Vornado 460 Small Whole Room Air Circulator Fan with 3 Speeds, 460-Small, Black

I have been converted to a Vornado fan for life because of this product. I couldnt quite grasp how a seemingly simple fan could demand such a price point, but it soon proved its value when we received it. First thing after taking it out of the box I set it on the ground, plugged it in and promptly pointed it at my wife across the room and turned it on. Without fail she said she could clearly feel the breeze from the fan from quite a ways away, and also remarked on how quiet it was. My childish testing of the fan wouldnt be complete without finding out of my cat also could feel the breeze, so I pointed the fan up to the bed where my cat was sitting and watching me. She began to squint her eyes a bit from the fan soon after pointing it her way, giving me the answer I needed that yes kitty did indeed feel the breeze. But this is where the Vornado went above and beyond being just a fan, the air stream coming off of it managed to work its way under the throw blanket on the bed and began to inflate it like a parachute. Kitty was nothing less than terrified that the blanket was now inflating towards her suddenly so she promptly jumped up into the air away from the edge of the bed. But this simple move was no match for the power of the Vornado as it continued to fill up the blanket towards her as she landed. Her last and final effort was a quick and blind jump off the side of the bed and sprinting out of the room. This whole series of events within the first minutes of owning it made me a believer in the product. On a more serious note the Vornado has drastically helped my wife and I for keeping the bedroom cooler. The house doesnt have the best circulation and I have on several occasions seen a 5 degree difference between ceiling and floor temperatures. In order to try and keep the bedroom cool enough that we can sleep under the same blanket, wed have to take the house down to 69 degrees at night, where we normally run 72 the rest of the day. Since owning this fan we have never had to lower the temperature in the house, and this is with it only on the second lowest setting! We can feel a huge different in the comfort of the room temperature wise, and when I use my infrared thermometer to check the temps of ceiling and floor now that we have the Vornado, theyre always the same temperature now. I can point it at a completely different part of the room and still feel the flow of air it creates on the other side. If I ever need another fan without question it WILL be a Vornado.

After just a month of light use, the fan already clicks and rattles.

Nice looking fan and it really puts out the air. We did not like the noise level of the fan. Even on the low speed the airflow was very good but it made to much of an airflow noise for the room we were using it for.

Perfect table top. Will be getting the medium and large for bigger areas in my flat. I run hot constantly so they will be on 24/7

I love this fan for sleeping! It is so quiet, yet moves a lot of air.

You can see my old review of this item below, but a little over a year after purchasing this item I have to update my score from 2/5 to 4/5. I rent and my landlord doesnt care about energy efficiency or insulation so: (a) I have a crummy window AC thats installed incorrectly in my wall (and it doesnt drain properly (AND its not rated for this size room anyway!)); (b) my windows are not insulated and so a large, old hurricane window (110 x 50) gets 12 hours of direct sunlight each day; and finally (c) my lease forbids me from doing anything about either of these problems. I live in Miami, so (needless to say) my apartment gets uncomfortably warm during the summer. But yesterday I came out into my living room, where this circulator hangs out, and it was just unbearable. I couldnt figure out why immediately, but then I noticed that this circulator was off (there was probably a power outage -- this device has a surge protector in it and needs to be reactivated after any flicker). I turned this back on amd within an hour my apartment was back to what I expected -- too warm for true comfort but cool enough to put the ambient temperature out of my mind. So whatever my initial complaints, it is clear to me now that this circulator does, indeed, help cool my apartment. I stand corrected, and happily so. The air tunnel this fan creates travels less than 10 feet before the airflow feels equal to ambient. However, the volume of air it moves is LOW relative to the PRICE POINT. You can get as much circulation for less than half the price. I cannot in good conscience recommend this unit -- perhaps mine is defective, based on how glowingly it has been reviewed by so many others.

I have two of these one in bedroom, one in living area and they keep my home cool . I have the small size (460) and love this fan.

As a child, I loved the summer. As an older adult, I dread it, especially living in the Northeastern coastal U.S. As June approaches every year, I tell myself this will be a bearable summer and by late July, I feel like I am living out a prison sentence of punishment by extreme heat. 2022 has been especially brutal with several long heatwaves where the temperature was in the high 90s every day for weeks on end. It never went below the high 80s at night, so no relief. My rental house is nearly 100 years old with the windows being too rotted to hold an air conditioner or in some cases to even open. Since I moved back to the East coast, i have acquired nearly a dozen fans of all types-box fans, tower fans, tiny portables that clip to the edge of my desk. None have been particularly successful at keeping any room even reasonably comfortable. Earlier this year, in preparation for several months of heat torture, I bought a Vornado 630 for the bedroom. While it did not create a cool oasis for drifitng off to a comfortable sleep, it at least moved hot air around. As weeks went by and the heat waves got longer and my house retained more heat, I decided life was too short to be this uncomforatble and I bought this $100 Vornado 660. I used it last night for the first time on the highest setting along with the 630 on the other side of the room, also on the highest setting. I was able to sleep under a light coverlet. In addition, it was the first time since early June that I slept peacefully and comfortably all night long and woke up feeling refreshed and well rested. Even my youngest cat spent the entire night on the bed with me. Is it noisy? No. Sure, it sounds like a fan but I consider that white noise a plus as I live on a major artery in a very big city. It doesnt roar or rattle or rumble or hum so I do not understand the comments about this being a nuisance or detriment to sleep. Who cares if it has no remote control? Are we now all so lazy and helpless that getting up to push a button has become problematic or a major issue?! It was so wonderful to wake up in dry, not sweat soaked night clothes and to spend a pleasant 30 minutes gradually coming to full wakefulness while enjoying the company of my dear little cat, who also had a cool, restful night. As it is mid-August and the dog days are waning, I dont feel a need to immediately spend another $100 on a second Vornado 660 but I may very well purchase a second unit at the end of the summer as defense against next years brutal weather. Global warming isnt going to go away but this fan can get one through some of the worst of the summer. Worth every cent. Highly recommend!

This van does not take up much room, but is a great cooler for a bedroom.

This fan is quiet and actually pushed air. I’ve had so many junk fans that make a lot of noise and don’t push air. I’m sticking with this company going forward. Awesome fan
