Loving this thing! I got this plus an EdgeRouter X to replace the consumer wifi setup in my home network. Even when hiding this in a closet, it still projects a clear and fast signal throughout a 2 bedroom condo with many other devices around. It has built in diagnostics, RF site surveying, floor-plan signal mapping, and will apparently give you some advanced usage data if you chain it to a Unifi Security Gateway. To set it up, you need to install the Unifi controller on a PC or laptop and adopt / configure the various APs. Its one extra step at the beginning but worth it -- I later added a UAP-AC-Iw backup radio, which chained up without a hitch. Note that for best performance, youll want to turn off the legacy B/G/N 2G radio and use 5G only, or else older devices will default to 2G. I havent played with the advanced settings yet, but so far so good.

Excellent Access Point, I use Ubiquiti access points exclusive now.

You can spend more, but why? These are easy to configure and so affordable. Ive installed them in dozens of locations. Perfect for the small to medium business. Even homeowners should consider these and an EdgeRouter X instead of the consumer junk routers.

Increased my wifi speed from around 38MB to 175MB. Was using an older model of the ubiquity APs.

I was introduced to ubnt through my profession. I have grown to love just about all of their IT equipment. The base model AP is no exception. I have placed one in my home network and I love just about everything about it. Have fun !!

While this is the cheap version of Ubiguitis WiFi APs, it still does very well! I needed to add an AP in my basement since the AP Pro I had above was not getting a good signal through all of the duct work (only 7-12mbps!). Once I got this set up using the included PoE adapter, I was able to adopt it to my network and have it automatically configure itself! Worked great and made adding it to my network extremely easy! What I really liked, and didnt realize it did, was that I really didnt need to run ethernet to set it up. It was able to bridge with my AP Pro wirelessly (which I did for a while when I was waiting on other hardware) and made a solid connection with very little latency and around 80mbps throughput! Of course, getting it hardwired let me run 140-180mbps which was more then I needed. Just a reminder, this isnt a stand-alone AP! Ubiquitys Unifi brand requires you to have a cloudkey or their Unifi Controller software running somewhere to set it up! (I used a Raspberry Pi personally) If you have no plans to embrace the Unifi ecosystem, you may want to look for somewhere else!
