> 24 hourI was hesitant to buy this because I usually like to smell a soap first before buying it. But at the end of the day, I am glad I bought it! It smells great and it makes a nice thick lather. I also found it to be kind of a thirsty soap. It can accept a lot of water!

> 24 hourThis soap is great. I load either of my badger brushes for about 15-20 seconds and start a small mix in a separate cup and face lather. Wonderful. I add a little water at a time as it goes on thick, ( read yogurt, not 2 inches thick), and then it smoothes out with some water. Great shave and no irritation, doesnt feel dry afterwards but it feels like it washes very clean. Everything I wanted. I have tried Proraso Green and Red soaps, both are solid soaps at a great price. Trumpers cream, another good soap and Truefitt and Hill which is the worst soap short of a very cheap one I used to use.

> 24 hourNot cheap at about 28$ - the refills can be had for about 20. This contains tallow - rendered animal fat. This is the secret sauce missing from 99% of shaving creams / soaps. This is where it gets its excellent lubrication from. As gross as it may sound, it works. Not like it smells like a can of beef. This smells like a wonderful old-school barbershop shave lotion. I really like the smell. As mentioned, the lubrication is great, the smell is wonderful, lathers well, and lasts. One can of this stuff should last you probably close to a year. So, the economics of it arent really so bad. You could buy the cheaper stuff, but youd have to buy a lot of it, so I feel like the cost is probably about break-even when compared with others. Ive come to find out that I like mitchells wool fat shaving soap a little better, but this stuff is still excellent. Give it a try, you cant go wrong.

> 24 hourHow many times have I heard myself say that? And admitting that its been around as long as Ii have doesnt help! (Tabac Original came out in 1959, the same year i was born). This is an amazing product! The lather is creamier than anything Ive tried thus far in my (as yet short) wet-shaving history. It loads up in no time, and then I stick it in the scuttle until Im ready for it. When I do, its warm and even creamier, so it covers your beard quickly, and starts to soften the hair immediately. By the time I put the razor to my face, it glides along my face like a downhill skier!

> 24 hourFirst the bad: the smell leaves a bit to be desired. It basically smells like baby powder. Not bad, but nothing remarkable. The good: Consistently gives the best shaves I have ever had. It handily outperforms Proraso menthol/eucalyptus (one of my favorites for the smell) and even Truefitt and Hill creams, which is saying something.
