> 24 hourVornados sleek new 660 model is their smallest whole room unit Ive used. Its comparable to their Vornado 733 (which Ive used for years). Besides the smaller size and sleek design, it adds infinite angle adjustment, push-button power/speed settings, and a much shorter cord. Its slightly quieter. See my pics for a side-by-side comparison (the new 660 is the smaller unit with silver trim). This model (660), compared to the 733: * 4 speeds vs 3 speeds * Push-buttons (on the top of the back) instead of a dial (in the middle of the back) * Infinite adjustable (slides along a metal support bracket allowing pick-an-angle) * Slightly smaller across the head of the fan, and much less deep (the back of the stand is eliminated), so its much more compact. * Slightly quieter * Lower power consumption at low, similar at medium * Shinier * Power cord is 2-3 feet shorter. Negatives: * The power cord is too short for all the places Ive used Vornados before, I had to use a power strip as an extension cord. * There is an audible beep from each button press, I dont like devices that make noise for no reason. * Power-on goes to the highest fan setting (rather than last setting). Ideal would be if the speed buttons also acted as power-on buttons. * The lower settings dont move all that much air. Unfortunately Vornado, like other fan manufacturers, doesnt generally provide CFM (air flow) and dBa (noise) ratings on its fans, even though these are likely the two most important metrics to fan-buying consumers. I dont have a way to measure those, but I did compare power usage. Note this is versus a 733 that has been running non-stop for 4+ years (so its motor may be less efficient or dirtier than ideal): 660 (1) vs 733 at low: 30W vs 42W Setting 1 is notably quieter (and less air flow) than low on the Vornado 733. If you use this setting, and the fan runs non-stop all year, youd save 105kwh with the newer fan, about $11 at my average energy pricing (approx). But this setting moves too little air for my purposes. 660 (2) at med-low: 37W Setting 2 has some audible noise and moderate airflow. If you used this setting instead of medium on the Vornado 733, and the fan runs non-stop all year, youd save 70kwh with the newer fan, about $7 at my average energy pricing. This setting moves enough air to be useful (but not enough to circulate my open foyer/staircase). 660 (3) vs 733 at medium: 46W vs 45W Setting 3 has noteworthy audible noise and moderate-high airflow, very similar to the medium on the older fan. At this setting they essentially have the same power draw. I didnt test high since its too loud for me to ever use. Neither fan showed any vampire draw: the power meter indicated 0 meaning less than 1W of draw while powered off. If you need substantial air flow (as in between two rooms or in an open foyer, at medium) and are not space constrained, the

> 24 hourI have a 300sqft studio and it gets stagnant. So I needed room circulation for general, coolness at night, and appropriate noise levels for both. Levels 1&2 are good for air circulation with VERY low noise level so I can keep it going and not have to yell to talk to someone. At 3 it does kinda start making sound but still pretty good. 4 or high blows well and produces enough background noise to drown out a lot most sounds at night as I sleep. Very happy with this purchase!

> 24 hour2 weeks after I got this fan, My Alexa randomly stopped recognizing the device and I couldnt get any of the voice commands to work. It started working again though when I replaced my router off from the basic one version gave me to a better one. if you have slow internet, I wouldnt recommend getting the device with voice commands.

> 24 hourIts getting hot in here, so hot, so take off all your....wait you want me to what? Well, rather than taking off your clothes like Nelly suggested, we recommend picking up a Vornado air circulator to cool down your room rather than taking off all your clothes to beat the heat. Now a couple of things to know before you make the big jump to purchase this item. Is it expensive? YES! Will it cool your room down without needing to buy an expensive AC? Sort of. The fan does do a nice job of circulating the air around the room. Placing the fan with the head projected at the ceiling or wall will make the air bounce around in multiple directions to make the feeling of the air being circulated around no matter where you stand at. HOWEVER, the large to medium size models does a nice job of cooling down a small-medium size room, but it does not have the same impact on VAULTED CEILINGS. We suggest buying a larger model than the large size circulator if you have vaulted ceilings. You will still feel the air being circulated, but not as strongly as you would compared to it being placed in a non-vaulted ceiling area. It does not do a good job of cooling a room with hot air inside. We found that a combination of turning on the AC and turning on the fan allows the cold air to be circulated around nicely, however when the AC was turned off, the circulator would then just blow hot air around. We have a

> 24 hourIf you need to circulate air in a room? Well this will do it. It’s not huge, but Vornados is never that big. Great fan and if you catch it on sale it’s even better.

> 24 hourLet me start by saying, if i was rating the function of the fan itself it’s a 5 star fan. The glaring problem is the stand. It does not stay locked in at the angle you put it. The vibration of the fan slowly makes it slide on the metal adjustment guide tilting it up in the air. If it had a simple lock it would be about perfect.

> 24 hourVery powerful fan. The air is very cool so its the next best thing to having an air conditioner. It seems a little pricey compared to other fans but you will definitely get what you pay for.
