Tabac Original By Maurer & Wirtz For Men. Shaving Soap Bowl 4.4 Ounces

How many times have I heard myself say that? And admitting that its been around as long as Ii have doesnt help! (Tabac Original came out in 1959, the same year i was born). This is an amazing product! The lather is creamier than anything Ive tried thus far in my (as yet short) wet-shaving history. It loads up in no time, and then I stick it in the scuttle until Im ready for it. When I do, its warm and even creamier, so it covers your beard quickly, and starts to soften the hair immediately. By the time I put the razor to my face, it glides along my face like a downhill skier!

Ive read reviews that say this product either has too much scent, or not enough scent. Those reviews also state that the scent that is observed is too short lived. Well, to each their own, I say. For me, the scent is moderate to light, but not overwhelming, and it smells like several barber shops Ive used (Tipmans Talc, maybe?). The hang time of the scent is noticeable for about 3-4 hours, to me. I also think my cologne lasts that long, too, but Ive had compliments on that long after I thought it was spent, so its also likely you get used to it and just become nose-blind to it, too. In my opinion, it is easier to lather than Mitchells Wool Fat, but it seems thinner. It is just as slick to shave with as MWF, in my opinion. In short, if you are experimenting with something that smells good, lathers quickly, and lasts a while, I would recommend Tabac.

I have used over 75 soaps over my shaving career. About 50 are tallow based. I have never found a better overall performer than Tabac. I like the scent but do not love it. This is the soap I often use the day after a bad shave from another brand because Tabac is so protective. I understand someone not liking the scent, but I can find no flaws at all with performance. Economically, I can generally find the soap refill for $11-$13 dollars and since it is a hard soap, the cost per shave is actually less than almost anything on the market, much less than many of the artisan soaps I use and enjoy. Great glide and protection. Just a joy to use.

Reminds me of Old Spice with a hint of sandalwood. Smells more expensive than it is. Great lather. Slick. No cuts. Good stuff. I like the milk glass cup and will keep using it when I get a refill of the soap!

Have about 25 soaps now , so it was time to try the great TABAC..Bloomed the soap, and I saw it from my shower..It was bubbling..Never saw that before..Now for the shave..Lathered well..To me, the scent was next to zero..I did, however, get a GREAT shave with it..the after shave was less than exciting, however..So I reapplied with Gingers Garden Havana Cognac..Much better.. For the money, with what I know now, I would pass..

This soap makes me feel like I could chop down a tree with an axe, dig a ditch with a pickaxe, and kill a bear with a hunting knife. Not only does it feel great when it is applied, it gets every whisker to stand at attention and die like a hero. Since I started using this over a run of the mill shave gel, Ive noticed less irritation on my neck and havent had razor burn. Smells great, and leaves you feeling like a manlier man.

Easy lather and smells great. Classic!

Have used the product for two weeks with Plisoft 22 mm and a Omega model? I add a few drops of water to the soap and soak the Boar brush and just wet the Plisoft and there is no problem getting a face lather, but what I like best is the smell roses citrus and of course tobacco and as I shave the tobacco (former smoker) come out more not over powering, Love this soap.[[ASIN:B01AKQCTZM Tabac Original For Men By Maurer & Wirtz Soap Bowl]

I will be brief. This product has many detailed reviews so I will just say this shave soap is the best I have come across. The lather, the scent and the lubrication are all first class. This will definitely be a repeat purchase for me. Try it and you will see.
