Vornado 460 Small Whole Room Air Circulator Fan with 3 Speeds, 460-Small, Black

My fiancé had this same fan, but smaller and it finally took a dive. Be had had it for many years. When it took a dive he was bummed and wanted another one. I found this same one, but bigger here and he was soooo happy. This fan definitely works as it should and helps circulate the air around the room way better than a normal fan.

Pros are that it is a great air circulator and its just the right size to be felt but not be in the way. Cons are that the head is attached to a price of metal that wont let it be aimed too low nor go side to side. If youre just leaving on table or floor u can move the whole thing but I wanted to attach to the wall.

If you are looking for a fan that moves a lot of air & provides consistent white noise, youve found it. There is NO rattling. I tried a different Vornado fan that fit my decor but it rattled. They sent me a new one. It rattled. I gave up & purchased this less expensive model that doesnt fit my decor & I am very happy with it. I would recommend this fan to anyone...

I bought my first Vornado in 2019 and a small one in 2021. Dont be fooled by the small size, this really moves the air.

I ended up buying 4 of these to keep one of the upstairs rooms in my house as cool as possible. I have heavy computing projects going on in one room and it heats up into the upper 80s, lower 90s super fast. I was so impressed by the volume of air pushed, while at the same time being so quiet, I ended up buying one for sleeping and another for another room in the house. All four worked out of the box IMMEDIATELY and were auto-linked to Alexa for voice control upon powering them up (since I checked the box to associate them with my Amazon account when purchasing.) THESE FANS ABSOULTELY ROCK - Compared to 20 metal-frame convention floor fans, these are easily 1/4 of the volume, while pushing just as much air, in a more directed fashion thats great for circulation. The company says they want everything to work 110% out of the box, and they nailed it.

I have bought three of the Vornado 460 models. The first two were great, but I am not a fan of the latest one. In this iteration of the model the fan speed control mechanism changed. With the new one, when I change the speed it changes the elevation unless I use two hands to steady the fan. Also, the fan will not stay in a horizontal elevation - instead it will slowly move to a more elevated position which is not pointed in the direction I want the air to flow towards. It is still a good quiet fan, just not as good as the previous 460s.

I have two of these one in bedroom, one in living area and they keep my home cool . I have the small size (460) and love this fan.

Ive got one of those rooms thats just horribly hot in summer, and frigidly cold in winter, so when I read about something that could help normalize that, I was quite excited! I put in an order almost immediately to see if it really could help me feel a breeze throughout the entire room, and cool it down a few notches when Im running some of my more power-hungry electronics. So, did it live up to the hype? It took me a while to get it set up. I mean, sure, most fans are easy- you just plug them in and turn them on. The Vornado 660, however, has specific instructions that, depending on season, tell you specifically how to arrange it for maximum efficiency. My room is a bit... complex, however, and finding a sufficient flat surface required a bit of creative thinking. Once you find a spot that SHOULD work, wait a couple minutes- it takes time for the air flow to normalize. After finding a spot that worked for me, I started playing with the settings to see what worked best. The first setting really is damn near silent at times- if my window is open, my TV is on, or theres any other sound in the room, I cant hear it. That being said, this setting is also fairly weak with my setup. It still helps keep the room cool, but obviously its not as strong as some of the higher settings. The second setting is also pretty quiet- when the computer or a gaming system are running, I usually cant hear then fan over them. Its a better setting for active cooling, but I dont foresee myself using that setting very much. Settings 3 and 4 are where it gets interesting. Setting 3 sounds like a standard fan- youll hear it as long as youre not blasting music or a movie or something of the sort. However, its in this setting when I started really feeling it! You could see the breeze throughout the room, and there was a noticeable temperature drop. This setting is perfect for when its just getting too warm. Keep in mind, none of these settings actually MAKE the room cooler- this isnt Air Conditioning- but with the air moving it will FEEL a lot nicer. I havent had much chance to use the Turbo setting yet, but when I do, it shows. Anything in the room that can be moved by a strong breeze will start to move, and youll feel it in a much more obvious manner as well. I look forward to giving it more of a chance in the warmer months. For those who have eyes that dry out easily, this might not be a great fan for you. Having the air move around dries my eyes out pretty fast when on settings 3/4, but 1/2 are usually fine. If you just use the higher settings for sleep, it wont be an issue. The only other issue is that yeah, sometimes its going to take some time to figure out what spot works best for this fan. All I can say is, have patience. Take your time, try it in different locations and pointed in different directions. This is a great fan, and it definitely deserves an opportunity to show you.

Moves a little bit of air or a lot of air quietly for being a small fan. Keep up the great work Vornado! You have fabulous products at affordable prices.

The front of the inner packaging of this fan states something to the effect: ‘we think this Vornado is perfect; if you don’t, please let us know.’ What other company says that? This item is made in Kansas; the address and 800 number are prominently displayed! The most compelling reason I bought this is because I purchased one years ago; I’ve used it often and it works today as it did the first day I had it.
