> 3 dayNice looking fan and it really puts out the air. We did not like the noise level of the fan. Even on the low speed the airflow was very good but it made to much of an airflow noise for the room we were using it for.

> 3 dayAs a child, I loved the summer. As an older adult, I dread it, especially living in the Northeastern coastal U.S. As June approaches every year, I tell myself this will be a bearable summer and by late July, I feel like I am living out a prison sentence of punishment by extreme heat. 2022 has been especially brutal with several long heatwaves where the temperature was in the high 90s every day for weeks on end. It never went below the high 80s at night, so no relief. My rental house is nearly 100 years old with the windows being too rotted to hold an air conditioner or in some cases to even open. Since I moved back to the East coast, i have acquired nearly a dozen fans of all types-box fans, tower fans, tiny portables that clip to the edge of my desk. None have been particularly successful at keeping any room even reasonably comfortable. Earlier this year, in preparation for several months of heat torture, I bought a Vornado 630 for the bedroom. While it did not create a cool oasis for drifitng off to a comfortable sleep, it at least moved hot air around. As weeks went by and the heat waves got longer and my house retained more heat, I decided life was too short to be this uncomforatble and I bought this $100 Vornado 660. I used it last night for the first time on the highest setting along with the 630 on the other side of the room, also on the highest setting. I was able to sleep under a light coverlet. In addition, it was the first time since early June that I slept peacefully and comfortably all night long and woke up feeling refreshed and well rested. Even my youngest cat spent the entire night on the bed with me. Is it noisy? No. Sure, it sounds like a fan but I consider that white noise a plus as I live on a major artery in a very big city. It doesnt roar or rattle or rumble or hum so I do not understand the comments about this being a nuisance or detriment to sleep. Who cares if it has no remote control? Are we now all so lazy and helpless that getting up to push a button has become problematic or a major issue?! It was so wonderful to wake up in dry, not sweat soaked night clothes and to spend a pleasant 30 minutes gradually coming to full wakefulness while enjoying the company of my dear little cat, who also had a cool, restful night. As it is mid-August and the dog days are waning, I dont feel a need to immediately spend another $100 on a second Vornado 660 but I may very well purchase a second unit at the end of the summer as defense against next years brutal weather. Global warming isnt going to go away but this fan can get one through some of the worst of the summer. Worth every cent. Highly recommend!

> 3 dayLet me start by saying, if i was rating the function of the fan itself it’s a 5 star fan. The glaring problem is the stand. It does not stay locked in at the angle you put it. The vibration of the fan slowly makes it slide on the metal adjustment guide tilting it up in the air. If it had a simple lock it would be about perfect.

> 3 dayYou can see my old review of this item below, but a little over a year after purchasing this item I have to update my score from 2/5 to 4/5. I rent and my landlord doesnt care about energy efficiency or insulation so: (a) I have a crummy window AC thats installed incorrectly in my wall (and it doesnt drain properly (AND its not rated for this size room anyway!)); (b) my windows are not insulated and so a large, old hurricane window (110 x 50) gets 12 hours of direct sunlight each day; and finally (c) my lease forbids me from doing anything about either of these problems. I live in Miami, so (needless to say) my apartment gets uncomfortably warm during the summer. But yesterday I came out into my living room, where this circulator hangs out, and it was just unbearable. I couldnt figure out why immediately, but then I noticed that this circulator was off (there was probably a power outage -- this device has a surge protector in it and needs to be reactivated after any flicker). I turned this back on amd within an hour my apartment was back to what I expected -- too warm for true comfort but cool enough to put the ambient temperature out of my mind. So whatever my initial complaints, it is clear to me now that this circulator does, indeed, help cool my apartment. I stand corrected, and happily so. [Old Review] SYNOPSIS Please dont dismiss my review by supposing that I tried to use this differently than intended. This DOES NOT work as intended. The air tunnel this fan creates travels less than 10 feet before the airflow feels equal to ambient. My Amazon Basics fan does a better job circulating air than this overpriced floor fan (ahem, air circulator). Difficulty Level - How Hard Was This To Use? [_] Beginner [_] Novice [_] Competent [_] Advanced [_] Expert Build Quality [_] This felt very poorly designed, and I recommend against buying it. With respect to form factor, weight, and aesthetics this is clearly a premium-tier item. I can only give it 4/5 on my own scale because I would not recommend buying this in general. [_] This felt very safe to use, and I recommend buying it If there is a power surge or an outage, the air circulator automatically shuts off. I imagine if there were any short in the device, that it would deactivate. I really like so much about this thing that I feel bitter about how weak it is. [_] This did what it promised, and did it better than alternatives. [_] This did what it promised, with distinction, and I recommend buying it. 2/5. This thing moves air, so it obviously circulates. However, the volume of air it moves is LOW relative to the PRICE POINT. You can get as much circulation for less than half the price. I cannot in good conscience recommend this unit -- perhaps mine is defective, based on how glowingly it has been reviewed by so many others.

