> 3 dayTabac is a wetshaving favorite, and for good reason. It lathers easily, is very protective, and comes in a nice jar. The scent is mild and short-lived. Highly recommended.

21-11-2024I ordered this soap as a splurge-type of thing based on the reviews. Usually I dont buy things like this without smelling them first, but I have no complaints at all. The lather is foamy and slick, even though my water is harder than hell, and it smells like a barber shop. Its a nice change of pace from the menthol and mint stuff I usually use.

> 3 dayI don’t like the scent of Tabac. But now when I smell it I know a wonderful shave is about to happen. People who have Tabac dry out on their face usually have underhydrated the lather. It is a thirsty soap. Underhydrating will diminish slickness and cause your razor to clog more easily. Hydrate that lather. I ignore the scent now because my face feels so great after a Tabac shave. But I certainly don’t use the balm or the aftershave. That is just too much Tabac smell. I just grab a classic aftershave, Proraso green, Speick, Lucky Tiger, Pinaud Clubman, whatever—and it makes the Tabac smell go away instantly. And my face still has that great Tabac post shave feel. Enough guys swear by this stuff, even with its controversial scent profile, that I’d rate it a safe blind buy. I got the Tabac shaving stick first and after many great travel shaves that initial shaving stick is still going strong. There are some guys who will only shave with a stick, and the Tabac stick may be the greatest one out there. It outperforms Speick’s stick, Spain’s La Toja, Turkey’s Arko, Britain’s Derby and even the mighty Palmolive stick. I have so many excellent soaps and creams that I often forget just how great Tabac is. It never fails to remind me when I use it. If you have never used a shaving soap and brush before, why not start with the top of the chain? This stuff lathers better than 90% of the shaving soaps out there. The main mistake guys make is not getting it slick enough by shaving with their lather too dry. Even then you get a good shave, but go for that rich, moisture-laden, slick lather and you will be rewarded. I will always have Tabac in my den somewhere.

> 3 dayThis is super nice shave soap!!! The scent takes a bit getting used to but after awhile I’ve grown to love it. It gives exceptional shaves. This soap holds it’s own against all the top luxury shave soaps on the market. I would definitely buy again for myself or as a gift.

> 3 dayGreat lather. IMHO, not as good as a few, but way better than most. Scent is not my favorite. Slight citrus, but also a little tobacco.

> 3 dayTabac is simply the best triple milled, tallow based shave soap around. The base scents are bergamot, neroli and lavender. It provides a subdued floral yet masculine aroma. Another reviewer stated 7 or 8 swirls with the brush is enough, but I believe you should go longer. Spend 20 or 30 secs. loading your brush with paste and then spend another 60 to 90 secs. whipping shave lather in a mug or bowl. You will be rewarded with the richest, creamiest, slickest lather youve ever come across. It shaves simply wonderfully leaving the skin hydrated and moist afterwards. For many wet shavers Tabac is the measuring stick by which all others are measured. Used with a quality badger brush and a DE razor you are in for shaving-zen.
