Smart Zone Games Hive Pocket

I was looking for a portable game to take up to our local bar. They have a beautiful patio and we like to sit outside. We tried playing chess, but it was too cumbersome to bring. Hive Pocket edition is the perfect alternative. The game is easy to learn but gets more challenging the better you get at it. The pieces are well made and fun to touch and play with. I love that the ladybug and mosquito expansions came with this travel set. The only potential improvement I might like to see would be a silicone printed mat to play on. sometimes its hard to keep the tiles perfectly aligned and to tell where theres really an open space in the game or not. Overall, its quickly becoming one of our favorite couple games.

We took this on vacation to play at the beach. It was so fun and strangers asked what we were playing. We made a few new friends because this game is so fun. 2 player short play casual fun.

I was trying to decide between this and Hive Carbon. I chose this version for portability and havent been disappointed. I had no preference on the pieces being colored, but I think it makes it easier for some folks to learn. I take this out to the backcountry and love that you can play it anywhere. Still trying to figure out how to gain an advantage when going second...

Very fun and inteligent board game

Im very happy with this product. This game is so fun. I bought the pocket version because I travel a lot, plus it had the ladybug and mosquito additions. The pieces are quite solid and the little bag they come in is handy for transporting it. This game is awesome, its like chess but better because its easier to learn and you can play much faster. Its perfect when you only have 15 minutes to spare because you can sneak in a quick game. I absolutely love it, I cant speak highly enough of it. Great product! :)

Get this game. Hive is the best game out there. Pocket Hive is the perfect size.

First, Hive is the coolest new game since I dunno when. I dont know why it doesnt have a national competition yet. Its like chess and go combined, kinda. My family must have played 500 games, and we are STILL discovering new techniques and tricks and combos. SECOND, this littler version is great, partly because it includes two new pieces - yay expansions! - and partly because it is smaller and easier to play on, say a restaurant table. Love it!
