> 3 dayThis stuff is great! The lather is very smooth and the smell reminds me of an old time barber shop. I really enjoy shaving with this soap.

> 3 dayIm back to shaving with a DE razor after about 30 years of using cheap double blade disposables. I started with an Edwin Jagger DE86 and the Tabac shaving soap and couldnt believe how smooth my face was. And the smell of the Tabac is fantastic -- that old barbershop smell that I love. I get the soap on my damp brush, then on to one side of my fact. Then I do the same thing or the left side of my face. Then my chin and neck. After that, I start working up the lather, first on my face, then chin, then neck. Tabac makes a perfect lather -- not too thin and not just a pile of foam so you cant even see your face. Its just awesome. You may want to try other soaps and creams for the fun of it, but pick up a jar of Tabac Original for your core shaving kit. Youll be glad you did

> 3 dayI seem to prefer creams and am picky about my soaps. I appear to be down to just liking this soap, DR Harris Arlington, and Mitchells Wool Fat of the ~10 Ive tried. Tabac has that nice fresh and clean scent I like. It also lathers up quite nicely... albeit after a bit more work than the creams take!

> 3 dayThis is one of the nicest shaving soaps available anywhere in the world. It quickly forms a rich thick lather and provides excellent lubrication for a very smooth shave. It has prolonged my blade life far beyond what I used to get when using a canned goo and Tabac provides a wonderful scent not found anywhere else. Another advantage over the canned goos is this one jar will last literally for a year or more. Between this and my tub of Proraso, I am set for a long, long time.

> 3 dayLets address the most common complaint with Tabac first, the scent. I love this scent. It smells like an old fashioned barbershop to me with a delightful powdery kick. Admittedly I dont dislike many soaps, but out of all the soaps o do have, which is at least 20, tabac is in the top 5 easy abs probably the topoint 3. With that being said, if you find that you dont like new soaps at times, especially more old fashioned type soaps, Id stay away from this until you can smell it before buying. I keep my bowl of Tabac on my counter at all times because I love to just pick it up and smell it randomly and it looks great sitting there. (Picture provided) As far as the quality of the lather. Its top notch shave soap. We have very hard water here in the Great Basin Desert and this soap lathers up to a superb yogurt like consistency. Im not greedy when I apply it to my face either, I love to apply a thick coat. I use a bowl to lather because it produces so much and it is very fast in getting where it needs to be. Great protection and slickness. Post shave feel is amazing as well. I use the Tabac balm and aftershave as well and my face feels AMAZING all day. The only way you go wrong with Tabac is if you fall in the minority with the scent. It might not be for you, but it sure is one of my favorites.

> 3 dayI ordered this soap as a splurge-type of thing based on the reviews. Usually I dont buy things like this without smelling them first, but I have no complaints at all. The lather is foamy and slick, even though my water is harder than hell, and it smells like a barber shop. Its a nice change of pace from the menthol and mint stuff I usually use.

> 3 dayIve been a wet shaver for many years and have tried more shaving brush creams and soaps than I can count. There are a few that come close to this one but none surpass it in quality of lather or shaving results.
