> 3 dayComfortable for long periods. 24+ hour battery life. The clearest mic Ive ever used short of prosumer/professional grade kit. All of that, and somehow the sound quality is also amazing. I could gush on end for an hour or more about these. I recommend them to anyone whos budget would afford them. I even bought a second pair because my girlfriend liked mine so much. Ive got 5 different sets of wired cans that are far more expensive than these. Audiophile-grade stuff. For most, there will be very little difference in sound quality. I actually prefer these over the others because they are comfy as well. The only set that actually rivals them is my Sennheisers, but those are on my desk at work. Before I got these and for a while after, I was using a Blue Yeti (one of the ones from before Logitech bought them) for comms with my friends and family. One day, the USB port broke off the Yeti so I started using the mic on these. Everyone said it was better. Said I was clearer than before and there was less background noise despite noise gates and filtering software used with the Yeti. I still bought a replacement, but only for table usage... for one-on-one I still prefer the Arctics mic. Did I mention theyre comfy? I have a fat head and mid-size ears. They fit and cushion perfectly. My Sennheisers feel better, but both of my Fostex sets are lacking in comparison. This is comparing to other, more expensive over-ears mind you. I make the above comparisons because if you go to a bunch of gaming enthusiasts and ask them what kind of gaming headphones you should get, they will ALWAYS tell you to get a good set of cans without a mic. Something youd listen to an album with. My observation is that before I tried these that was indeed what I would recommend. But now Im a believer. Ive use sets from Kingston (HyperX), Razer, Corsair and a few others and none of those could stand up to halfway-decent audiophile targeted cans paired with a standard desk mic. Steelseries made me a believer with the Arctic 7.

Greater than one weekBeen using this headset for about 2 years now. They are a must grab if youre looking for a durable headset with good sound to them. I will say though my biggest complaint will be that eventually you are gonna have to replace the ear pads and headband. My fat head wore out the headband pretty quickly. The ear pads themselves are solid but not comfy if youre using them for hours. I just placed an order for more thick ear pads and a sleeve with padding as a replacement for the headband situation. Besides these complaints, I believe that for a wireless headset this is a solid option.

> 3 dayThe headset materials do not feel cheap, they feel well made and sturdy with the metal band on the top with a rubber matte under side which your head never hits due to the comfortable ski goggle band. The ear cups on this 2019 version are super soft and provide enough cushioning so my ears arent bothered by the speakers and the whole headset is nice and light along with the Arctis 7 being wireless, makes this headset nice and comfortable for long gaming sessions. The mic is great quality and has been notably better than my previous headset (Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma) as noted by my friends through discord (Also the headset is detected up by discord as a certified input/output device). One of the things I dislike (which is also helpful) about the headset is that if you turn the volume wheel above 90% there is a slight static that I hear. This isnt a problem for me as the headset is loud enough where I keep the volume wheel around 70-80%. The static sound actually helps me if I accidentally slide the volume wheel to 100% when I put the headset on I can hear the static and know to reduce the volume under 90% until the static goes away so I wont get blasted by audio when I watch a youtube video or start a game. There is also a Program you can download called the SteelSeries Engine 3 (which isnt needed for the headset to work) to change settings such as mic sidetone, power options, bass enhancement, equlizer, dynamic range compression, surround settings (although the surround sound wasnt as good as my previous Razer Kraken 7.1 headset) and more. There is also apps in the SteelSeries Engine 3 that work along side other SteelSeries devices Such as PrismSync, AudioVisualizer, ImageSync and apps for games and programs like CSGO, Minecraft, iFeelPixel, Tidal (Coming soon), Dota 2, Utopia 9 and Discord. Overall this headset exceeds my expectations and is worth the price. I have only been using the headset for about a week now so I will keep this review updated if I have any problems with it. :D

> 3 dayI was a bit hesitant to spend the money on these as in my experience a lot of gaming headsets are over priced and low quality hardware/software. I really like the software has so many options to tune your sound and create different profiles which I used for testing what worked best for each use (Gaming, Cinema, Music and chat). The quality is great as far as im concerned, even though I was hesitant that Ive seen some pictures of broken parts but after owning these for a few months, Im starting to think it is the user that is mistreating the headphones. I dont treat them like glass but I definitely dont throw mine around in anger or carelessness, mine are on my head or hanging from a stand when not in use. All in all I wouldnt hesitate recommending these to friends and there are so many options out there id say this is definitely worth the money and up there with higher priced headphones. Now for downsides of what ive found so far. There is no documentation on recommended tips for fine tuning your headset, it would be nice to have an explanation of how the features in the software benefit certain sound. For example when gaming in Warzone it is nice to hear footsteps but not have it so loud that when youre in a car or gunfight you cant hear your team mates cause the chat is so low. It took some testing to get this ironed out. There needs to be better documentation on how to optimally configure your headset on different platforms whether it is PC or a consol. Secondly Ive noticed my battery life isnt measure correctly in the app, although I havent tried to uninstall/reinstall or much troubleshooting, It is something Ive seen others mentioned. I have a feeling I could fix it, just havent put time to it but thought it was worth mentioning. (Battery life is great btw)

