Greater than one weekGreat umbrella for the price. Feels like it Cuts down at least 20° right away when you go under it. I cannot live without it on these hot days! I love how it is light weight too. It automatically opens and closes. So much easier than the next size up. Which I use to but not every day. Thank you!

> 3 dayThis is my second umbrella; I purchased my first one in 2015 which was much more durable. For the last three weeks I have used this almost daily to hide from peak summer city sun, but it already broke and does not open or close properly. The fabric corners are also already showing signs of wear. The umbrella certainly should have lasted longer than 3 weeks! Additionally, it no longer holds up well in wind as the 2015 model did. A disappointing purchase.

> 3 dayNice coverage area. Has definitely blocked the damaging UV rays from worsening my rosacea and it also covers my arms. I like the sturdy construction, too. However, I find it a bit bulky to keep in my purse and I dont like the logo on it making me a walking billboard. I think it makes an otherwise beautiful umbrella classless.

> 3 dayIts very short while folded up -- about 10 3/4 inches. But rather round at about 3 1/2 inches. Stubby Compact... but it will take up some room for those hoping to put it in their bag or purse. I keep mine in a water bottle sleeve on my LowePro photography belt and use it regularly in Big Cypress preserve in South Florida. If ever there was a test of the sun blocking ability of an umbrella, its in Big Cypress in the summer months. This one performs great and is tough enough to be pushed through thick growth from time to time.

> 3 dayI guess someone liked my first one of these so much that they stole it. So I bought another. It is just what I want. It folds up pretty small and opens easily. I live in a place where skin cancer is a real danger so I use this a lot. I recommend it!

Greater than one weekThis is probably my worst Amazon purchase of all time and here’s why: the handle is not even 18 inches long. This means you need to hold your arm up high to keep it off your head and so you can see in front of you. There’s no resting it on your shoulder or anywhere. You have little to no leverage which makes it very hard on your wrist. Yes, the fabric does block the light but due to its very small size, it needs to be repositioned constantly. It has a very long Velcro strap that flops around in your face. When opening and closing, it’s like firing a gun. Super loud POP- And last but not least, when folded up it is very bulky and in no way lightweight. This product is not good for travel, the elderly, children, or anyone that will be in the sun for any length of time. I do not like this product and find the poor design to be a big waste of money

> 3 dayMy wife as Lupus and cant spend too much time in the sun. So we have many solar protection products. This umbrella is a great product. For travel, you cant beat its compactness, light weight, and functionality. The blue underside is upbeat and the handle is very comfortable. We recently used it in South Carolina on vacation daily, during the heat wave - it was nearly 100 degrees every day! And this umbrella performed very well for sun protection while touring. Only slight downside is that, as others have stated, this umbrella does not do well in the wind. A strong wind (like at the beach) will cause it to invert - easy to fix but annoying. Since the canopy is vented for pressure relief, I think they could easily reinforce this umbrella to make it tolerate a good wind. But it is not bad enough to detract from the functionality as a good touring solar umbrella - just dont expect it to work at the beach or other windy situations. We also have a golf umbrella version of this umbrella that is totally wind proof, but it does not travel well. Overall, this ia a great umbrella and a welcome addition to our solar protection arsenal!

> 3 dayYes, it works, and yes I consider it worth the 4x cost of a normal umbrella. I tried a normal umbrella, but noticed that I was getting a fair amount of heat from the direct rays. This is because the fabric absorbs the heat from the direct rays and then re-emits the heat under the shade of the umbrella (I have a BS in Physics and am a Licensed Engineer, and I have studied and used these thermodynamic principles in my line of work). I began searching for an umbrella with a reflective surface, since it would substantially reduce the problem of re-emitting heat under the umbrella. This umbrella does a very good job of this. It is also constructed well, and handles being inverted, due to tricky winds, with no failures to the structural components. It blocks most of the direct rays from the sun (you can still see a little bit of the sun through the cloth). You will still feel heat from the surroundings since the ground is hot and strongly emitting Infra-red heat, but you will get very good relief from the direct sunlight. While compact, this umbrella is a bit thicker and heavier than a normal compact umbrella. This is due to the reflective coating on the outside surface of the cloth. I have gotten used to this, especially when it blocks the sun so well. There are other reflective umbrellas out there for less cost. I dont know anything about them, and they may work okay, but I can vouch for this ones performance. It is a good alternative to putting on sunscreen and as a bonus it keeps sunscreen from polluting our water (which it does when you swim or bath).

Greater than one weekThis UV-Blocker Umbrella really helps bring down the temperature and blocks exposure to the sun. I used to use a dark denim umbrella for sun protection, but this silver material is superior. I noticed that I was still getting sun damage, even though dark denim does not allow much sunlight through the fabric. This silver material is even better. No sun can penetrate at all. I highly recommend!
