The buttons were at an angle and didnt line up with the holes on the bracket. Tried our best to finagle them, but to no avail. Happened with both sets that we purchased. Returning.

Easy install and solid support, wont fit my vinyl window track well enough to use.

I loved this easy to assemble, adjustable, very sturdy brace for my window a/c unit. Unfortunately, I could not use it because the shape of the actual air conditioner and window sill combination did not allow the a/c to rest on the brace properly. Bummer—it was exactly what I needed, and would have made seasonal removal so much easier. So there is slightly more to it than measuring the dimensions as suggested in the instructions, but I’m not sure how I would have known without buying it and trying it. (I have the very popular GE Profile PHC08LYQ1 (6150 BTU) and the similar 8100 BTU. They have the same cabinet, so didn’t work with either one, but the problem was how the a/c had to sit in my particular window frame).

Purchased this specific model because the window is visible from the street and we wanted to be able to remove the AC when no longer needed without leaving an ugly support in place. I think they designed it to support twice the weight of any model AC just in case. Incredibly sturdy and the pins allow for minute adjustment to ensure a perfect angle for your AC to drain. Only draw back is just how much more it costs than a standard model. Bit too much more. I would have continued to shop around but were out of time with company arriving.

With this platform/bracket feel way safer wrestling to put a +60lbs, unwieldy, fragile in the back, pain in the everywhere ac unit in. 30 secs to put together, 5 stars. Once in properly really sturdy and easy to maneuver big ac in place, 5 stars. Getting properly in place, 3 stars for 2 easy to fix problems. First, the feet should not be able to flip a full 180°, a small bit of metal would have saved me 10 minutes of thinking got legs at right lengths only to discover the feet had flipped...again. Second, the legs push pins popped out of place, which meant I had to remove the leg from the frame, fish the metal clip out, and pop the pins back in holes. This happened on both legs. A simple fix would be put a piece between the pins so they cant be popped completely out of the holes of legs but could still be adjusted on the holes of the frame. Just saying that these are easily fixed issues and should have been awhile ago. Also, maybe make the arch on the front of the frame 1/2inch longer for those of us who need to put a 2×4 under frame to lift over frame of window.

Yes, it doesnt fit windows without a ledge on the outside of the window. But it looked a bit sturdier than others on the market, and the seller does state that it wont work with windows without an outside sill, so not theyre fault. I was able to make it work by getting a wide lead bar and a 1X3 board from the hardware store and using it as a brace on the inside of the window buy inserting them both into the hollow space in the front wings that go on the inside of the window. Both extend out a few inches and brace it against the inside molding of the window on each side. The metal bar was because I have a heavier AC, and the board would have bowed. Not the best solution, but it did look sturdier than the others on the market so Im not sending it back. Some of the other brands only had 1 stabilizing foot in the middle, I like that this has 2. And I like the fact that I dont have to drill holes in my window sill. So Ill nix one star because I wish it fit windows without an outside ledge. Oh, and the holes arent supposed to line up on the leg depth adjustment. Its a little confusing, but it was designed that way to allow you to make more subtle depth adjustments and still keep the metal sturdy by having fewer holes drilled into the metal. Kind of confusing, but I understood why once I started trying to adjust them. Im happy I dont have to drill holes into my window sill.

The bracket is sturdy metal. It goes together and installs easily and should work well. The problem with mine is the front support wing lock pin was broken upon arrival and sitting in the bottom of the box. Some of the paint is also chipped, which will cause faster rusting in Seattle weather. I can fix this, but should not have to for this price. I am waiting for a reply from their customer service and hope they will just send a replacement wing rather than having to hassle returning the whole thing. If they send a replacement, Ill be able to increase the sturdiness to 4 stars The leg lock pins do not go into both holes at the same time as some others noted. I thought they were broken, but the instructions note only one pin locks at a time. *Update 7/8/21: The Top Shelf Team was quick and responsive. They replied quickly and sent a new wing to replace the broken one. Kudos and thank you to them. Upgraded rating to 4 stars.

My 22,000 btu unit and I think most large ac units require the outside metal cabinet be installed and secured first. Then the actual ac unit is lifted up and slides into the cabinet from the home interior pushing the unit outward thru the window and into the cabinet. The ac units bottom is a tray that has all the components bolted to it. The bottom tray of the ac unit is the bottom of the whole air conditioner so the cabinet itself has a large opening in the bottom. Problem is the cabinet is open at the bottom with slide rails on each side. The cabinet falls down and around the bracket unsupported. Once installed the ac units bottom tray will rest on the bracket but the cabinet needs to be supported at during installation.

I now have four of these brackets. They are very useful for installing any window air conditioner. Even the smallest A/C units weigh 30-40 lbs and that is a lot of weight to be moving around in awkward ways. I first bought one for my daughter after she dropped her A/C out her back window. It is important to visit the Top Shelf website to see if the unit is compatible with your window and wall thickness before purchasing. You dont need to use any fasteners with it but there are two holes that can be used to screw it to the window frame and I have used a couple of screws to attach mine. Although the price seemed a bit high to me at first, after seeing how inferior some lower cost units were in comparison, I think they are a good value.

Although this support seems expensive, its worth every penny. It make your install a breeze. No tools needed for the support at all, only for the AC curtains (a screwdriver). I take that back. I did need a small level for the support to get the air conditioner draining correctly. Correction: Im pretty sure if I remember right, I think it has a built-in level.
