ok so. This is my 1st review on a product so dont expect pro level stuff. I bought this headset awhile back when my corsair headphones broke. (bass faded out and i was getting tired of hearing a cracking sound from the item. After receiving the headset in the mail I was surprised by simplify box decoration of it. After getting all the components out of the box it toke me about 10 mins of setting up and reading the instruction book and light installs of the software to the headphones. After all that the headphones works like a dream. Tho, The only down side i could even come close to is this. Charing the headset is a bit a of issue. i understand that its wireless and that means it will need a battery within it. But the simple Red for near dead, Yellow for half way & Green for good to go kind of (in my own opinion ) should be replaced with a number percent. telling you and showing you how much you have. All and All, good headset work your money

I REALLY enjoyed this product for the first couple of weeks I used it, save one or two small complaints, but as time has progressed it has become more of a hassle. They aren’t bad headphones and they work flawlessly with my PS4, but have given me persistent issues with my PC. The good: -The software on PC allows you to customize profiles for different listening applications which is nice (and necessary). -These headphones worked super well with my PS4, which has been super cool. -when they work on my PC I love being wireless and the battery life is pretty good and the headphones are super comfy. The Bad (long because I want to be fair and specific): -out of the box, the sound quality is ROUGH. I mean, sound profiles for headphones are definitely a matter of taste but out of the box I found the high frequencies to be PAINFUL, and there was a severe lack of bass. Any budget Bluetooth headphones is going to struggle to achieve wired levels of sound quality but the shrill and piercing highs almost made me immediately return them. (Definitely had to alter the sound profile with the software in order for them to be usable) -for PC, these headphones have so much happening in the audio drivers/devices side of things that your computer will become confused and stop delivering audio correctly. Sometimes these headphones work perfectly but for me it’s been a coin flip. It creates a proxy “discord” audio device for the discord volume dial feature which is fine if you are only running game audio and discord. I had to disable this feature because I would often listen to music while I listen to discord and game, the discord dial can sometime start effecting volumes of programs you don’t want it to, or may not work at all. Aside from The discord features, of these headphones die while your playing a game, sometimes you have to restart the game for it to re-register the headphones as the appropriate audio device, but sometimes it works fine. Sometimes, my Spotify won’t recognize the Arctic 7 audio device as a valid output and won’t play music through them unless the headphones were on when booting Spotify. Sometimes game sounds just stop and for seemingly no reason. Sometimes your computer wont recognize the Arctic’s 7 at all and aside from restarting your computer there’s not much you can do. There’s all sorts of fixes online for stuff like this online, but unless you enjoy uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and making sure weird caches are cleared it’s been easier in my experience to just restart my computer. Maybe it’s from windows updates, or bad software updates, my own personal setup, or whatever, but I’ve checked most of those things and sometimes there’s no clear reason for a glitch. All that being said, if it is working, it will work great for, usually, an entire session (keep in mind, never had ANY issues on PS4). If your audio setup on your PC is super basic (no speakers, no alternate outputs, just running game sound and discord through these phones) then maybe this is perfect for you. Overall: - I use these headphones all the time, but the 3/5 star rating is ultimately because I still have to keep my wired headset around for when these start to glitch out. The sound quality is rough at first but can be evened out, and I bought these headphones to try out a different sound profile then normal. I knew they would be kind of shrill with less bass, and I don’t ultimately fault them for that but with that in mind, if you like bass heavy profiles, look elsewhere. The directionality is spot on and the mids and highs are so sharp it makes in game sound cues like footsteps or gunshots stand out like crazy. However the highs are so powerful that gunshots are so loud you have to active the sound compression algorithm on the headphones in order to keep your ears from (bleeding?) ONLY hearing explosions or gunshots. These headphones have been a joy at times and a source of frustration as well. For 110$, your expectations can’t be too crazy, if you were to buy a high end mic and high end headphones, all with with a built in high quality Bluetooth DACs with software support for listening profiles you would expect to spend 10x that amount. So it’s a solid deal, but what your buying is wireless-ness not audio quality or reliability. If I had to buy another Bluetooth headset I’d probably spend a bit more money and try a different brand, with less features, more reliability, and better ootb sound quality but that’s my personal preference. TLDR: 3/5

