> 3 dayWe have standard windows installed last year (so current, modern standards) but these locks are a tad too thick (about 1/16) for the window to open when unlocked. They do, however, prevent the window from opening too far which was why they were purchased in the first place so in that respect they do the job.

> 3 dayIt does work for locking a sliding door or window but it is hardly a child proof lock, to deactivate the lock all you have to do is push the cap down and then you can open the door/window, so if you don’t install it high enough your kid will easily deactivate it, it would make soooo much sense if you needed to push the lateral buttons at the same time while you push the cap down in order to deactivate it, that way even if the child reaches the lock it would be really difficult for them to unlock it. Also as other comments say, the glue is super strong so lets say it was good that I only needed 1 lock and it came 4 of them because as I try to install it for the first time I barely place it for a second against the window and it got instantly super glued, I needed to move it a little bit to the left and it was really hard to take off and install another one again. As I said, it keeps the door from opening but not really happy with the purchase overall.

> 3 dayI don’t have children, but I do have a patio on the third floor. My cat has learned how to open the patio door that has a malfunctioning latch. I tested this pretty rough to make sure it would keep my cat inside and off the balcony when I’m not home. It hold up! I could lean my entire weight into it and it does not move. Now, my cat is safe.

> 3 dayI like how user friendly they are and easy to install. They’re too thick and prevent our sliding glass doors from being fully closed from the outside though. They were cheap enough I’m not horribly upset, they at least served their purpose to keep our kiddo from being able to let himself out of our home until we get something better.

> 3 dayThis is a simple and easy solution to our adventurous child. Specially now that we had some snow. The piece of mind that I have now as I am in the shower and getting ready to go to work is priceless. I would install this lock in an area of your glass door where your child wont be able to reach. Not even with a chair. This is because while I was installing one she started playing with the other 3 locks and figured out how to lock and unlock them. I wouldnt even let them know you stalled them. Product works as intended. She doesnt even try to open the sliding door anymore. Make sure you get it right the first time because the adhesive is very strong. I was still able to remove it and re-install it after 3 attempts. Not difficult to install...just wanted it to be perfectly aligned. Lastly, this is an uninstructive product. You wont know it is there since it matches nicely with our white door frames. Yeah, buy it.

Greater than one weekWe got to that stage where my toddler wanted to live outside even at night. She figure out the door and the lock system and she was letting her self out and it just was not a safe situation. These were a great solution to our problem even if they are down it makes it a little harder for her to open but you will be fine opening when they’re down.

05-06-2025So before buying this product I looked at every single review because that’s just the kind of person I am… and this item was supposed to be amazing! The best one out there… So I receive my package and it looks opened and I thought well it could just be bad weather or whatever that moved it around Whenever I opened the box it was literally all opened already they only came with three not four and the adhesive was literally ripped off the back.. clearly I returned it But I went to go throw the box away when I got home and I found the fourth one and that one was still intact wasn’t messed up or anything so I used it and funny it actually works perfectly if it’s actually intact and working properly! So I’m just disappointed in Amazon for their delivery service or whoever was packaging that to make it ruined that’s not OK…
