at the beginning of my woodworking career some decades ago. I could not imagine how to make a hand held sanding block any better and it gives you the ability to cut up standard size sand paper as opposed to the more expensive hook and loop sand paper solutions, which is just fine sometimes, just more extravagant that standard paper.

I paid almost $25 for this sanding block and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Well constructed but way, way overpriced for the product. I brought a similar product locally for $4.99 and it was a good value.

Birthed in the auto body industry, this excellent hand sanding block is made from high impact ABS plastic (it won"t break if you drop it), it"s comfortable contoured shape fits the hand extremely well, and it has great heft. The superb design of its all stainless steel clip mechanism is one of the fastest and easiest to use. It requires little sandpaper to attach (cutting sandpaper waste), you can load multiple sheets at a time, and it won"t ever rust. Use wet/dry paper a lot? The block floats in a bucket of water, allowing built-up particles float away. Colored blocks make it easy to assign different block to each grit. Works with 1/4 sheet sandpaper or 2-3/4" wide file paper. Made in the USA
