FUN!!! Lots of ways to shake up the game, particularly with the expansion packs. More fun, often more challenging, and because every game is vastly different its easy to play multiple times and not get bored.

Disappointed. Pieces are discoloured and the cloth bag is plastic. Game is great of course, but I bought it after playing with my friends set and he has the real deal, not the knock-off being sold here. Even the picture used to advertise it isnt the same as the set I received. Sad.

This is a very fun chess like game. Pieces have their own way of moving around the board. Each bug has strengths and weaknesses. I wasnt sure about not having a board at first but I love it. The pieces form the board in a sense. This is a very fun strategy game that would be good for travelling or games at home. It is very good for long sessions/multiple games or bringing out to kill some down time. Dont let the theme turn you away. This could very easily become your new favorite. I highly recommend this game.

Love it, something simple but a bit different.

Says it includes ladybug and mosquito expansion. Ours arrived with 1 black mosquito, 3 black ants. No white mosquito and 4 white ants so we have to use the single mosquito as an ant. Both ladybugs were there though.

It was a little smaller than expected but this is also the pocket version. I am really enjoying this game with family and friends. Very tempted to get the full version!

If you love chess, go or checkers, this is the game for you. The game is simple but is full of strategic possibilities. The object of the game is to completely surround your opponents queen with their or your pieces. The fun part is that each insect in the game moves differently. If you get this version it has the ladybug and mosquito expansion, but not the pill bug expansion. If you can afford it, get all the expansions and the new edition of the regular Hive with the colored pieces(not the Carbon version). I say this because I played with the original at a board game event and I like the feel and size of the original game.
