Bought extra foam pieces to hold different guns with various accessories.

Use in the car for gun storage. Like all Vaultek products it is second to none.

Well built, but too shallow to use the included tray with a firearm at the same time.

UPDATE: it turns out that because the sticker inside the box was UPSIDE DOWN, I misread it. The directions for the on state for the key lock were next to the OFF position (UX mistake #1) and the sticker was positioned so that I would have to be INSIDE the box to read it right-side-up, and therefore it was UPSIDE DOWN for anyone looking into the box from above (UX mistake #2) and therefore hard to read, and easy to misread. Im raising my review to 4 stars. There is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with the product, just the UX. This wasted a lot of my time, which could have been saved if they had at least positioned the sticker so that I could read it, and preferably had also designed it so that the directions for the ON position were NEXT TO the ON position instead of the OFF position. I will probably relent and raise my review to 5 stars, since Amazon wont let me give it 4.5, because there are so many great things about this product, but at the moment Im just slightly annoyed with the bad UX design. ORIGINAL: I was really looking forward to getting this, as it seemed to be the perfect balance of various trade-offs. And the portability and floating feature seemed like an awesome bonus. But it has a fatal flaw—at least the one I received, which may not be indicative of every single unit. It is a minor annoyance that there was no battery included. Okay, fine, they want to keep the cost down. Whatever. After a trip to Costco for 9 volt batteries, I was ready to set up my box. The unit came with the key lock disabled. Some people may prefer to risk losing their keys instead of risking the possibility that a thief may pick the lock, so this is a good feature. After installing the battery, the next thing I did was enable the key lock, since Im less worried about the lock being picked than about me losing the ability to quickly access the contents of my box. Then I set up a code, and tried it out. I wanted to make sure I could unlock it with both the code and with the key. The code worked fine, but the key, not so much. I could not turn the key all the way to unlock it. I felt that if I applied any more torque to the key I would break it off in the lock, which would not do anyone any good. So I tried fiddling with the setting for turning the key lock on and off. I dialed that back part way so it was not fully in the on position, and suddenly I could turn the key all the way so as to unlock it. However, now I could not remove the key. So there is basically no way of making the key work. Its either impossible to unlock the unit with the key, or its impossible to get the key in and out (in which case its still impossible to unlock the unit because you cant put the key in). So the physical lock is junk on mine. This is presumably a manufacturing defect, but I would not trust that this defect doesnt appear on any other units. If the quality control is inconsistent enough to allow such an extreme defect in THIS unit, it is most likely allowing it in others as well. One other small nit: there are only 4 possible numerals for your PIN. But thats really only a small inconvenience in that it limits the possible PINs you can choose. As long as you have an 8-digit PIN this is still quite secure (65 thousand possibilities for an attacker to try, if I did the math correctly), so make sure you use all 8 allowed digits if that degree of security is important to you. So, in summary, if you dont care about the physical key, then for you this is a 5-star product.

This is my first review on a product from Amazon but this one was worth reviewing. The biometric works great. I did buy the handle and the extra pluck foam. The handle did not get delivered the first time but Amazon made good on it 2 days later. Purpose was to leave my pistol by my bedside in a draw. I leave the side locks undone as if I need to access it quick. Biometric works with thumb and index finger. No issues so far. I have grand children so I thought this was the way to go to leave locked in bedroom.Another reason that I like the product is that I can pick up and go quick to the range or to my mountain house. It is already locked and ready to go in a case with a handle.

I guess all the youtube reviews oversold this product. Really shouldnt be called a safe, maybe a locked contianer..This really should be a $160 with all accessories instead of 200+. Plastic sounds and feels like a kids toy. Was expecting pelican or glock polymer like plastic ...weary of dropping it. So far works like advertised.

I returned it ASAP. All hype and very small. Just buy a gun case with a combo lock.

This is the second Lifepod I’ve purchased in the last year. Other was the regular Lifepod. I needed bigger for The Governor and it fits perfectly. I like that they are light weight, water proof, have a security cable, come in different colors, easy to program code and change code, easy lock unlock, lighted digital number display, interior light, non slip texture, two emergency keys, the USB cable ability to power in case the battery is dead and the price is worth what you get. The only thing I didn’t know before I purchased the first is that you can only program numbers 1 thru 4 and no number twice. Not a big deal, you might want to get into fast. I just wanted to put a family emergency code in it that we all have used and not forgotten.

    Greater than one week

If you are always carrying, you need something and this is the most convenient. It is lightweight and well made. I initially purchased the smaller version and thats way too small if you need to place a gun, wallet, and shield in the case. I wish the price was a bit lower, but being there are no alternatives that I have found, this is worth it. I do have the $24 steel comparable products.. and they are nice to have in the office or car, but definitely not something you want to be transporting around with you from place to place because they are just to heavy and bulky.
