Would be amazing if it didn’t add its own programs to the computer and I don’t want it.

So this is my first Gaming headset, and only my second pair of headphones, so Im definitely not an expert, but these headphones are AMAZING. Noise Cancelling: The noise cancelling on these headphones is pretty terrible honestly. Thats not really a big deal for me, but it could be for other people. Sound Quality: Im no sound expert, but these sound great to me. The surround sound is pretty great (to my untrained ears). Comfort: The elastic headband is AMAZING! after wearing these headphones for a few weeks, and then going back to my old ones, it kind of hurts. One comfort issue is that the ear cups are a bit short, so my ears touch the speakers a bit. At first this really annoying, but after wearing them for about a week I got used to it and I dont notice anymore. Wireless: This was the biggest feature of this headset, and its super great. No noticeable lag, and a stable connection. my only complaint is that I only have a gaming laptop, and the cord is pretty long for that. Not a big deal though Mic: Again, Im no expert, but the mic sound quality is good. The only issue is with the retractable design. Since the mic curls up in the headset when retracted, it has to be more flexible, this makes it harder to adjust each time you pull it out, especially since it tends to stick in a curved position. Not a big deal though. All in all this headset is almost perfect for gaming, and there really isnt a need to get a more expensive one (except for maybe the arctis 9, since that has bluetooth and wireless which would be nice). PS: Whenever I read reviews with anything negative to say about a product, I get a bit scared. So Im just going to say right now: the cons in my review are NOT a big deal. Any product will have something wrong with it.

Going into these after using the Astro A50s for years, I was expecting a lower quality headset. I was a little surprised at just how well these performed compared to top of the line headsets. The noise cancellation in both the mic and headset are great. The mic doesnt pic up much stray noise (the fan in the other corner of my room never gets picked up) and when you have the headset you hear NOTHING. Sometimes this is a little worrying honestly, as with the A50s i could at least hear loud noises but with these i could even hear my door to my room open and close. With the surround sound, you can tell a slight difference in the sound coming from the two earphones. The right one is more sensitive and footsteps will be louder. This was a non issue for me as i could still hear movement from the left ear cup just fine. Unless youre really into audio and care about specifics in surround sound headsets, it will be a nonissue and people tend to over exaggerate the issue. I will note that if you are using this for the PS4, the dial that lets you choose the balance between game and chat audio will not work. You will have to manually do this in the party settings on the PS4 itself, or in the games menu when you first play a game. Again, this is a small workaround that will probably take 30 seconds to fix whenever you launch a game for the first time. The mic also was a little quiet for me. The mic volume output is a setting thats also in the Party Settings on the PS4. You will have to mess with this for any headset though, so no complaints there. Overall, this headset is really great for the price. If you want perfection then youre going to have to spend the big bucks, but this headset is really close. Id shop from steeleseries again for future headsets

These worked great for a little over 2 years before they started getting a lot of static when adjusting volume and having overall sound issues. Id expect something with this price to last longer. But while they worked they were fantastic headphones.

I really like this headset. I wear it for 10+ hours a day and it stays super comfy. The sound quality is great and I love the game/voice dial, its super useful. Plus the wireless is perfect, it has great range (about 40-50 ft) and they arent too heavy. However, the mic audio could be a tad better, according to people listening. Its not a deal-breaker though; the mic input audio is still miles ahead of airpods and other built-in mics, and only a couple steps behind a standalone mic, like the Blue Yeti. The biggest drawback is the confusing battery indicator. Its got three levels -red, yellow, green- but how much time is left on each of the levels is always inconsistent. Could be hours or minutes left on yellow, even if they were green a second ago. You can wear and use them while theyre charging, but you hear a faint buzzing noise that gets pretty annoying. Also, if the battery is red (bad, apparently) and then I charge them for 5 minutes, theyll turn green again even though there is no way theyre even close to that level of charge. Theres even more battery nuances than that, but those are the biggest issues. Overall, I think the utility of the headphones outweighs the cons, so Im happy with my purchase.

