> 24 hourGreat soap but as some have mentioned the smell isnt for everyone. My 5 stars are for the functionality of the soap. I hate reviews where the product works perfectly well, but it gets two stars because the buyer had a bad shipping experience. My GF is sensitive to overdone scents, but it turns out she actually really likes this one. Another reason it gets kudos is there is much less waste using a shaving soap vs a canned foam shaving cream. Very little to no garbage if properly wrapped.

> 24 hourThey say youll either love the scent of Tabac, or hate it. I guess Im unusual because, well, I sort of like it. Tabac has a cool, soapy scent that is pleasant, but not my favorite by any means. You can build a good lather with Tabac, which gives a good shave, but I still favor my tube of Proraso. The packaging and bowl (which is glass) are of very good quality. Nice presentation. edit: Ive upped my rating to five stars. The Tabac has really started to grow on me. Very easy to lather, and provides a top-notch shave. The scent reminds me of just-showered clean now. Tabac is my favored shave soap now.

> 24 hourNice solid ceramic bowl. The scent is somewhat strong but not in a horrible way. Foams up nicer than a few other soaps Ive tried (e.g. Taylor of Bond Street) I prefer a more understated scent but this is fine.

> 24 hourYeah this shaving soap is pretty awesome. Soak your brush in warm water for a few minutes then work the soap. Watch it explode. I bring the loaded brush up to my skin and lather on the face directly. Makes a thick, creamy, phenomenal lather. The scent is strong at first, but after a few uses it greatly subsides. Now it just smells like a very lightly scented soap. So I wouldnt let too many comments about the scent steer you away. Cant go wrong.

> 24 hourIve tried several different shaving soaps and creams, but I always come back to this one. Easy to lather, and gives me a creamy, lubricated shave every time. The scent is unique and grows on you. Danke schön.

> 24 hourTabac is excellent when it comes to lathering, cushioning, and slickness. It is is one of my favorite non-artisan shaving soaps. A great old-school barbershop scent. I will always have it in my collection. Compared to other brands, the Tabac container version is on the pricier side. The refills are more reasonably priced. But Tabac is still a 5-star shaving soap for me.

> 24 hourYee Haw! I’ve been wet shaving since 1967, and this is the best shaving soap I have come across yet! It lathers thick and rich and provides an awesome layer of comfort and protection. If you nick yourself you almost have to try. I just wish I had purchased it sooner. I have several shave soaps that I use in rotation, but I think this is undoubtedly the best. You just gotta give this one a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

> 24 hourGreat scent, doesnt linger much, the lather is copious, verrrry slippery and quite hydrating -- drys out slower than, for example, Taylor of Old Bond Street sandalwood. The white ceramic tub is a very nice touch, and has a clean, modern, almost bauhaus, very German design (while the English soaps come in an Olde World, Distinguished-Gentleman kind of container.) This soap really rewards a very light touch on that blade. I swear the blade cuts better with this than with barbasol goop or TooBS soap.