> 3 dayI did a bunch of research on a new headset(with or without a mic). I asked around to a discord I am in (1k+ members) and they suggested a bunch this one was with in my budget and was mentioned a lot. I love it. When I was away at school, I would walk around(playing VR), go make food(Listening to music or chatting), and yes actually play games with it. I never had connection issues when I was in the one story house. NOW that may have you think oh one story house so he has issues now. Actually the only time I have connection issues is now when I leave the two story house I am in and go down the drive way. Ill lose connection. (receiver is on the second floor in my room). It does how ever reconnect as soon as it can. I have lost some connections when I was all the way across the house down a floor. But thats because I am wayyyy outside the normal range these are meant to run at. Plus it reconnects pretty easily! The mic is great, Ive had no issues nor complaint from anyone(I stream and Voice Chat a lot). I have an sound/audio setup that has an AT2020 mic. Personally Ive been using this headset more now. The mic on it s good quality plus the ability to mute it by just reaching up and hitting a button is awesome. (leave the mic boom push all the way in). I can change the volume of game AND chat on the fly plus the actual volume of everything combined really easy. Really helps with someone wont shut up in discord and Im trying to listen to something in game. I can also set it to where I can hear my music but the game more. Which is awesome. It has a little notch/grove setting for game/chat volume control which is normally perfect! Over all 10/10, 5/7 product!

> 3 dayI returned my turtle beach wireless headset due to mic and connectivity issues and got these instead. I did an unbelievable amount of research on what gaming headset to get as I hate buying a pair I dont end up liking and get stuck with them. There are SO many different gaming headsets nowadays it was not easy picking one to buy. This headset was everything I wanted. To keep it short and sweet, Ill just list the pros and cons... Pros: Quality materials (no cheap creaking plastics) Very comfortable (not too tight or too loose, ear pads very soft) Great sound and dynamic range (fully adjustable in app) Quality mic (fully adjustable and retractable) Independent master volume dial 2nd dial to adjust the game chat and game volume blend. Mic mute button (mic lights up red when muted) Mic monitoring is a HUGE plus. You can enable with the app so you can hear yourself talking through your mic. This helps you talk normally and not yell due to your hearing being sealed off from ambient noise. It also helps equalize the pressure in the ear cups which adds to comfort and minimizes ear fatigue. Without it, your ears can begin to feel weird after a while from being so isolated within the ear cups (at least for me). Great wireless range. Stayed connected even when I left the room with them on. 3.5mm headphone cable included so you can plug them into your controller (in case you prefer wired connection). Rock solid battery life (power button lights up different colors to tell u what percent battery is left). Cons: None so far. Will update review if something comes up.

> 3 dayI love my Arctis 7s, theyre incredibly comfortable and the sound quality is very good (from a non-audiophile). I wear them almost every workday for the whole day while Im on meetings, in addition to using them for PC gaming. It was plug-and-play on both Windows and Linux, and they have become my go-to headphones for being on airplanes (using the included wire to connect to my phone). The charge lasts for a long time, though I typically charge them whenever Im not using them anyway. They arent noise cancelling, but they muffle it pretty well (I often get snuck up on by my family when I am wearing them). I dont really use the included mic, since I have a better usb mic, but when Linux resets to using the headset mic my coworkers can immediately tell because of the decrease in sound quality. The adjustable ski goggles strap is nice, it makes the headset feel lighter and helps it sit at exactly the right height. That said, the headphones are a bit lose and will fall off if I lean too far forward or backward.

11-06-2025I spend multiple hours researching wireless over-the-ear headsets and finally came down to the Arctis 5 and the 7. I however did not put the 9 or Pro series in the mix due to my use-case and cost. From a gaming perspective, the audio switching from game to discord voice chat is amazing, given that I select the correct audio option (there is a Game and Chat option for audio to make this work correctly). Its so convenient to fade out the game audio to hear voice chat a little better rather than digging through game options mid game and wasting time, especially when seconds matter. Same with when my friends are talking too loud and I need to focus on the game. From a music/audio perspective, this headset offers a very good audio mixer to adjust playback to the exact way I like to listen to music. The 7.1 surround makes movies sound exactly as they were intended to be watched. Battery life is amazing, Im able to use the headset all day and then some on just a single charge, which was a huge deal for me. I had a pair of wired Razer Megalodons before this and was worried that battery life was going to be an issue, but so far Ive been blown away by the 7s performance. Ive used the mic one time during a voice chat session and was immediately told it sounded terrible when compared to my Blue Snowball. So if you do not have an external mic, do not expect perfection from this headset. But, this is common among headset mics.

