Vornado 460 Small Whole Room Air Circulator Fan with 3 Speeds, 460-Small, Black

If you are looking for a fan that moves a lot of air & provides consistent white noise, youve found it. There is NO rattling. I tried a different Vornado fan that fit my decor but it rattled. They sent me a new one. It rattled. I gave up & purchased this less expensive model that doesnt fit my decor & I am very happy with it. I would recommend this fan to anyone...

Very pleased with this. It is very effective in circulating air around the room, and takes up very little space. It does make some noise, but for me thats a positive--it doubles as a white-noise machine.

You can see my old review of this item below, but a little over a year after purchasing this item I have to update my score from 2/5 to 4/5. I rent and my landlord doesnt care about energy efficiency or insulation so: (a) I have a crummy window AC thats installed incorrectly in my wall (and it doesnt drain properly (AND its not rated for this size room anyway!)); (b) my windows are not insulated and so a large, old hurricane window (110 x 50) gets 12 hours of direct sunlight each day; and finally (c) my lease forbids me from doing anything about either of these problems. I live in Miami, so (needless to say) my apartment gets uncomfortably warm during the summer. But yesterday I came out into my living room, where this circulator hangs out, and it was just unbearable. I couldnt figure out why immediately, but then I noticed that this circulator was off (there was probably a power outage -- this device has a surge protector in it and needs to be reactivated after any flicker). I turned this back on amd within an hour my apartment was back to what I expected -- too warm for true comfort but cool enough to put the ambient temperature out of my mind. So whatever my initial complaints, it is clear to me now that this circulator does, indeed, help cool my apartment. I stand corrected, and happily so. [Old Review] SYNOPSIS Please dont dismiss my review by supposing that I tried to use this differently than intended. This DOES NOT work as intended. The air tunnel this fan creates travels less than 10 feet before the airflow feels equal to ambient. I imagine if there were any short in the device, that it would deactivate. I really like so much about this thing that I feel bitter about how weak it is. However, the volume of air it moves is LOW relative to the PRICE POINT. You can get as much circulation for less than half the price. I cannot in good conscience recommend this unit -- perhaps mine is defective, based on how glowingly it has been reviewed by so many others.

I love this fan! Our entire family sleeps with a fan at night and we all have some type of vornado pedestal fan. I bought this for my toddlers room and placed it on a shelf due to space issues. The wind speeds are Great, noise level is perfect and its very sturdy. The best part is this fan is so sleek looking! If you want something that will last, buy this Vornado!

I bought this Vornado fan to use in a small bathroom and to travel with as I am a fan sleeper. Great air flow, aesthetics are pleasing, and (to me) the price is reasonable. Although it will fit in a suitcase it is slightly larger than I would like. The drawback, and the reason I returned it, is the tilt function. The metal strip along the back does not keep the fan in place. If you tilt it all the way down, it will, fairly quickly, begin to tilt up. If Im in bed, and I want the fan directly on my face (which I do) it wont accomplish that goal, as within minutes the fan is pointing upwards. Im not an engineer but it sure seems like a design flaw to me. Im going to order the 133 which is slightly smaller, does not have the metal strip, and see how that works.

This is better than my older Vornados, and thats saying something. This little guy is heavy, has a great real metal handle and moves air like crazy! Nice smooth sound and doesnt seem like its working too hard either. Im very pleasantly surprised to find that quality has actually improved on something!

This fan packs a lot of power, moves more air than larger size. I need the white noise and breeze to sleep. I am very pleased. I can always count on Vornado.

I am an older woman and I deal with getting too hot still all the time. After a shower its been a real pain to try and get my hair dry while Im breaking out in a sweat. I know Im not alone. This fan will do great for helping me to be able to keep cool while Im trying to dry my hair. I keep it on low while Im first out of the shower, and as I start to dry my hair I turn it up all the way and blast me. And it works!!! This is one very powerful fan!!! Since the measurements do not list the size of the base, which was a concern for me, it is 8 inches round. This thing is definitely a treasure and Im so glad I found it!!!

Very powerful fan. The air is very cool so its the next best thing to having an air conditioner. It seems a little pricey compared to other fans but you will definitely get what you pay for.

Great fan! Not my first. I have another which is over five years old.
