Our kiddo learned to unlatch the sliding door and I worried hed slide it over his toes or leave it open at some point. And that our house would be raised by flies. This is a great out of reach lock attached to the pane of the glass higher up. Has just enough resistance to prevent unwanted opening. Great for a child lock secondary safety.

You CANNOT open the sliding door with this lock on. It is perfect for my 2 year old escape artist. I would highly recommend this product. It comes in a package of 4, and I used 1 for my sliding door and 2 for upstairs bedroom windows. Very simple to use.

I bought these when I had my granddaughters over. The youngest, now 2, is able to open our back slider even though it’s very heavy. We have a pool and no longer have a fence around it. Works like a charm and easy to install. The only drawback is that sometimes the door makes noise sliding over the closed latch.

We have a very active, mischievous, trouble seeking, boundary pusher and danger magnet of a toddler… we live in Arizona on the foothills where there is lots of wildlife and rattlesnakes are common so I never let my kids play outside unless checking the yard first. My 2 year old easily opens the sliding glass doors and loves to run outside or let our dogs in/out. I was losing my mind with his escapades and searched toddler proofing glass doors. After reading lots of reviews, I settled on this one and I am not disappointed! It has saved my sanity with keeping the door locked when I want it to be. We’ve had it for 2 months and it doesn’t feel like it’s coming off anytime soon. It does have a slight catch when trying to unlock, I need to pull it up with my finger while simultaneously pressing down buttons on the side. But it doesn’t bother me and I am happy with the product. Would buy again.

I love that I can use this at the top of my sliding door, but it is easier to disengage the lock then it is to set it and I have a problem with that when it comes to my wild child. All he has to do is press it in and boom, he’s out the sliding door. Realistically as parents we know children climb chairs and tables to reach what they want, and this prevents nothing if a child can reach it. If a mechanism was added to prevent the lock from going flat, then I would give it five stars.