> 3 dayOkay, these SHOULD be pretty nice headphones for $150, BUT there are quite a few caveats that put me off of these. I noticed a few other reviews mention these issues. These issues bothered me so much I returned them. Simply NOT worth the price! First off, I wear headphones 12-18 hours a day, 7 days a week. For work, recreation, and to help me fall asleep. I know headphones, and have a decent collection of a dozen or so. 1) HOLY DISTORTION, BATMAN! Listening to music at volumes any of my other headphones can handle (including the cheap-o $30 bluetooth units), these units produce massive amounts of distortion. I cannot believe how bad these are at volumes over 50%! Give it one tonal range to cover, and it seems to do okay, but toss in two or three (like bass guitar and a high-hat at the same time.... or, ya know, almost all music) and suddenly you cant make out what youre listening to anymore. 2) The volume roller is EXTREMELY easy to accidentally adjust. I mean, unbelievably easy. I am CONSTANTLY messing with the volume when adjusting the headphones or mic, and since its so loose its almost impossible to dial in just the right volume. Very very annoying! 3) Theres no media controls on these. Why? A push-button volume button combination would easily solve the too easy to adjust volume, and allow media controls through long presses. 4) The ear pieces are EXTREMELY hot. I wear headphones quite a bit, but these burn my ears up in a matter of minutes, which makes me adjust or remove them temporarily. This also reiterates point #2 in that the volume knob is ALWAYS being adjusted by accident. 5) These block absolutely no out-side sound, and people often can hear what I am listening to or playing. This doesnt make sense since the ear-pads dont seem to allow ANY airflow. 6) The mic disable button turns ON a light........ What? So when your mic is on, theres no light. When you mic is OFF, such as when listening to music, hanging out, whatever, theres BRIGHT RED LED on 100% of the time....... Huh???? How does this make sense? 7) the audio volume is easily 1/3 of every other headphone I own. I crank every setting up to 100% just to be equal to 30% on any other headset... Why? 8) mic is garbage!!!! I cant imagine anyone with any sense of intelligence thinking this mic is anything other than painfully sub par. Everything either sounds tinny, or incredibly digital (like using one of those $5 voice oscillators that make you sound like a robot. 9) while the ear pads do go around your ears, the speaker mesh is too shallow and will contact your ears. This makes it unbearable by itself, but combined with every other issue..... 10) FINALLY the surround sound effect is negligable. Playing the same surround sound tests, I cannot tell a difference between regular 2.0 phones and these. At all. Theres also a VERY VERY VERY specific place you HAVE to position these, or youll only hear about 70% of what its putting out. Unfortunately the VERY SPECIFIC spot these must be placed is absolutely HORRIBLE. You must bend and fold your ears to position them even remotely correctly. 11) I know I said 10 was the final number, but it brings me to another point. These are so uncomfortable in almost every way. After a short session your jaw will hurt, as the bottoms press right into the hinge of your jaw, your ears will hurt and be sweaty from the complete lack of ventilation (its like putting your ears in a wool coat in July in Florida -- a swamp!) From a company that specializes in headphones, these are full of awfully poor design choices! One of the worst overall headsets Ive ever owned. Do not recommend to anyone for any purpose!

> 3 dayArctis 7 wireless headset. First off, I am playing on a PS4 for a month now. It seems those with software issues must be on PC as there is no software anywhere in sight for my setup. Ease of use 5 stars. Plug in the dongle and turn on the headset. Boom, it works. Take a break, walk to the kitchen 40 feet away and still hear your team talking and game sound the same as being in the game room. Audio 5 stars. I have had no issues with audio quality. It has rich sound and is very directional. Microphone 3 stars. It works, but clan mates say its quiet. Had to turn up dialogue volume to max on the PS4. Mic has to stay close to my mouth. Pull on the retractable mic too much and it makes a beep. No microphone monitor, which means you cant hear yourself talk (which leads to others not being able to hear you talk and you wont know it until they tell you). Comfort 4 stars. I have a 7 5/8 hat size which is large. I adjusted the material about as big as I could make it and while its not the most comfy, I can wear it for an hours-long raid in Destiny 2 without pain. Charging - 2 stars. USB-2 charging, but its iffy at best. Plug it in and hope its charging. The mic red light comes on but after an overnight charge it still shows yellow on the power button. Turn it off again, then on again, and sometimes the light will be green. Charging port does seem to be finicky, which is suboptimal. Battery life - 5 stars. When its fully charged it lasts for multiple long afternoon/evening play time. Overall I can put up with the above issues. But next time Ill probably go with something else. Update 12-27-2021 Now using with a PS5. Plugged in the dongle and the console found it immediately. Still not the most comfy headset on the planet but it works. If you charge it overnight and turn it off before unplugging it, the charge light turns green. If you unplug it then turn it on, the charge light is yellow like the day before. Odd. Durability is good but I dont throw things... The mic is still not great for me, but again, turning up the dialogue volume on the PS5 addresses that. Probably about 70% volume so people can Hera me. Now they hear me breathing though. Balance is not easy to find in this area. Sound is still good. Im not sure the PS4 or 5 support 7.1 sound, but it is directional and in the few occasions Ive put it on backwards, I noticed right away I did something dumb lol... I still wouldnt buy it again because of the oddities it has. It works, but I think for the money you should be able to get a much better headset in terms of comfort and usability.
