Another great shaving soap. Yes it may smell like your elderly aunts purse but the quality is truly one of the best you can find. The lather is of very high quality, thick and the lubrication is just about the best you can find anywhere at any price. I highly recommend this this one in the porcelain tub. Did I mention how really thick this soap is? You can really feel the weight of it on your brush once youve lathered it properly and by the way, its quite easy to lather. Yes its been around quite a long time but some of the best soaps, while you may prefer other scents, you cant deny the high quality of the formulation that they use. This is one of the great golden oldies of the wet shaving world and I can highly recommend it

Great soap in the tallow version (the new version without tallow came out in 2021 and I have not used it. The scent is great. Many people dont like it and consider it too strong. I dont see that. In fact, compared to many of the over the top scented soaps from some of the newer artisan soap makers the scent is quite mild and somewhat soapy. More like the old school soaps like DR Harris, Taylor of Old Bond Street, Mitchells Woolfat, Haslingers, albeit a bit stronger. Lathers easily in hard water and produces a slick lather with great residual properties and post shave feel. I bought a second puck of the tallow version when I discovered the tallow version was discontinued. The non-tallow version might be great, but I wouldnt know.

I will be brief. This product has many detailed reviews so I will just say this shave soap is the best I have come across. The lather, the scent and the lubrication are all first class. This will definitely be a repeat purchase for me. Try it and you will see.

Expensive, but what you pay its worth

I have liked the Tabac products and odor for 40 years.

Tabac is an excellent soap. I like the fact that it builds such a high quality lather with so little effort. I also happen to like the scent, so this is an overall winner for me. With the exception of some of the artisan soaps, youre not going to find many better than this.

The scent is fantastic, very nice bowl, and the lather is top notch. I will definitely purchase this again and recommend it to others.

The soap is amazing - perhaps the best. The scent can be polarizing, but I find it an undeniable classic. The performance is top shelf... There is a wide water tolerance sweet spot. The lather is extremely slick and protective.

This is an excellent soap for me, and I wont rehash the other positive reviews. Just try it. Some cant stand the scent strength. It does mellow out after some time. But I dont buy shaving soap for the SMELL. I buy it to shave with.:) Best used with a good boar brush (Semogue for me) Or a dense badger brush.

I have been using this shave soap for a few months now and I must say that I dont feel the need to try anything else. The scent of this soap is that of a old-time barbershop, its almost nostalgic. The lather is created almost effortlessly, 7 or 8 swirls with a good brush and you have something that looks like cool-whip. If youre looking for an extremely close shave, and a wonderful scent buy this shave soap. You wont regret it.
