> 24 hourGot this SSD for my 2015 4K iMac due to it being non upgradable internally. I have OSX and Windows 10 as bootable partitions on it. My iMac was sluggish with a lot of big programs running. Now it is plenty fast. Upgraded my 2008 MacBook Pro similarly. Now it’s like a new computer. The SSD is small, silent — no moving parts — and durable. The cable it comes with is very short. Overall excellent product for the price point.

> 24 hourWhen I contacted WD, I gave them my serial number and they couldnt identify my drive. They said they would get back to me but I havent heard from them. Could this be a faux product?

> 24 hourComputer drives are transparent to the user when they work correctly, thus making them more of a commodity. That in mind, this is a great drive. Simple to use as a plain drive. It also provides WD features for encryption and cloud backup ...these services require registration but registration is NOT required in order to use the drive itself (and the drive can be encrypted with other methods than the WD method...so for paranoid types who dont want to register their encrypted drive up to the cloud do not need to do so). The physical size of the drive itself is much much smaller than I was expecting; much smaller than a standard laptop-type hard drive in an enclosure. Its like a box of matches. No complaints though! Makes it highly portable. The combination of low cost, large capacity, speed of USB-C interface makes this a very appealing drive.

> 24 hourI wasnt expecting this thing to be as fast as it was on reads and writes. If your main drive is SSD-based, youre in for a treat. Transfers files pretty much as fast as your USB port will send them out.

> 24 hourI bought three of these to use as convenient backup drives, and theyve served me very well so far. Fast transfer speeds and not a single problem so far -- Ive had them about a year.

> 24 hourJust started using it. It warms way-up. Could be a hand-warmer.

> 24 hourThis drive runs hot and fast. Having a 2 TB capacity is also a major plus. If your system has SSD for main storage you need a fast drive like this for backups and such.

> 24 hourBought this October 2018, the SSD Is great, but the USB cable is really bad, I keep having connection issues. I thought something was wrong with the SSD. I eventually bought a cable and everything works good. WD I expect better than this with your products. Get a better cable manufacturer for your products. A cable is a major part of any Portable drive, errors can occur with poor connections, even leading to damaged and lost files.

> 24 hourI had purchased a device like this (My Passport SSD External Portable Hardrive) over a year ago like this and it has worked beautifully with my MAC. This one and another with less storage did not convert properly and I spent hours trying to have them work. I contacted Amazon and returned both. It was noted on my account, that it was returned and my credit card credited for the full amount. It’s been over a month since the credit should have been on my account. I have not received a credit on my account and there is no easy way to communicate with someone from Amazon. I have been a prime member for MANY YEARS! Go to the contact page for a phone number and “oops, something went wrong” comes up. You must be kidding! After all the $$ Amazon has raked in during the pandemic and all the people unemployed, yet there is no one in customer service to speak with or chat with on line. It should not be this hard. Extremely disappointed in the product and more disappointed in Amazon.

> 24 hourQuality ssd. I was very impressed by the size. I bought a 2TB one, and it is generally the length and width of a credit card or smaller. It is fairly thin, and can fit in a pocket very easily.
