Vornado 460 Small Whole Room Air Circulator Fan with 3 Speeds, 460-Small, Black

In my room ( the man cave) I have a custom build PC, PS3, XBOX 360, and a 40 Samsung TV. Now as you can imagine, all these things turning on together and staying on tend to build up quite a bit of heat, enough to make me sweat. I dealt with this for a while cause my brother wouldnt be playing the consoles a lot back then, but now he plays for literally the same amount of time Im on the PC...4 hours or so. One day I said enough is enough! I didnt like sweating in my own room after a long day, so I decided to buy a fan. I went through a few pages before getting to the Vornado. What actually drew me here was the price, it was much higher then all the other fans I had looked at. So the question came to mind....is it really that good? Unfortunately, fan reviews are not easy to come by, which is understandable. So I just did some research on what made a Vornado so special from other fans. This fan actually circulates the air in your room and it feels like a light breeze all over your room. It brought down the temperature in my room by about 3 degrees, but on top of that its a constant breeze that cools you off, so it feels even better then what the thermal reads. Because of the way this circulates air, I actually had to not use my ceiling fan so it would not disrupt the circulation process. This fan blows out a TON more air then any fan I have ever had before. forewarning though, please be advised that it circulates air, that means it will not do its job if its pointed directly at you, it has to be pointing to some top corner of the room to move the air round properly. As far as the settings go, 1=Literally no sound at all, 2=Still pretty quite, 3=Now you might want to put a few notches up on your TV, 4= sounds like a normal fan now, its not super loud, but enough to notice a fan is on somewhere. As a suggestion I would get this fan above all the other Vornado whole room fans. Because what this fan can do on setting 2 and 3 is the high setting for the lower priced models and I like having the choice to go up or down to what I need. Now there is another model called 733, know that the 660 ( this one) is a lot better at energy conserving and can blow more amount of air at a quieter level. UPDATE 11/1/2017: I want to just let you all know Im still rocking this fan almost 4 years later and I still love it. Makes my room cool, if you have any questions, ask away!!! UPDATE 07/30/2019: Still rocking it after 5 years and it performs just like it did day one!

This fan is exactly what I needed in every way. First of all its not actually a fan, its a circulator. When this thing is running even on the lowest setting my entire bedroom has a very gentle whirlwind of air moving about. But the most important reason that I purchased it is because I need a little bit of white noise when I sleep. On the quietest setting this thing makes a pretty ample amount of white noise. How noisy? In my bedroom standing 7 ft from the circulator 1 - with the circulator turned off I registered 27 decibels 2 - with the circulator turned on the quietest setting I registered 42 decibels 3 - with the noise circulator turned on maximum, I registered 58 dB If you are unfamiliar with how decibels work, its hard for me to quantify, but I can assure you that it gets much noisier the higher You turn it up. If you are looking for something that makes a really nice but peaceful white noise while laying in bed, this is absolutely it.

I have a 300sqft studio and it gets stagnant. So I needed room circulation for general, coolness at night, and appropriate noise levels for both. Levels 1&2 are good for air circulation with VERY low noise level so I can keep it going and not have to yell to talk to someone. At 3 it does kinda start making sound but still pretty good. 4 or high blows well and produces enough background noise to drown out a lot most sounds at night as I sleep. Very happy with this purchase!

Such is this seemingly simple little black plastic fan. A fan is just a noisy machine with a loud motor and loud blades that push air at you. The air evaporates the sweat (or slight moisture) off of your exposed skin and that in turns cools your body down...much like a light ocean breeze on a balmy tropical night on the beach...a pleasant experience. A fan is just air in your face whether it turns (oscillates) or not. This air circulator creates a vortex and moves the air in the room around so that it is evenly cool in every corner of the room, much like a ceiling fan. If you need a humidifier for the winter, this company also sells one. This is the only fan you will ever need or want and coming from Vornado, the world leader and innovator in fans, it will likely last for 30 years if you clean it regularly...yes you have to clean a fan! If you want to save a ton of money on air-conditioning, clear the smoke and heat out of your kitchen, make your bedroom nice and cool at night, and turn your living room into a tropical beach..you will need a little tropical air spray...then buy one if these fans and do not even consider other reviews that say it is no better or too expensive, or that it did not circulate air 100 feet away as claimed. These reviewers are not very good at writing reviews or are nitpickers who turn off people from buying an item. I almost did not buy the Braun Series 7 790 electric shaver due to many negative reviews but then I considered that there were 1, 200 positive reviews and I ignored the 50 idiots who did not like it or who thought their one one was better. You want a fan...but this air circulator instead and you will thank me. I also suggest you buy a few of the Sun Tea borcillate double wall glasses for drinking iced tea in your new living room..get them here at Amazon in three sizes, they are the best glasses on earth and keep your drinks very cold or very hot for a long time and the ice cubes do not melt and dilute your drinks.

We have an older home that still uses window AC units. The front room, our family room, is South-facing. The windows dont accommodate AC units, and there isnt electric in the ceiling for a ceiling fan. So its the hottest room in the house and has no natural air movement. To get cool air in the room, weve been using a fan to push air from the adjoining dining room; which does have an AC unit. Weve used a Honeywell Turboforce and a Lasko tower fan. Truth be told, they didnt move a lot of air and consequently didnt make much of a difference. The Vornado 660 is a true night and day difference from the other fans! It moves far more air, and the Vornado air circulator design truly works. We have the fan pointed in direction where no one sits, and you can still feel indirect air movement anywhere in the room. So the room IS cooler, and it FEELS cooler due to air movement. This might be the first summer Ill actually be comfortable in our family room. As a bonus, the Vornado is quieter on its 3 of 4 setting than the others were at 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 settings. (This is coming from someone who is very noise sensitive, btw.) I may not even have to use the Vornados highest speed. But it still wouldnt be louder than the others at full blast, and the air movement literally blows the others away. (See what I did there?) Lastly, I was little worried about size because the 660 is the largest model of the series. I ordered it anyway because I was thinking about noise and figured Id rather have a bigger fan working on a lower speed to keep the noise down. As Ive mention, noise isnt an issue. Turns out, the size isnt either. Its really not obtrusive at all; maybe 50% bigger than a basketball. In sum, Im really happy with this fan. Trust me: spend a little more and get something that really works, the Vornado.

Perfect table top. Will be getting the medium and large for bigger areas in my flat. I run hot constantly so they will be on 24/7

Let me start by saying, if i was rating the function of the fan itself it’s a 5 star fan. The glaring problem is the stand. It does not stay locked in at the angle you put it. The vibration of the fan slowly makes it slide on the metal adjustment guide tilting it up in the air. If it had a simple lock it would be about perfect.

Nice looking fan and it really puts out the air. We did not like the noise level of the fan. Even on the low speed the airflow was very good but it made to much of an airflow noise for the room we were using it for.

Ive tried other types of fans but nothing compares to these vornado fans! They work great and last for years! Definitely does the job circulating air through the house. We have a big home with window AC units and these fans do the job to help move the air through and cool down the rest of the house! We use this one in our high ceiling living room and I can feel the wind blowing from it all the way upstairs from the landing that looks down into the room.
