> 3 dayThis mount is a very heavy/sturdy piece of hardware. It adjusted and mounted easily. It definitely made installing my 10,000 BTU air conditioner much simpler. My only complaint is sealing up the gap around the bottom on the ac unit and finding a way to hold the side flaps against the window frame. Overall I am satisfied with the mount and I am considering purchasing another one,

> 3 dayI struggled for hours, trying to figure out exactly how to position the bracket. I then emailed the company and received a prompt reply, along with photos which depicted the tabs positioning better than the product insert or the online video. The companys owner asked if my windows are wood (they are) and noted that the bracket works better with vinyl or aluminum windows. I was able to establish a satisfactory, though not perfect, installation, which required slightly bending the brackets base against the inside window trim, which permits the air conditioner to tilt slightly to the outside for drainage. As with most window air conditioners, some filling in with foam is also necessary, but this is not a difficult task.

> 3 dayThe bracket is sturdy metal. It goes together and installs easily and should work well. The problem with mine is the front support wing lock pin was broken upon arrival and sitting in the bottom of the box. Some of the paint is also chipped, which will cause faster rusting in Seattle weather. I can fix this, but should not have to for this price. I am waiting for a reply from their customer service and hope they will just send a replacement wing rather than having to hassle returning the whole thing. If they send a replacement, Ill be able to increase the sturdiness to 4 stars The leg lock pins do not go into both holes at the same time as some others noted. I thought they were broken, but the instructions note only one pin locks at a time. *Update 7/8/21: The Top Shelf Team was quick and responsive. They replied quickly and sent a new wing to replace the broken one. Kudos and thank you to them. Upgraded rating to 4 stars.

> 3 dayThe buttons were at an angle and didnt line up with the holes on the bracket. Tried our best to finagle them, but to no avail. Happened with both sets that we purchased. Returning.

Greater than one weekThe bracket is easy to put together and put into the window. I have two ac units - a heavier Frigidaire and a smaller Haier. After reading the reviews here I opted to use this with the smaller Haier. It slid onto the bracket with ease, and there was still space left on the sides and front of bracket so the unit is totally supported. The bracket is well packaged and the instructions are clear. This was a must for me as I did not want to drill holes and I live on a high floor where cars are parked underneath the window. It costs more but is worth saving the headache of using tools, when installing an ac unit is a hassle in and of itself. I would definitely recommend this to anyone living in an apartment who needs the added security of a bracket, and doesnt have the time or know how for putting together additional tools for their ac unit.

Greater than one weekEvery AC unit that says its an easy install for windows lies (at least based on how my windows are set up) and although the price is steep, it makes installation a breeze for all unit sizes (works so well I bought 2). If you have difficulty getting your unit in the window every summer this is worth relieving the stress of that process. in terms of durability time will tell. given the perceived strength of the components im surprised it doesnt have a longer warranty which is a little frustrating but otherwise im satisfied.

> 3 dayThis is probably the most attractive window A/C mount, but the position of the bottom rail forced the unit to sit under the window instead of in front of it. This meant that the A/C units top rail didnt have anything to grab onto without additional parts. To keep the A/C unit stable, I had to cut down a piece of wood to wedge into the window track so there would be something for the A/Cs top rail to grab. After painting the wood to match the window, it all looks perfectly fine... but I wasnt expecting the extra work. Ideally, a universal mount would provide all of the hardware necessary to make install relatively makeshift-free in a large number of windows. I slightly prefer the Jeacent mount thats sold for roughly the same cost, although that mount also required me to use a wood shim to get the A/Cs extension panels to sit flush around the window frame.

Greater than one weekThis unit is identical to a Black and Decker unit being offered on Amazon right now. The Black and Decker offer provides a very helpful instructional video. Watch the B&D instructional video to know how this thing works. I found the B&D video AFTER installing the shelf (and I bought it two years ago). I realized it is not for my type of window (double pane), but it still works for my situation, with some adjustments and customizations.

> 3 dayAfter we had replacement windows installed it was always a juggling act to put in the air conditioners in the Summer. Trying to balance the air conditioner and a 2X4 while lowering the window, trying to make sure the air conditioner didnt scratch up the window frame etc. This bracket was the solution I was looking for. I was able to make adjustments to the bracket so it fit just right. Now the air conditioner is supported just right.

> 3 dayThis Black & Decker bracket is very well made, and we thought it was exactly what we wanted for easy mount and dismount of our tiny A/C unit, which we only use 2½ mos out of the year. Unfortunately, it sounds more like a universal fit than it really is, regardless of the many adjustments you can make for both the interior and exterior wings/legs (half stops for the exterior = wonderful). Though we finally found a place for the gripper feet on the exterior legs to lay flat against our siding, it left the bracket at an incline instead of a decline, which is of course the opposite of what you want with an air conditioner because of condensate concerns. We tried numerous times (literally a dozen different adjustments!) to get it to work, but it was impossible for it to be snug on the frame inside and at the proper angle outside. Plus, it left huge gaps beneath the A/C unit on both sides. Also, we feel it was made for larger units and that this should be noted. We purchased the very popular and best-selling Frigidaire unit here on Amazon, which is tiny and only 40 lbs. It just barely fit (like by a mere half inch) when centered on the bracket, and kept slipping between the vertical legs/supports—to the extent that we went online to look for rubbery bits to apply to either the A/C or the bracket, and then we thought, What are we doing?! This just wont work for us. Amazon processed our return without a hitch. (And honestly, later drilling three holes in the bottom of our vinyl-clad window was absolutely NO big deal—and it left no gaps.) Bottom line: Its well made, and an attractive color (the dark grey). But know that even if you measure all surfaces and areas, and everything looks as though it will be a perfect fit, its still possible this bracket is not going to work for you. However, Id still recommend it if you have a more standard size A/C unit and a flatter exterior surface like brick or stucko. Siding is tough because of the way the rows cut off, and you just wont know if this will work until you have it in your hands for a trial. Thankfully Amazon is good with returns if youre prompt with your trials.
