It does what it is advertised to do. Simply locks up your gun. But for the price you can get better all metal options. This is advertised as being weather proof, so it has side clasps to securely close. The clasps get in the way a vast majority of the time. If you are just using the safe in the house or car where you want somewhat quick and quiet access now you have these flapping clasps in the way. I dont reccomend the lifepod to my friends looking for a small safe.

Theres no room for anything above my gun and mag and if you do put something up in the organizer it pushes against everything

I guess all the youtube reviews oversold this product. Really shouldnt be called a safe, maybe a locked contianer..This really should be a $160 with all accessories instead of 200+. Plastic sounds and feels like a kids toy. Was expecting pelican or glock polymer like plastic ...weary of dropping it. So far works like advertised.

This design is awesome. this is definitely one of those items that will keep honest and some dishonest people honest. I dont know how durable the security cable is but it will take bolt cutters for a real dishonest person to steal this. My advice to others is make a code longer then 4 digits. I have a couple reasons for this. 1. If someone (a dishonest person they does research) attempts to open the case, they will enter the default code of 1,2,3,4. Unfortunately, and I have no ideas on how to fix this, the device will beep or blink and let them know that was the wrong code. It also lets them know your code is 4 digits long. My code is 7 digits and it lets me know on the 7th digit if the code is wrong. 2. As you can see there are 4 digits to work with to create a code. If you have a 4 digit code the number of possibilities is 4x4x4x4 or 256. Lets say your password is 4,3,4,3 and they start attempting to crack it with 1,1,1,1; then 1,1,1,2 and so on. Even with a 4 minute time out after 6 failures, they can crack your code in less then 3 hours if they are very focused. A 5 digit code 4,3,4,3,4 changes that to 12+ hours. (now its 4x4x4x4x4 or 1024 possibilities. a 6 digit code (4096 possibilities) makes it 45+ hours. 7 digits...(16384) 182+ hours. 8 digits (65536) 728 hours. Keep in mind if they get your code half way through they attempts then the hours are cut is half. Now on to my complaint. My only issue is not with the Lifepod 2.0. but with advertising. On the Vaultek Lifepod 2.0 site there is images of a Lifepod 2.0 on a beach with a surfboard. The first image shows the Lifepod 2.0 being taken out of a backpack. The second image shows the Lifepod 2.0 open on the beach with the tray removed. The tray is fine with all the tools tied to it. My issue is with what was under the tray. This image implies you can have a compact gun and a gopro under the tray. I have a gopro hero 9 and one of the smallest micro 9mm hand guns. neither will fit in the lifepod under the tray. My gun will fit in the tray and I can close the lid but it is tight. I have the Colion Noir version which includes a leather card holder. But I figure if it fill it with cards the lid will not close with the gun in the tray. The gopro will NOT fit in the Lifepod with the tray. My only solution for that is to cut a hole in the tray and put the go pro in the bottom where the hole in the tray will be. When I am finished with my design I will include a picture. Again... the Lifepod 2.0 is well designed and seems perfect for my plans. If you purchase one please use a 6, 7, or 8 digit code. Thanks

The set up for this travel case was easy thanks to the instructions provided, however, this thing had failed me numerous times. I originally purchased this gun for work and use this travel case to secure my off-duty weapon when I have to switch out to my service weapon. I went to my assigned beat and the lifepod would not wake up for me to unlock and switch weapons. The worse thing about this is that it is used to market itself as a nightstand case to secure weapons. If I were you, keep your weapon unlocked or else youll be fumbling around trying to get this thing to work when seconds count.
