> 3 dayBought this for a trip to Peru. The sun is fierce there at high altitudes and gets so hot. Tour guides are notorious for giving long talks in the sun about points of interest and history, etc. This kept me well shaded and cooler. Fellow travelers kept asking to stand under it with me and as it is big enough for two I let them. I bought the compact size. Small enough to fit in my medium size Ameribag, but thicker in diameter than say a Totes type of umbrella. Still easy to hold in one hand. Use two hands to close after pushing the button to collapse it, one at each end then push together every time. I only took time to pull the “pleats” into place is when I was ready to stow it, only takes a minute and is easy to do. A gust of wind blew it inside out, but a quick push into the wind pushed it right back, no problem. It kept me cool and shaded, my head of thin hair did not sweat nor did I have messed up hair from taking my hat off, nor that ugly line that hats make in my hair because of this umbrella. My boyfriend was against me buying this cause he said it’d be strange looking, but it was great, perfect, and received a lot of positive attention every where I went, and he was under with me in the end more than anyone else!

16-11-2024This umbrella works well blocking out the sun but it already broke and I can’t open, close, or return it. Should have lasted longer for $50.

> 3 dayThe Cooling Sun Blocking Umbrella is working perfect for me. I use the little velcro strap to keep the wind from messing with my umbrella and the other thing that works (to keep wind from inverting the umbrella) is to always have the top of the umbrella facing whichever way the wind is blowing, hope this makes sense.

> 3 dayI like everything about this product. My dermatologist warned me to stay out of the sun since I have had many spots removed. Since I teach in Texas and take the students outside daily, I decided to upgrade from my regular umbrella and get something better. I call it my SUNBRELLA. Positives: blocks out TONS of light, one button to open and close, folds up small, big when opened, keeps you cooler, quality fabric. Negatives: the wind flips it inside out. I recommend this particular sunbrella to anyone who needs protection from the sun or wants to stay cooler from heat.

> 3 dayI love this umbrella! I like the size--small enough to take with me, and light enough so you dont feel weighed down. I took it to Disney World and it kept me from getting fried. Sunscreen is good but this umbrella is great! Keeps me cooler, too! I live in Southern California so I use it almost every day. Ten years ago I had a different umbrella, but it was bulky and heavy. I can put this one in my purse. I highly recommend it for all the reasons I mentioned.

> 3 dayI received first one broken. After trying another brand and finding their canopy still let a lot of light in, I decided to give this one another try. So I ordered this again, plus I was happy to find a medium size one just a smidge bigger, (I dont notice the size difference when I use), but without the compact folding. I hoped the simpler closing mechanism would wear better. So I bought two of these, the small compact and the medium. (they also make a golf umbrella umbrella, which I havent tried). Ive had both for a few months now, I predominantly use the medium, almost daily, and its held up well and is great. I love having it with a history of skin cancer and being in Arizona, I need this to walk dog or just go in and out of the yard doing chores during the day. Occasionally I use the compact, the size is nice if you travel, and I havent had any issues (or used a lot but I do use here and there). Im glad I gave it another try and the initial one that I received defective was hassle free to return and cost me nothing. So you dont have a lot to lose trying this out. Its been really great to have one of these.

> 3 dayThis umbrella is very well made. It was well worth the price. I push a button to open & close it. When it was 95 degrees here, walking on sidewalk was miserable & I decided to try this. I wasnt sure about carrying an umbrella in the sun. But its this silver gray reflective color & high quality, so if anyone looks at me, they actually want one. Prior to this purchase, Id bought a cheaper one & could literally not close the thing. I highly recommend & I purchased this product, wasnt a gift.

> 3 dayHello, My review of this Umbrella is after using it about five times in Florida weather, including very hot (about 3pm) sun/humidity, I mean VERY hot and on a moderate day with mild wind gusts. We walked about 1/4 mile each way testing out this umbrella. Both my daughter and I tested it and together we came up with our review. I hope this is helpful. I had also just purchased a $15.99 umbrella from Walgreens a few weeks prior so I will do some comparison with this one as well. 1. First impression of this umbrella was that for the price, it was small in circumference and felt (when holding) to be flimsy. My Walgreens umbrella felt about the same. I thought I had purchased a more sturdy, well built umbrella but IMO this is definitely not the case. 2. The mechanical aspect of this umbrella was not impressive either, in fact, the rods (for lack of better term) that hold the umbrella material were made of what felt like the typical cheap plastic from China. 3. The handle is quite small as you can see in the picture. Quite difficult to hold on to even in the slightest of wind. 4. VERY difficult to close. In fact, I had to press it against my stomach or a hard surface to get it closed. 5. Okay so about heat deflection....I honestly did not feel any difference underneath my Walgreens umbrella than I did this umbrella. Sure wish I had better news but for us anyway, this umbrella was a big disappointment and seems to be cheaply built or a least not built any better than the cheaper ones. See my pictures for more information Thank you for reading and I hope you have better luck than we did. I dont see a link to post photos but if you would like photos please contact me and I would be glad to send them to you.

Greater than one weekI bought this to use on my lunchtime walks because I burn easily, even with sunscreen, hat, etc. Its a great sun blocker - no doubt about that. But the SLIGHTEST breeze blows this thing inside-out. Its a pain in the rear end to have to constantly swish the thing around so it pops back into shape, all the time exposing my skin to that which this umbrella is supposed to protect against! The fabric is nice; its small enough when you compress it down and it hangs in my office on a coat hook. But it pops inside-out FAR too easily. Im only giving it 3 stars because, in the rare instances where theres no breeze? It works like a charm. Otherwise? they need to fix this defect in the design.
