If you are having issues with wireless coverage in your home or office, this is the ONLY way should go to extend your network. WiFi extenders just dont cut it like an access point. Very easy to install and set up. I have installed 2 (one in moms house and one in mine). Wireless speeds and coverage improved both times when AT&T and Frontier said what they were providing was the best I could get. Install this on your ceiling. Little bigger than a smoke detector. Then it plugs into your router. Uses the same wireless name and password as you already had set up.

I got sick of mucking Around with half-hearted all-in-one systems. I went with all TP-LINK Omada and life has become a little easier. This wifi device covers the whole house and usable signal to the back of the yard. From upstairs to the basement is strong signal. Ill mesh another unit in to get me strong signal into the neighbors yard. Love it. Invest a little and get a good lan, youll appreciate it.

This looked like it was up to the task of a few dozen smart speakers streaming music. Nope. Up to 80-90% utilization on the 5ghz when Im only playing to 10-15 devices at once. Thoroughput is nowhere near what this access point is rated for. I already tried other brands and really wanted to give tplink a shot so I picked up a second access point assuming the lock to AP setting in the controller was a functional setting. Again, nope. Apparently this feature is not yet supported even though it allows you to set and apply it to the access points. This would have solved my primary issue but there is no ETA on when it will work.

The tech support is horrible. I have an issue, I called waited on hold for 30 minutes. The lady was no help, she sent an email and that was it. I installed two of them, the first worked great. Once I hooked the second one up my speeds dropped by 75%. I upped my speeds to 1GB still nothing. Still capped at 90 up and down.

I have been using it since mid October with a 24/7 connected device and a few other devices. It has worked the entire time. I also use it with the Omada PC controller and the EAP245. So devices can roam between them as needed. I would buy more.

This is our second TP-Link WiFi Access Point. Our home has a large, central masonry structure which blocks all WiFi signals in specific corners... of course, the ones where you want to be able to cozy up with a device in an easy chair. After trying to get by with a variety of fine WiFi Routers alone, then with signal repeaters, we decided some extreme measures had to be taken. Fortunately it turned out that the measures were not extreme at all! We already had run Ethernet cable to network streaming devices, so adding a Ethernet splitter at the right spot, and utilizing the TP-Links Power Over Ethernet adapter to send power through the Ethernet 6E cable, we were able to choose exactly the right locations to put access points. Since this is made for a business environment, the capabilities and security options for this device are far beyond what we need for our home, but it is reassuring to know theres potential there and the control software accessed through the web browser is phenomenal. Setup is easiest ion standalone mode, but later adding paps is simple and the resulting coverage even lets me take a device outside the house at some distance. The ceiling mounted installation is also very simple and really unobtrusive once operational.

Just what I wanted

So the internet signal in parts of your house is sketchy and youve been searching for solutions. Youve looked at expensive, magical solutions that just plug in and promise to fix your problem. The issue with those solutions is that they just dont work as promised. If they worked that well, you would see them in office buildings and other commercial locations. What you truly need is a wireless access point like this one. They are relatively inexpensive, work flawlessly and dont require maintenance or adjustment. The issue for many people is that you need to run an ethernet cable to install them. After fighting with other wireless options for years, I bit the bullet and spent my Saturday running a cable from my router through my attic to the other end of my house. It wasnt fun at all, but the finished product was well worth the time investment and I now dont have to stress about internet signals anywhere in my home. Thanks to POE technology, at least you dont have to provide a separate power source. Any job worth doing is worth doing right. This is the way!!

I bought many repeaters for my home office and still having problems with wifi. So i changed my mind and bought a this AP. now my wifi signal reaches better to the rooms.

love this APs pretty fast and good connections never had issues