Arctis 7 wireless headset. First off, I am playing on a PS4 for a month now. It seems those with software issues must be on PC as there is no software anywhere in sight for my setup. Ease of use 5 stars. Plug in the dongle and turn on the headset. Boom, it works. Take a break, walk to the kitchen 40 feet away and still hear your team talking and game sound the same as being in the game room. Audio 5 stars. I have had no issues with audio quality. It has rich sound and is very directional. Microphone 3 stars. It works, but clan mates say its quiet. Had to turn up dialogue volume to max on the PS4. Mic has to stay close to my mouth. Pull on the retractable mic too much and it makes a beep. No microphone monitor, which means you cant hear yourself talk (which leads to others not being able to hear you talk and you wont know it until they tell you). Comfort 4 stars. I have a 7 5/8 hat size which is large. I adjusted the material about as big as I could make it and while its not the most comfy, I can wear it for an hours-long raid in Destiny 2 without pain. Charging - 2 stars. USB-2 charging, but its iffy at best. Plug it in and hope its charging. The mic red light comes on but after an overnight charge it still shows yellow on the power button. Turn it off again, then on again, and sometimes the light will be green. Charging port does seem to be finicky, which is suboptimal. Battery life - 5 stars. When its fully charged it lasts for multiple long afternoon/evening play time. Overall I can put up with the above issues. But next time Ill probably go with something else. Update 12-27-2021 Now using with a PS5. Plugged in the dongle and the console found it immediately. Still not the most comfy headset on the planet but it works. If you charge it overnight and turn it off before unplugging it, the charge light turns green. If you unplug it then turn it on, the charge light is yellow like the day before. Odd. Durability is good but I dont throw things... The mic is still not great for me, but again, turning up the dialogue volume on the PS5 addresses that. Probably about 70% volume so people can Hera me. Now they hear me breathing though. Balance is not easy to find in this area. Sound is still good. Im not sure the PS4 or 5 support 7.1 sound, but it is directional and in the few occasions Ive put it on backwards, I noticed right away I did something dumb lol... I still wouldnt buy it again because of the oddities it has. It works, but I think for the money you should be able to get a much better headset in terms of comfort and usability.

Review for the 2019 Arctis 7. Love the design and build quality. Materials and sound quality are completely solid, but I had to take off one star because of some strange behaviors out of the box. I charged them fully (or so I thought) before using them. I thought it was weird that the mic LED was flashing red for a few hours then turned off. The next day I tried them out while working and noticed below average sound quality (static and terrible bass range). I was actually quite disappointed and thought there was no way these would get such good reviews with this sound quality. This was also during/after tweaking the SteelSeries Engine Software. I looked into the issue and found some users required a firmware update to get things going. I hadnt been prompted to update my headset and noted that my Headset and Transmitter were at 1.19.0.0 and firmware at 2.3.0.0. Not finding any success in updating I initiated a hard reset by pinning the button under the left ear cup for ~20 seconds and repairing with the transmitter (hold ~5sec and headset for ~6sec). I immediately saw a change when the charge LED flashed green. I hopped back into the software, and although my software/firmware versions didnt change, my headset now indicated I had a full battery and sound quality dramatically improved. I hope this helps if some of you are experiencing the same thing! Sound quality and Comfort: I still have my wired Bose QCs for noise cancelling head down work, these are a great substitute when mobility is a plus. Sound quality is comparable with a little tweaking in the SS Engine Software. Although Im not too convinced of the 7.1 surround quality, it is enjoyable. The headset is also very comfortable, both on the ears and on the head. They are pretty light compared to some other headsets. This helps if youre going to use them for extended periods of time.