Sound: Lets get this out of the way first: These arent audiophile headphones. However, what you are getting is a good depth and smoothness of sound with just enough bass that you can feel the rattle when things get crazy. What you get here is a headset thats great for music, but damn near life-changing for games - especially if youre coming from the budget class. I highly recommend setting the equalizer software to Immersive and loading your favorite shooter. Its worth noting that bass levels have been improved in this 2019 version over the legacy model. Comfort: As compared to the 2018 model, the 2019 release enjoys a greater standard of comfort with deep, comfortable earcups and a light profile. Its actually pretty easy to forget that youre wearing these, even for someone with an exceptionally large head (sorry mom) like mine. Software, driver support and functionality: In terms of the wireless capabilities, build quality and so on, these feel just as premium as the price would suggest. The driver suite (which is rather mandatory, so go get it) is lightweight and adds some decent equalizer functionality - Nothing exceptional, but its still a solid value add. Additionally, 7.1 surround support has been improved over last year - Setting the surround profile to Large Room produces a good depth of sound that doesnt feel flat, making for an enjoyable music-listening experience in addition to the obvious gaming benefits. Conclusion: Youll probably note that most of the middling reviews for this headset are for the Legacy model. As those complaints have been addressed to varying degrees, I now feel safe in calling this one of the most well-rounded wireless headsets available today - with the caveat that Bass junkies might want to look elsewhere. The bass here is just good enough to rattle your brains just a little bit, but you can tell that its intentionally subdued to bring it more in-line with the rest of the soundscape as compared to many other gaming headsets.

*Note: Ive owned/used these headphones for several months now Sound quality: Great sound quality. Sure its not the same as fancy noise-canceling headphones... but the quality is still very good and rivals all other standard headsets. The sound quality is at par, but its not the reason you are buying these headphones, keep reading. The wireless connection is flawless: the reason why were not using our fancy Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones with our computers, is because the sound quality leaves much to be desired. If at any point, you have two different sounds coming in at the same time, Bluetooth headsets tend to have issues with this. You get sound cutting out, and in other cases the headset will just completely ignore one of the sources. With the arctis headset, you are wirelessly connected via a USB dongle, meaning you wont face the same issues as the Bluetooth headset. THIS, is the reason why you are buying this headset, and in this department, it performs flawlessly. You will get un-interrupted sound in the same way you would with a wired headset. The battery life is okay: compared to other peripherals that need to be charged, like your keyboard and mouse, the headset will need to be charged far more often. However, its important to note that this is not a product defect. Because the device is outputting sound, its going to naturally use more power and drain battery quicker. With heavy usage youll need to charge the headset every 4 days or so and theres a little light that will tell you your battery status. This battery life is on par with other competitors. I highly recommend this product.

I read quite a few negative reviews on these headphones and after using them for a couple days now (around 10 hours of gaming) they are by far the best headphones I have used. Comfort is excellent the pads are extremely soft and you can barely tell you have them on your head (reviews had said since the ear wasn’t deep enough that your ear mashed against the metal - this is incorrect as I have large ears and mine fit excellent) Sound quality is the best I have experienced and I have owned PlayStation gold, PlayStation platinum, various turtle beach headsets. Sound localization is excellent and variation of chat and game audio is easily adjustable. It was also brought up that they are “too heavy” in many reviews. For me, the longest I have worn them so far was a 6 hour stretch and I didn’t experience any discomfort and could barely tell they were on my head. They are very well build and I don’t see physical wear being an issue with these at all. Set up was very easy, basically plug and play with the usb for PS4 and my computer. They do work with my switch but need plugged in (no Bluetooth) The mic is fairly quiet for my friends to hear me. This just required adjusting mic volume on the PlayStation up to 75% and it took care of the problem! On PC volume was perfect out of the box. I have used them for 10 hours and have not had to charge them at all yet - the 24 hour battery life I expect is true as my Sony platinums would last me maybe 6-7 of these 10 hours of gameplay. Just a quick review as I saw so much negativity about these headphones prior to buying - I’m not really sure why everyone is so against them. But from me - I highly recommend these headphones to anyone that is looking for a comfortable, great sound quality, durable set of headphones at a decent price!

