Love my scanner I would have given it 5 stars but I can not get it to stop making screeching noises on certain channels like someone holding the mic down other wise all calls come in clear easy set up took about 15 minutes in all and it was up and running if I can get the excess screeching to stop I will edit this and give it a 5 star rating but for those who are electronic pros you will have no trouble I would recommend this to those wanting too have one in a vehicle or like I do in my living room where there is not much room for a standard scanner it is small and does not take up much room at all. All in All this is a great scanner it even picks up care flight 30 miles away which is a plus for me.

This scanner doesnt leave my house so I dont know what it would work like away from an outlet the battery only stays charged for about 6 hours so I keep it plugged in at all times I had to have a professional program it, it picks up a lot of ham operators those channels if youre not interested in that kind of stuff like I am not all had to be locked out but if you like that then you might like that part about it I did not

Good reception in my town even with stock antenna. Using store bought energizer rechargeable batteries, they last plenty long enough. The only annoying thing about these is the low battery alarm beep that cannot be disabled. The alarm beep volume is determined by the current output volume so if you have it set high, the alarm beep will be somewhat loud too. Its a very frequent beep.

Scanner works great, using it as a back-up to my Bearcat BC355C. Only 2 drawbacks really: 1/ The rechargeable batteries only last a day (perhaps I need new ones) and 2/ Sometimes I miss and hit the wrong key and the radio goes into the Lock-Out mode. A bit annoying, as I have to go find the manual to unlock it. Sometimes even when following the guidelines in the manual I cant get it unlocked. I swear, one day Im going to use a hammer. And finally, dont expect too much from the stock antenna. Like any other similar type it has its limitations. If you want to hear more, connect the radio to a ground plane base antenna, when you are at home, of course. Dont risk walking around outside with a ground plane antenna, people will think yourre nuts. UPDATE - 2018 . The lcd display has started to go. The first digit is no longer there, so 123.45 reads 23.45.

I bought the Uniden BC75XLT after doing a lot of research on scanners. I bought it to use at NASCAR events. I have never used a scanner before purchading this one. It was very easy to use and set up. I felt like a pro in no time. I was listening to weather, police, fire within minutes due to the presets in this scanner. I got a list of frequencies for nascar and was able to easily program and store each frequency to correspond with the car number. I took it to a race a week ago and it worked flawlessly. I recommended it to a lot of people who are looking for scanners.

Had to get an exchange cause it wouldn’t stay charged and it was less than a month.

I really like the scanner and have used it a number of times. I mainly bought it for rail fanning and listening to train conversations. It seems to have an excellent range, but I have trouble understanding a lot of the conversation because the radio appears to pick up the signal but not at full strength. Not sure if it is a function of the radio or the transmission itself. Regadless, I am happy with it. The radio is well built and very sturdy. Antennae attaches snugly and easily. There is a fairly steep learning curve with regard to programming the unit, so I am working on that. This is my first experience with a hand held scanner, so I am part of the problem! I do recommend the radio, especially for the quality you get at that price point. Great value.

Nice little unit, worked as expected. The only comment is the programming of the unit was a pain in the a*&. I ended up using the computer / USB interface to program it. I had to learned the hard way to save my work on my computer before sending it to the scanner, and remember every time I added new channels I had to work off of the old setup / profile or I lost the channels I had already setup. Nice little option for the money. I would have given it five stars if the programming was easier. I never did get one channel programmed off the units keypad itself, and the instructions really didnt help me.
