> 3 dayAMAZING bracket. I have never owned one before now, but I cannot imagine there being a better product. No tools, assembles in under two minutes, lightweight but STRONG. It sits in the window, you adjust it to fit better and voila, the perfect platform for your A/C unit. The A/C unit slides onto it like a knife through warm butter. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Every penny. Spend the money on quality and innovation.

> 3 dayVERY easy to set up, but you do need to poke your head out of the window to make sure the feet are flat on the wall. If you dont do that, and something jostles the air conditioner, I can imagine dire things happening. The instruction booklet, like ALL instruction booklets, could use some work. Maybe larger, clearer illustrations. But, its true, you dont need any tools. One last thing - you need to use alternate methods to fill the gaps created using this bracket. There will be areas in front of and underneath the bracket to fill. Not a problem - I used bubble wrap. Bottom line - I feel that the entire unit is safer, and therefore, we are safer using it.

> 3 dayI was surprised that it was as good as they said it was . It had all the parts only a couple of dings in it so all I had to do was put a heavy spray seal on it just like new . Not often you get an item that’s $76.00 for $17.00 . Works great

> 3 dayThis device is strong, well designed and super easy to install IF you have the right kind of windows. Which i did not... Fortunately my ac unit sits in a first floor window (in the back yard and surrounded by fencing) so i was able to make a work around and still use the bracket. I REALLY wanted a bracket that did not require drilling holes in the window frame because i just installed new windows and DID NOT want to put ANY holes in the frames!!! Because my windows were not what this bracket was designed to work with i ran into two problems. Getting the ac unit to sit flush with the window and getting the bracket to brace against the outside wall. You can see from the pix I included how i managed to do that but heres the detail if youre interested: The website specs say you need a minimum of 6 from inside wall to outside wall, which I do, BUT, they dont mention (until you buy it and read the instructions that come with the bracket...) that the measurement HAS to actually be from the inside frame of the window (not the inside wall) to the outside wall of the house. They presume a sill on the outside of the house not on the inside. My windows have an inside sill and not an outside sill. Consequently we had to jump through numerous hoops to get the unit secured so it was relatively airtight to the window. I added a small piece of foam packaging to sit between the metal bar and the window frame, so the metal bar that is supposed to rest directly on the window frame would not damage the frame. I also had to devise a styro fitting to go all around the unit (inside and out) because (as I have heard mentioned in other reviews) there was a huge gap between the ac units wings and the window frame, like 1/2 inch of more! But the biggest problem, if you dont have enough depth between the inside window frame and the outside wall, is the legs on the bracket as designed, will not reach the outside wall, so there is nothing to hold the bracket in place. If you dont have a first floor window then most people have to nail some wood into their outside wall so the legs can rest against that. That means holes in the outside wall of your house (not good) and trying to affix the wood to usually brick or in my case stucco (not easy). So i finally opted to scrap using the legs to the brace and went with a wood brace that extends from the underside of the bracket to the ground. I treated the wood so it will last longer and set it on a brick so it wasnt directly on the ground (to minimize attracting termites). You do have to be sure you get the proper amount of slope so the ac unit tilts down so the condensation will run outside. The bracket is well made and if you have the kind of windows it is made for you are golden. If not there are some things you can do, if you really dont want to put holes in you window frames or house. I sure would like to see them make a couple models so that more people could take advantage of the easy install feature (took us about 4 hours to problem solve and install this baby) but now that its there, i am super happy I went to the trouble of trying to make it work!

Very solid
> 3 dayProduct is very solid and fits really well into my window frame. Did slightly adjust where the AC lines up with my window so the lip doesn’t exactly align, and some air gaps increased, but that’s because I have an old style house where the side panels don’t line up with where the window slide open. Some rolled up towels were able to seal the gaps. Definitely feel much better about having my window AC above the front of the house, especially if we experience any big earthquakes, I feel like this will actually stay in the window now. Anyways, my product had a slight defect (defects happens even with the best product manufacture design), I reached out to customer service, and they sent me a replacement piece right away. Replacement piece works great. Would buy again.