I REALLY enjoyed this product for the first couple of weeks I used it, save one or two small complaints, but as time has progressed it has become more of a hassle. They aren’t bad headphones and they work flawlessly with my PS4, but have given me persistent issues with my PC. The good: -The software on PC allows you to customize profiles for different listening applications which is nice (and necessary). -These headphones worked super well with my PS4, which has been super cool. -when they work on my PC I love being wireless and the battery life is pretty good and the headphones are super comfy. The Bad (long because I want to be fair and specific): -out of the box, the sound quality is ROUGH. I mean, sound profiles for headphones are definitely a matter of taste but out of the box I found the high frequencies to be PAINFUL, and there was a severe lack of bass. Any budget Bluetooth headphones is going to struggle to achieve wired levels of sound quality but the shrill and piercing highs almost made me immediately return them. (Definitely had to alter the sound profile with the software in order for them to be usable) -for PC, these headphones have so much happening in the audio drivers/devices side of things that your computer will become confused and stop delivering audio correctly. Sometimes these headphones work perfectly but for me it’s been a coin flip. It creates a proxy “discord” audio device for the discord volume dial feature which is fine if you are only running game audio and discord. I had to disable this feature because I would often listen to music while I listen to discord and game, the discord dial can sometime start effecting volumes of programs you don’t want it to, or may not work at all. Aside from The discord features, of these headphones die while your playing a game, sometimes you have to restart the game for it to re-register the headphones as the appropriate audio device, but sometimes it works fine. Sometimes, my Spotify won’t recognize the Arctic 7 audio device as a valid output and won’t play music through them unless the headphones were on when booting Spotify. Sometimes game sounds just stop and for seemingly no reason. Sometimes your computer wont recognize the Arctic’s 7 at all and aside from restarting your computer there’s not much you can do. There’s all sorts of fixes online for stuff like this online, but unless you enjoy uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and making sure weird caches are cleared it’s been easier in my experience to just restart my computer. Maybe it’s from windows updates, or bad software updates, my own personal setup, or whatever, but I’ve checked most of those things and sometimes there’s no clear reason for a glitch. All that being said, if it is working, it will work great for, usually, an entire session (keep in mind, never had ANY issues on PS4). If your audio setup on your PC is super basic (no speakers, no alternate outputs, just running game sound and discord through these phones) then maybe this is perfect for you. Overall: - I use these headphones all the time, but the 3/5 star rating is ultimately because I still have to keep my wired headset around for when these start to glitch out. The sound quality is rough at first but can be evened out, and I bought these headphones to try out a different sound profile then normal. I knew they would be kind of shrill with less bass, and I don’t ultimately fault them for that but with that in mind, if you like bass heavy profiles, look elsewhere. The directionality is spot on and the mids and highs are so sharp it makes in game sound cues like footsteps or gunshots stand out like crazy. However the highs are so powerful that gunshots are so loud you have to active the sound compression algorithm on the headphones in order to keep your ears from (bleeding?) ONLY hearing explosions or gunshots. These headphones have been a joy at times and a source of frustration as well. For 110$, your expectations can’t be too crazy, if you were to buy a high end mic and high end headphones, all with with a built in high quality Bluetooth DACs with software support for listening profiles you would expect to spend 10x that amount. So it’s a solid deal, but what your buying is wireless-ness not audio quality or reliability. If I had to buy another Bluetooth headset I’d probably spend a bit more money and try a different brand, with less features, more reliability, and better ootb sound quality but that’s my personal preference. TLDR: 3/5

I wanted this headset mainly due to that many influencers uses it such as faze and etc. I thought it was going to be the best of the best, but was disappointed. The sound that the headset produces comes out tinny and dried out. I tried to fix the audio by downloading the software and trying out my own settings. I’ve also tried other people’s settings. This headset isn’t known for its noise cancellation feature, so don’t hold too much expectation on that. It doesn’t block out that much noise. You can still hear people within a 10-15ft radius. The build of the headset isn’t up to par, but I can deal with it. The design of the headset, the Way it can swivel makes the frame ridged. I’m not a fan of the band used the adjust the size. If you have a big head the top of the headset bar would sit on your head. It can get uncomfortable especially because it doesn’t have that much padding. Overall I would buy this headset due to the hype surrounding it. I love the matte black it looks sleek. I would not buy this headset for the price even though it’s wireless or Bluetooth. I gave the “Gaming” category a 4/5 due to the hype. I gave the “sound quality” a 3/5 because it’s not the great for the price. I gave the “noise cancellation” a 2/5 because it’s pretty much non existent. If you have the original soft mesh material it’s not going to do much. If you have the leather it’s an improvement, but annoying how you can’t chose before buying.