Have had about a week. Bought to replace my Hyperx Cloud Flights (which I bought to replace my Corsair HS70s!) As I review these I just finished a 5 hour gaming session, no usually my longest but the comfort is there. Still waiting to see if they give pain in my ears/face/jaw area like the two previous sets did but I think the outlook is well. You are required to install Engine 3 from SteelSeries to access battery meter and equalizer settings, no surprise there. Engine 3 uses a purely 3 bar battery for means of telling you how much charge is left.. % would have been better as 1 bar can mean anything from 5-30%! The ski band is kinda quirky but I can appreciate them trying something different. Despite it looking strange its actually quite comfortable to wear. The earphones also have a nice swivel that my previous headphones did not.. I think these two niches really set the headset apart from others on the market. Microphone is somewhat a mixed bag. You get a giant red led letting you know its off.. okay. While fully extended it doesnt seem to go right near your mouth so youre kind of talking out the side of your mouth to make sure its working. Sidetone users REJOICE! This headset has Sidetone from None, to Low, Medium and High; very good to include! I believe these are worth a try and if you like them definitely keep. The price is a bit high but I understand SteelSeries is a solid peripheral manufacturer.

I love everything about this headset except for the headband. Sound: fantastic, plus being able to balance desktop sounds and Discord audio on the fly is tops. Function: great, muting is tactile and you always know when youve done it, mic position is always correct thanks to the flex mic, you can use them while charging, and theres a manual connection option. Minor quibble here: the engravings on the base station are nearly impossible to see, easily fixed with a minute of liquid paper whiteout, pictured. Microphone: Clarity is really good for a headset mic, I only need to switch to the desktop mic when doing a recording, headset mic works great for chatting, phone calls, streaming, etc. Feel: This is where I drop a star. While the overall comfort is great, I wear this almost 12 hours a day and the headband stretched out after only 6 months requiring me to get a replacement from the SS website for $15. Also, the ear cups dont have an obvious way to be removed/cleaned, and if you use these all day like I do they will get gross. All in all a good headset but I wish I didnt have to spend $30 a year on maintenance via replacing the headband, so 4 stars.

I saw a lot of complaints and issues on these online but it seems it was from the early early models of them. Mine have been pretty flawless since Ive gotten them. There was some hiccups early on getting the hang of how it actually charges and not though, and some general use confusion all over online. To clear it up for anyone - It WILL charge with the headset off, light up mic thing as red, just show no charging light. BUT when you then turn them on itll keep the last color it was prior to charge, so if it was dead and you unplug after charging it while its off itll stay red, plug it back in while its off, turn on, unplug, shows green. - Dial on right have it at the halfway notch, this mixes VOICE and GAME, it can be confusing at first and if not done right sound quality is terrible and its quiet. - Get SS engine, you can edit them to simulate 7.1 you can change a whole sound mixer, and a few other things, apply it once it saves it on the headset this works for first time setup for using on a console too. -Last if your headset seems to brick or just go wonky, left ear cup you take the foam off, theres a tiny pinhole for a master reset switch, stick a pin in for a few seconds and itll full reset the headset if it bugs out Steelseries really needs far better instructions to come with this and online. Users online like reddit the answers are terrible and 90% are just flat wrong. Spend the first days getting to know this headset or youll think things are broken that are fully functional..