> 3 dayThis Black & Decker bracket is very well made, and we thought it was exactly what we wanted for easy mount and dismount of our tiny A/C unit, which we only use 2½ mos out of the year. Unfortunately, it sounds more like a universal fit than it really is, regardless of the many adjustments you can make for both the interior and exterior wings/legs (half stops for the exterior = wonderful). Though we finally found a place for the gripper feet on the exterior legs to lay flat against our siding, it left the bracket at an incline instead of a decline, which is of course the opposite of what you want with an air conditioner because of condensate concerns. We tried numerous times (literally a dozen different adjustments!) to get it to work, but it was impossible for it to be snug on the frame inside and at the proper angle outside. Plus, it left huge gaps beneath the A/C unit on both sides. Also, we feel it was made for larger units and that this should be noted. We purchased the very popular and best-selling Frigidaire unit here on Amazon, which is tiny and only 40 lbs. It just barely fit (like by a mere half inch) when centered on the bracket, and kept slipping between the vertical legs/supports—to the extent that we went online to look for rubbery bits to apply to either the A/C or the bracket, and then we thought, What are we doing?! This just wont work for us. Amazon processed our return without a hitch. (And honestly, later drilling three holes in the bottom of our vinyl-clad window was absolutely NO big deal—and it left no gaps.) Bottom line: Its well made, and an attractive color (the dark grey). But know that even if you measure all surfaces and areas, and everything looks as though it will be a perfect fit, its still possible this bracket is not going to work for you. However, Id still recommend it if you have a more standard size A/C unit and a flatter exterior surface like brick or stucko. Siding is tough because of the way the rows cut off, and you just wont know if this will work until you have it in your hands for a trial. Thankfully Amazon is good with returns if youre prompt with your trials.

> 3 dayI bought 4 of these. These look like pretty high-quality materials and build. Heck, even the packaging was top-notch. I did find that I had to add a block of wood between the siding and the feet of the unit(s) as I dont have an outer window sill, and therefore my wall to window frame space was smaller than this bracket was rated for. Also, since many windwos are different, the instructions while good, didnt really show me enough to be sure my install was secure. The whole bracket really only holds itself in with these tabs on either side, and the legs. Theyre designed that way and work well, but Ill admit, I wasnt completely sure until I put a 100+lb AC on it and it didnt budge.

> 3 dayThis was easy to assemble. It looks nice from the outside. We live in a second story condo and put it in our primary bedroom. It feels sturdy even with a heavy AC unit on it.

> 3 dayUPDATE: Third year of use. Still absolutely love this product. It is super easy, super adjustable. Im about to buy another cause new A/C came with an included shelf/bracket like this custom made for the unit. It is junk and Im throwing it out. I slid this one back in place and all is good. Remember to buy yours in the fall when the prices are low. It is spring and the price is jacked up over $100. I take it down and store it each year. Another tip, mark the hole you used when you bring it in for the year cause you will likely store it compressed and hate to have to go through hanging out the window and readjusting to find the right hole. One more, some of these reviews complaining the adjustment pins dont line up with both sides. Ignore this. They are designed that way to allows more precision and less slippage. It will cost you a little on install and storage time but makes it fit oh so perfectly in most any window. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Engineer here. I really like the design of this product. I never thought this could be this easy. No tools needed, adjust to fit window with size adjustment holes and place it in the window. Placed A/C in place, super sturdy. Never had my A/C this well supported ever. Added one piece of insulation, far less then I usually add each year with adhoc supports. For all the different windows out there, this thing is really well designed to fit most. I dont expect it to be perfect as the task here is tough. BUY.

> 3 dayI struggled for hours, trying to figure out exactly how to position the bracket. I then emailed the company and received a prompt reply, along with photos which depicted the tabs positioning better than the product insert or the online video. The companys owner asked if my windows are wood (they are) and noted that the bracket works better with vinyl or aluminum windows. I was able to establish a satisfactory, though not perfect, installation, which required slightly bending the brackets base against the inside window trim, which permits the air conditioner to tilt slightly to the outside for drainage. As with most window air conditioners, some filling in with foam is also necessary, but this is not a difficult task.
