I replaced 2 Araknis 700 APs with 2 of these and I couldnt be happier.

Couldnt believe how easy this was to set up and install. Downloaded some software onto a Windows machine and within minutes the other side of my house was blanketed in milky warm wi-fi. I have it tucked in between some studs in the basement and it covers that end of the house and a decent distance outside in the driveway. Perfect for my needs.

Can set schedule to link has 24 hour settings wrong. Get error trying to schedule from 9pm to 6am no wifi wont go past 11:59.

Great AP and pretty good non cloud features. I don’t need most of the cloud features so I’m not using that at the moment. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have band steering without cloud device.

This is a good wireless AP. If you are streaming in your home with multiple devices it is good to have one connected to a router

These units are absolutely amazing and work great as a mesh network, unlike some of the pros leaving reviews here saying these dont link together as a mesh network, you are wrong. This is in fact what they are designed to do. If your not downloading the software controller to program these, then dont bother buying them. Use Omada software or get hardware controller to set these up

At about $60, I wasnt expecting to get a true enterprise quality AP. But, I was expecting more. The signal strength of this is significantly less (at least 10dB lower RSSI) than the Asus RT-68U that I had in the same place. It has no logging (on the Web UI) for keeping track of devices that associate and disassociate. It does have a list of devices and how long they have been associated. But, I dont trust it. I have a couple of devices that have known bad FW in them and they connect and disconnect regularly. There is no way to see this information in the Web UI. I never bother to install the controller that TP-Link has. Maybe it offers more useful information. The Web UI provides no way to input information about known MAC addresses. I have about 50 devices, some of them dont report a hostname that the UI understands (Nest devices are an example). Keeping track of them by MAC address (the Web UI doesnt even tell you the IP address) is not really worthwhile. It is better than the Netgear WAP104, which would completely stop working on 2.4GHz after a day or two. It has features that sound good, but the details for them make them less so for normal household usage. Band steering is a very simplistic implementation and is based on the number of devices, so not likely to be necessary for in home use. Does not have a way to specify kick a device off its RSSI is too low (so it will go try a different AP that might be better). It does have a way to reduce the output power, but that probably wont be necessary to use in a normal house (unless you really wanted to have 10 APs in the same house). It does have VLAN support. If you dont know what that is you dont need it. I didnt try it out, so dont know how well it works or not. I will probably just use a separate AP for use with a different VLAN. I am going to be packaging it up and sending it back. It really doesnt do what it says it does.

Replaced a couple Meraki MR33s with these. Pros: On-prem software controller that runs on linux for the win! Free cloud service (didnt test). Super cheap. Cons: 802.11k, client roaming, sometimes sticky.

Started to have trouble after 6 months of little usage. Router doesnt recognize the access point is plugged into a port.