I was a huge fan of these headphones since I got the Arctis 5 in the summer of 2018. Eventually, they started falling apart so I upgraded to the wireless arctic 7s. Ive had them for a few days and the sound is just amazing. The 5s didnt have bass so when I used the 7s the sound was just crystal clear. I listen to music every day and its so amazing being able to move around and do stuff while using these headphones. They are tight on your head and they are comfortable so they dont fall off. I love how the mic retracts in so it doesnt bother you. The sound is amazing, I play videogames all day and the surround sound is excellent, bass can be controlled if you want a lot, little or none at all from the SteelSeries GG app, there are a few more settings you can change on them but I dont know much about those settings so I keep them how they are unless I want bass or not. You can easily adjust them to fit whatever size head you have and they will fit you perfectly without the balance being different on one side or the other. The noise cancellation is good too, my computer is in the living room so its nice not being able to hear my family or the TV all day and be able to focus on either homework or video games. There was only one slight problem I have been having and that is the mic quality. I mean it is a wireless headset so the mic quality wont be as good as many other wire headphones or the big mics on stands but its not really something to worry about its still better than bad? You can still easily use it but your friends or coworkers will need to adjust for a few days. Overall the mic is not something to worry you its still pretty good. I saw other comments about the headphones making contact with your ears and making you feel a bit of pain or discomfort but I do not have that problem and no I dont have small ears. The battery life does last 24 hours and the headphones do charge extremely quickly which caught me by surprise and I am really happy that I dont have to worry about battery life and you can use them while they charge as well thats not a problem. Overall for the price they are. They are worth it. They are slim, tight so they dont fall off, the sound is incredibly clear for all music, games, or just chat. You have 2 volume mixers on the headset so you can easily mute either chat or games or just lower the volume on each one or both. These are great headphones, worth every penny, I cannot wait to keep buying this collection of headphones because they do NOT disappoint and I even know people who got them before me and we love them all.

Going into these after using the Astro A50s for years, I was expecting a lower quality headset. I was a little surprised at just how well these performed compared to top of the line headsets. The noise cancellation in both the mic and headset are great. The mic doesnt pic up much stray noise (the fan in the other corner of my room never gets picked up) and when you have the headset you hear NOTHING. Sometimes this is a little worrying honestly, as with the A50s i could at least hear loud noises but with these i could even hear my door to my room open and close. With the surround sound, you can tell a slight difference in the sound coming from the two earphones. The right one is more sensitive and footsteps will be louder. This was a non issue for me as i could still hear movement from the left ear cup just fine. Unless youre really into audio and care about specifics in surround sound headsets, it will be a nonissue and people tend to over exaggerate the issue. I will note that if you are using this for the PS4, the dial that lets you choose the balance between game and chat audio will not work. You will have to manually do this in the party settings on the PS4 itself, or in the games menu when you first play a game. Again, this is a small workaround that will probably take 30 seconds to fix whenever you launch a game for the first time. The mic also was a little quiet for me. The mic volume output is a setting thats also in the Party Settings on the PS4. You will have to mess with this for any headset though, so no complaints there. Overall, this headset is really great for the price. If you want perfection then youre going to have to spend the big bucks, but this headset is really close. Id shop from steeleseries again for future headsets

I returned my turtle beach wireless headset due to mic and connectivity issues and got these instead. I did an unbelievable amount of research on what gaming headset to get as I hate buying a pair I dont end up liking and get stuck with them. There are SO many different gaming headsets nowadays it was not easy picking one to buy. This headset was everything I wanted. To keep it short and sweet, Ill just list the pros and cons... Pros: Quality materials (no cheap creaking plastics) Very comfortable (not too tight or too loose, ear pads very soft) Great sound and dynamic range (fully adjustable in app) Quality mic (fully adjustable and retractable) Independent master volume dial 2nd dial to adjust the game chat and game volume blend. Mic mute button (mic lights up red when muted) Mic monitoring is a HUGE plus. You can enable with the app so you can hear yourself talking through your mic. This helps you talk normally and not yell due to your hearing being sealed off from ambient noise. It also helps equalize the pressure in the ear cups which adds to comfort and minimizes ear fatigue. Without it, your ears can begin to feel weird after a while from being so isolated within the ear cups (at least for me). Great wireless range. Stayed connected even when I left the room with them on. 3.5mm headphone cable included so you can plug them into your controller (in case you prefer wired connection). Rock solid battery life (power button lights up different colors to tell u what percent battery is left). Cons: None so far. Will update review if something comes up.