22-11-2024Definitely cools a room down. My fiance had doubts because we already have so many fans, but you absolutely feel the difference even on low

> 3 dayI love this fan! Its perfect for my need which is in a smallish condo bathroom with no window. I take a lot of long bubble baths and need air circulation - and with hot showers too obviously . A hot bath is wonderful but without airflow, it gets too hot and suffocating! I could drag my big Lasko cyclone or wind machine floor fan to the bathroom door but thatd be a pain everytime. It is the perfect size too. I had one of those (worthless) tower fans that even on high is not much better than this fan on low or low-medium. For a long bath, Ive found the 3rd highest setting is perfect pointed at me about 7-8 feet away and then after, I point it more upwards and crank it to the next level which is the highest I think - just to get everything in the bathroom good and dry (mirror, towels, whatever). It takes up the same diameter floor space as the tower fan I had but really works MUCH better. The noise on the first or second setting is barely audible but the 3rd and 4th settings are definitely louder but not so loud that I cant hear my music or anything. I know this is a long review for a fan, and quite pricey but if it works to keep me cool during baths and keeps the room from turning into a swampy rainforest after that or showers - its worth it. Trust me, Ive tried many fans (including other small floor fans) for this particular need and finally found it :) In this case, I feel its money well spent. Also small and light enough to easily take to a friend or family members home if need be. My only minimal complaint is that the chrome handle on the back is quite difficult to move the fan position up and down. Also, I wish it oscillated from side to side but considering for the size its the strongest breeze fan in such a small size - and for my needs - Im keeping it!

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic fan and I recommend this purchase. I live in a hot and humid climate with exceptionally expensive electric rates, so I tend to rely on fans more than air conditioning. I have gone through seven fans in the past two years, all name brand. I purchased two off-brand metal bladed fans a year ago and those are great except they are very loud and are dangerous with small curious children in the house. This led me to Vornado. Here are my points to consider: Pros: Reasonably quiet, even at the highest setting. REALLY moves air. My living room is 22 across and it has no trouble directing air that far. Size--this is a very small fan in comparison to the other fans Ive owned (box, pedestal, floor, table), yet it does a better job. Appearance--looks pretty, and isnt an eyesore like other fans Safety--my 1.5-year old has failed in her attempts to shove her fingers through the grill. Im sure she could if she tried harder, but it wouldnt be easy. Efficiency--Ive been without power for two months now (thanks, typhoon) and rely on a power inverter. With this plugged in, it uses 50w at the highest setting. Thats compared to my pedestal fan that uses 75w at the lowest setting. Cons: Price--this is not cheap! I purchased this repackaged from Amazon and it saved me $15 from anywhere else I could find online. Buttons--I think the shiny buttons are meant to attract small children, and it does that very well. Though, I dont know where else the buttons could be and still be convenient for adults to adjust. Unless it was a classic dial adjustment. Speed settings--level 3 and 4 are really the only speeds Ive used and I cant imagine using anything less...the lower two levels just seem a little useless. But maybe if I didnt live in the tropics, the lower settings might be useful for a whisper of air movement here or there. Lastly, I wanted to address a couple of things I read in reviews. First, this fan CAN be used to direct air at you, as you would a normal fan. It does a very good job at that, in fact. Its just not maximizing the fans potential as a whole room air circulator if you choose to aim it at yourself for cooling. Secondly, this fan is not hard at all to adjust. Im not sure what people are attempting to do in terms of angle adjustment, but you simply slide it and its done. And no--it does not slide out of position on its own. Im not kidding, its very simple and effective. I chose the 660 versus other models based on reviews citing efficiency, and also because it looks nicer than similar models. I am happy with this purchase, its better than I expected it to be, and Ill be buying two more for the rest of my house...as my budget allows.

> 3 dayWhat a little beast! This fan is as simple as they come and throws out some good powerful air. I originally wanted a bladeless fan but tried a few that just did not do the trick. I went back to the basics with this little beauty and have no regrets. Do not hesitate buying this fan!
