Wii Play with Wii Remote

Greater than one weekI just got my Nintendo Wii Play game with bonus remote in the mail. I was looking for an extra remote and thought I got a great deal when I found this one with a game for such a great price. When I got it today I was a little disappointed right away when I opened it up and the box looked like it was stepped on and kicked across the room... The outer packaging was fine so I assume the box was in that condition before it was sent via USPS. When I opened it up I noticed a big scratch on the front of the Wii remote and it even looks like there is some dirt or something between the remote and the rubber cover. The game is still wrapped and brand new. Despite the not so brand new condition of the remote, I still think I got a pretty decent deal... although it may be a little harder to give as a gift now, as I planned. Good thing it is only going to my 6 and 9 year old.

> 3 dayIll be honest. I already had a second controller. I only really bought this for the shooting game, which is pretty much a 3 minute revision of the original Duck Hunt. After playing all the games, the shooting one is still my favorite. The last level is the best. I also loved the Tank game. If you ever played Combat on the Atari, youll appreciate this one too. The other games are kind of weak. The Pool game is nothing more than a 3D version of Yahoo! Pool. The cow race is hilarious, but I imagine its going to get old quick. Table tennis is nothing special... its like Pong on steroids. Theres a air hockey game called Laser Hockey or something. The Mii Match and Pose are okay for starters, but if youre not new to the system, youll find it very annoying. Fishing was also really dumb... even for beginners. The tank and duck huntesqe games make it worth while with the controller though. If youre buying the system for a parent or someone who hasnt played since the glory days of Nintendo, this is a great game to give with it.

> 3 dayI bought this during holidays season and the reason was to buy the controller. It was not possible to get it otherwise. So this is the whole idea for the bundle. As for the game itself - a collection of nine mini-games and there is nothing to write home about. My son switched back to Wii Sports after fifteen minutes of playing. We have never inserted the disk to the console since then.

> 3 dayI was fortunate to find this item on sale here for the same price as the Wii Remote. So it was a great value for me since I needed another controller. The games are not great however they meant to make you more familiar to handling the Wii Remote. Bottomline - If you need another remote and this package is on sale for the same price as the remote, buy it. Otherwise dont spend the extra $10.00.

> 3 dayI bought this because it was the same price as just purchasing a Wiimote. I figured we were bound to get one good game out of it. I was right! For the most part, these games are quite good. There are 8 games, including: a variation on Duck Hunt (from the original NES system), Pool, Table Tennis (which was somewhat difficult to get used to and not very impressive), a tank/shooting game (not too impressed by this one either), a cow racing game (hilarious!), two different matching/dexterity games, and a fishing game (which we have yet to figure out). All of the games allow you to use the full functionality of the Wiimote (and sometimes the nunchuk). Its totally worth it. Even if you only end up liking one of the games, its the same price as just getting the controller. Go for it!

> 3 dayThe remote is of course the main point of the purchase. Having more than 1 remote for the Wii really brings the gameplay to a whole new level. Highly recommended. As for Wii Play. Most of the games are very basic, and shallow. Two standouts are tanks and lazer hockey. But thats not to say theyre not entertaining. As long as you have 2 people playing competitively, the game is actually very fun. Its a good party game and breaks away from the somewhat monotony of Wii Sports.

> 3 dayWii Play is a fun, interactive way to challenge your friends in a non-violent contest of skill. Great game for all ages. It is not meant for single-player, but mainly for 2-4 players at a time. Some of the best games are Tanks, Charge, Laser-hockey and Duck Hunt (there is no blood and only about 3 ducks, mostly targets, in Duck Hunt). This is a good deal because you get the game and the controller (a $90 value).

24-11-2024So the Wii Play games may be simple, but theyre fun. And considering youre getting a Wii Remote WITH the games, this purchase is a no-brainer. Depending on the price you pay, youre basically getting the game disc for anywhere from free to $10.00. Why buy a new remote by itself when you can get one with the Wii Play games? And if you dont want the games, you can always sell the disc on eBay and will probably end up making money in the process.

> 3 dayWhile I certainly would not have shelled out $50 for wii play without the remote, for the $10 above the cost of a wiimote, this game is a great novelty and really demonstrates the innovative nature of the wii and gets me excited for for the future. This arrived today at work from Amazon - and I played it on my 1 hour lunch break at home - which was ample time to try each game and go round too on the shooting. I do think overall it is fun and stands on its own. The key to the game is to have enough miis made. Finding my sister, wife, and mom in find mii was pretty funny. Watching them dance around the title screen is pretty amusing as well. Here are my quick thoughts on each game: 1. Shooting - Short - but lots of fun. Definitely repeatable. 2. Find Mii - actually pretty clever - you start finding people yielding a flashlight in a dark room after a few rounds. Definitely better if you have created some miis. 3. Ping Pong - not much fun in my opinion - a little overly simplistic 4. Air Hockey - Actually kind of fun - strong nostalgia factor a la atari pong 5. Bubble Burst - I does hurt your wrist a bit, but very different from any game I have ever played - looking forward to 2 player here 6. Billiards - Probably the most challenging - I think it will have a longer lifespan than the others 7. Cow Riding - By far the zaniest, the controls are really unique and engaging 8. Tank - Lots of Atari Nostalgia. Could definitely see myself playing this one more 9. Fishing - pretty lame - If you have Zelda: Twilight princess - you will see what fishing on the Wii should really be like!
