28-03-2025My l;ow rating had nothing to do with the quality of the product. It just ABSOLUTELY must have a 2.4 GHz network. I have a 5 GHz network and it will not work. Im sorry I couldnt use it because it reads as if it would be perfect for my needs.

> 3 dayOK, I have not tried to make this work, but I am already lost. The first instruction in the tiny, confusingly layout manual that I was reading (with a magnifying glass) is: if you cant read (this tiny) manual, to go online and download the manual in pdf. I did that, and after 10 minutes of searching the site found a video on how to make this thing work. WOW! I cant hear as fast as the instructor is talking. Understand, I have been in the electronics field for 40 years. But this video is baffling. It shows things so fast that I gave up watching it. I will try to read the manual and update my review soon. UPDATE: OK, I downloaded and started reading the pdf manual. Set up was not as bad as I anticipated. I downloaded the third party app then linked with the Alexa Skill app. Things work fine. My biggest complaint is that shape of the plug. It can only fit one plug into a dual outlet - and it is surprising how many outlets are oriented the wrong way for using the plug.

> 3 dayThis is an update to my original review. I have seen in the questions and answers section that many people have problems with this device. They say things like “there is no timer, I couldn’t get it to work, it’s useless I put it in a drawer.” I will be 77 yrs old in April and I installed it and it is an amazing device. For a timer function you must download an app, on an iPhone, from the App Store. The one I use is Smart Life. The timer function is truly unbeatable. To install this you need, as stated in the device description, a 2.4 GHz network on your router. Many routers, such as mine, are dual band. No problem. If your router has only 5 GHz, I have seen on YouTube there is a way to cause the router to default to 2.4 GHz. I cannot attest to that, so take it with a grain of salt. If you have access to 2.4 GHz and use the correct WiFi password during setup you should have no trouble using this smart socket.

> 3 dayI love this smart plug it goes great if you have alexia. You can tell Alexia what time you want to turn the plug on and off. I use it for Christmas lights mainly, but it can be used for other times of lights or any product that plugs in.

> 3 dayI ordered the 4pack of Wi-Fi sockets. One of them wouldn’t work. Something was faulty in the button on the socket. So I emailed their customer support shown on the box and got a response within 1 working day. Within a week, I received 2 new sockets to replace the one original and the new sockets worked great. I’ve been using these sockets for nearly 2 months now and they work great with my iPhone and google home assistant to voice command your lights on/off. The set-up and connection to iPhone and Wi-Fi is a bit cumbersome. The directions for setup both written and on the iPhone are hard to follow, lack details like telling you to wait for a few seconds while the iPhone app connects the sockets to your Wi-Fi. It’s happening in the background but it looks like they are not responding. Once connected to Wi-Fi and iPhone, connecting to google home is easy. I gave 3 stars for the faulty socket and combersome setup. customer support is very impressive, it’s just disappointing to get faulty product new out of the box. Overall these are a pretty good value if they all work as expected.

> 3 dayI like the size of these plugs. Not super bulky and in the way of other plug in outlets

> 3 dayI first spent money on this company’s outdoor steak/extension/timer and loved it so much that I bought a second one and then bought these two plugs so that I can plug my indoor Christmas lights that I have in two of my windows into. These are awesome because you can download the product’s app and easily schedule when you want your Christmas lights to turn on and then turn off. Some nights I fall asleep early and then the lights are left on so these timers have helped tremendously! The app is super user friendly too! With these plugs you could also connect your Christmas trees into them and set them on a timer, and any other lights or devices that you want to set on a timer schedule to turn off and on. I would highly recommend!!

> 3 dayLet me start out by saying that all I ever wanted was to be able to tap a button on my G7 Android to be able to turn on or off a lamp without having to fumble around with a switch or knob in the dark or travel back into a room I was just in for the sole purpose of turning off the lights. I assumed I could use my phones bluetooth to create a direct signal between devices in close proximity the way my phone and bluetooth speakers do without involving any third or external party. It would appear that I was mistaken about that. All the devices that I could find seem to want to force me to use wi-fi or dual wi-fi/bluetooth with Google Home or Alexa. I also learned that some kind of hub, whatever the hell that is, seems to be essential as well. That being established, heres my review. Installation took a few tries. First of all, I had to disable the 5g part of my wi-fi, a PITA in and of itself. This whole 2.4g only situation is just flat out stupid. Kudos and thanks to the reps at Comcast for helping me with this. Then, once I figured out that powered off meant the blue light was on and figured out the difference between between blinking slowly and rapidly as well as discovered the plug has to be removed from the outlet for a few seconds after each unsuccessful installation attempt, I was able to get the wi-fi working but I still dont completely understand how I did it and couldnt really explain it if my life depended upon it. Interestingly enough, once the installation was complete, the plug worked fine when the 5g was re-enabled. Bluetooth, however, was a completely different story. First of all, the bluetooth instructions are vague and seem incomplete. Theres something about blinking lights and the HBN app finding BLE devices. It was never able to find the plug. I dont know if the plug was supposed to somehow be switched to bluetooth mode or some kind of hub is required as seems to be the case with Google Home for bluetooth to work, but both the HBN app and Google Home were never able to find the plug using bluetooth. Both work fine with wi-fi which, at the moment, is workable but not preferable. The physical dimentions of this plug limit where it can effectively be used. It cant be used in the bottom section of a typical two-plug outlet without blocking the upper socket. Any sockets directly to the left and right, such as on a power strip, will also be blocked. If anyone can tell me if a bluetooth-only smart plug or bulb that will work with my Android without some kind of third party like a router or hub the way my speakers do exists, I would love to hear about it or an explanation as to why such a beast doesnt...as well as exactly what a hub is and why its needed. - [email protected]

> 3 daySo versatile! I have 3 different vehicles with block heaters, one at a different residence. (One is actually a different model for outside use.) It’s super easy to adjust on off time, or just start and set a timer to shut off for one-off use. Useable for any place with wifi; no more manual digital timers except for back up. Easy to set up Easy to program Remote operation! Different models all displayed together with Smart Life app. These only work with 2.4 GHz wifi, both networks I have them on our fortuitously set on 2.4G. 4-pack is ridiculously cheap, glad I got them.

> 3 dayMany reviewers reported difficulty getting these to connect to the network. I had the same problem, which makes me feel a little dumb for ignoring the reviews. After an hour of playing with it, I finally got one to connect to my network and to connect to Alexa. It was a frustrating hour. The font used in the paper directions that came in the box was too small for me to easily read, even with a magnifying glass. The first page did have a note that if you cant read the instruction sheet, the instructions are available online. They gave a website, which did not contain instructions for this product. In fact, I couldnt find instructions for this model anywhere on their website. And when installing it using their app, this model isnt listed as any of the ones available for installation. If youre willing to play around with it, you can probably make it work, but if youre looking for a plug-and-play smart plug, this isnt it.
