In my room ( the man cave) I have a custom build PC, PS3, XBOX 360, and a 40 Samsung TV. Now as you can imagine, all these things turning on together and staying on tend to build up quite a bit of heat, enough to make me sweat. I dealt with this for a while cause my brother wouldnt be playing the consoles a lot back then, but now he plays for literally the same amount of time Im on the PC...4 hours or so. One day I said enough is enough! I didnt like sweating in my own room after a long day, so I decided to buy a fan. I went through a few pages before getting to the Vornado. What actually drew me here was the price, it was much higher then all the other fans I had looked at. So the question came to mind....is it really that good? Unfortunately, fan reviews are not easy to come by, which is understandable. So I just did some research on what made a Vornado so special from other fans. This fan actually circulates the air in your room and it feels like a light breeze all over your room. It brought down the temperature in my room by about 3 degrees, but on top of that its a constant breeze that cools you off, so it feels even better then what the thermal reads. Because of the way this circulates air, I actually had to not use my ceiling fan so it would not disrupt the circulation process. This fan blows out a TON more air then any fan I have ever had before. forewarning though, please be advised that it circulates air, that means it will not do its job if its pointed directly at you, it has to be pointing to some top corner of the room to move the air round properly. As far as the settings go, 1=Literally no sound at all, 2=Still pretty quite, 3=Now you might want to put a few notches up on your TV, 4= sounds like a normal fan now, its not super loud, but enough to notice a fan is on somewhere. As a suggestion I would get this fan above all the other Vornado whole room fans. Because what this fan can do on setting 2 and 3 is the high setting for the lower priced models and I like having the choice to go up or down to what I need. Now there is another model called 733, know that the 660 ( this one) is a lot better at energy conserving and can blow more amount of air at a quieter level. UPDATE 11/1/2017: I want to just let you all know Im still rocking this fan almost 4 years later and I still love it. Makes my room cool, if you have any questions, ask away!!! I got years of experience with this fan, and I set up my amazon to let me know when there is a question so I can be more prompt with the replies! ( sorry for the old comments out there!) UPDATE 07/30/2019: Still rocking it after 5 years and it performs just like it did day one!

This little fan has changed my life. My husband and I recently moved into a new place, and while it is perfect in almost every way, it’s lacking a ceiling fan in the bedroom. As someone who needs air circulation/movement to sleep, and not having a plug-in fan to use, I immediately started researching fans thinking we most likely would have to get some large, obnoxious, and unsightly fan in the name of being able to sleep comfortably. What I didn’t know is how far fan technology has come since I was a kid! Gone are the days of box fans or large oscillating fans (and even tower fans which are apparently a pain to clean). Now you can get a small, aesthetically pleasing fan with incredible power that will sit atop your dresser and turn your bedroom into a windstorm (if that’s your preference). Since receiving this amazing little fan we’ve had the best sleep we’ve had in years! We have yet to use anything but the lowest setting, and I’m not sure we’ll need the medium or high settings (except maybe to help paint dry or something), but it’s nice to know it can go higher if need be. You can almost feel the air bouncing off the walls (like the advertisement video), and the white noise has also been a nice bonus (although I wouldn’t say it’s loud by any means). We have the small size which is perfect for our bedroom space, and I imagine it could work for larger spaces on a higher setting, but a medium or large size may be needed. I never thought I would spend this much time reviewing a fan, but I love it that much! Highly recommend!!!

I was looking for a powerful fan, and the Vornado 660 delivered; however, I will say that some of the reviews make it sound more powerful than it actually is. I would have given it five stars, but I am not completely sure I buy the whole air circulator aspect of the fan, in that it doesnt seem to act as any more of an air circulator than any other powerful fan. That being said, I bought it to use in a room that I spend a lot of time in that is particularly difficult to keep cool because it is upstairs and has floor to ceiling windows on the side of the room where my desk is situated. Ive been experimenting with using this fan to move the air conditioned air around the room in a manner that counteracts the heat coming through the windows. Its been in the high 80s and low 90s in Vegas for the past couple of weeks, and I have to say that the 660 makes a big difference in bringing down the temperature of the room (I believe the AC cycles on less frequently becuase the 660 probably lowers the temperature by a degree or two). The real test will be a month from now, when were at 115 on a daily basis. As for the build quality, its excellent, especially when I compare it to other fans Ive had (although at $100, its exactly the quality I expect), but for the price, a remote would have been nice. In terms of noise, its no more or less noisy than I would expect from a fan this powerful and, while Im not using it in the bedroom, it wouldnt keep me awake, as it produces exactly the sort of white noise that puts me to sleep. Because its in my office, I was afraid the noise might get picked up on zoom and phone calls, but Ive asked people, and they dont hear it. I like it enough to purchase another one for another problem area in the house.

I would highly recommend the Vornado fan. I have had one for several years and I needed another one for my living room. The model 660 is so quiet and circulates air so well. Please don’t hesitate, you’ll be satisfied.

My fiancé had this same fan, but smaller and it finally took a dive. Be had had it for many years. When it took a dive he was bummed and wanted another one. I found this same one, but bigger here and he was soooo happy. This fan definitely works as it should and helps circulate the air around the room way better than a normal fan.

I seriously overheat when I sleep, particularly in warmer months of the year (I live in Ohio, so we do get cold temps part of the year). I was looking for a fan, originally. Something I could point at myself to get cooler air directly on me. Instead I ended up learning the difference between a fan and an air circulator, and Im a believer now! This thing is amazing. Pointing it directly on me definitely provides a breeze, though not as strong as one youll get from a fan. But thats not the purpose of the air circulator. This baby creates a breeze in my bedroom, so that I get the feeling of standing outside on a spring day! And in the process, it standardizes the temp so that the floor isnt cold while the upper part of the room is hot. Now, my bedroom is small (~150 sqft), and this particular model has far more power than is needed for that space, but I compared it to several other models and it was easily my favorite. The level 2 setting is perfect for summer, and has a very low noise level; running on top level (4), its enough that it would likely be a problem to a light sleeper, but its about the same as the fan I was using before. (I think its ~60db). Its also worth a mention that on the top level, this model is supposed to move air up to 500sqft, maybe more. I believe this number is accurate! Even running it upstairs, I can feel (subtly) the air circulation downstairs in my 700-sqft home. (Its most pronounced at the base of the stairs.) When I run it downstairs, it easily gets the entire ground floor, despite there being numerous obstacles in the way. Seriously, its amazing. It changed my life. Im a Vornado believer now. Buy it and try it -- you wont look back.

I have purchased 4 of these. The are far reaching and blow really strong. I little pricey so I dont appreciate paying over $100 with tax for each of them, but they work well and I have purchased others that are much less expensive but dont pack the same punch, so I keep buying these for myself and my kids and the spare room

Moves a little bit of air or a lot of air quietly for being a small fan. Keep up the great work Vornado! You have fabulous products at affordable prices.
