> 24 hourI absolutely LOVE this product!! I have been accused of being Clark W. Griswold with my Christmas lights. I have exterior lights on four different circuits with a WiOn on each circuit, and I can control the on and off times down to the minute. I can program them to come on mulitple times during a 24-hour period and can even select days on which the lights will come on or stay off. I can control it remotely through the app on my smartphone even while Im away from the house and not directly connected to my home wifi. Set up is easy with the provided instructions. I HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone wishing to precisely control on and off times of outdoor electrical items.

> 24 hourBought two of these in Nov 2016 for outdoor lighting and fountain control (one for each). Getting ready to order another to control additional lighting were adding. As I recall, the setup was a little tricky. Had to read the instructions carefully to connect it with wifi, then with Alexa. But its pretty amazing to just tell Alexa to turn on the patio lights, or turn on the fountain and voila! Its on. Guests love it. Smartphone app works perfectly too. Highly recommend

> 24 hourThis is a really good product for the price. I got mine at a very low price as a Lightning Deal, but even at the regular price its cheaper than any indoor single tap Wi-Fi plug. Really simple to set up and use. Plugged it in, loaded the WiOn app, discovered the device, then added it to Alexa with the name Christmas Lights. Plugged my outdoor Christmas lighting into it, and voila, I could tell Alexa to turn on the Christmas Lights. Worked perfectly every time! (I would intentionally forget to turn them on when my grandson was coming over, so he could tell Alexa to turn them on--he was quite entertained by that.)

> 24 hourI tried four of these things (one from Amazon, three from my local Menards). They need to be within about 10 feet of an access point to be even semi-functional. This appears to be an internal antenna issue with these devices specifically rather as other smart plugs I own do not have these issues. If you happen to be close enough to a wireless access point for a Wion Plug to connect and operate in a Smart fashion, youll find out that the Wion App and Alexa Smart Devices will both report that these devices are irregularly rather than constantly available, even under an ideal condition. Of the four devices I tried, one was completely nonfunctional. It never powered on or powered any attached devices. A second one refused to enter pairing mode and could not be configured. Two more would only connect irregularly and of those two, one would shut down after operating for about three minutes. It felt like it might have been overheating. All four were tried both indoors, within about 1 meter of open air from a commercial-grade access point; and outdoors, where they were 2.5 and one standard wood-and-drywall home construction wall from the same commercial access point. For a device that is purportedly design for outdoor use, I found these to be objectively bad. Half of the devices I tried wouldnt even consistently operate as simple power outlets! Dont buy these.

> 24 hourCorrection! I restarted(rebooted) my router and like magic all devices reappeared on my app. Hope this is helpful to others. Today two years after purchase all 5 of mine are none functioning. Interesting they all went out at the same time. Tried reset as instructed, but will not connect to my router. All other devices, Nests cameras and all other wifi devices work. Worked great when it worked. Hope I can find a better quality and reliable brand. Very disappointed!!

> 24 hourNowhere in the description of this or their website does state what you find out when reading the instructions: you cannot control the two outlets individually. Whats the point of having 2 outlets on this then? 2019: I have 2 of these now and theyre not bad. They do the job. I just wish that it would have stated beforehand that you can not control each of the 2 outlets individually.

> 24 hourThis is the second Wion outdoor plug I purchased. Over 1 year ago the first one installed with out a hitch and works great. The timer function (dusk to dawn with 20 minute offsets) is easy to set up. The distance it receives the wifi signal is impressive - it is mounted on my dock and easily picks up the WIFI signal from the house more than 100 feet away. The second one was a nightmare to set up. First I had the problem with naming the plug with a name longer the 5 characters. Thanks to all the Amazon reviews I figured that out. Next I used different amazon account for each plug because I forgot which account I used on the first plug 1 year ago. Even with that mistake, the WION app found both plugs but Alexa could only find one plug. The fix was easy, put both plugs on the same amazon account in the WION app. Next I disabled the WION skill in the Alexa App, then I re-enabled the skill and signed on to the Amazon account. Then Alexa was able to find both plugs. I normally would not give 5 stars to something with such limited customer support - but these are well engineered and easy to set up if you dont use a name longer than 5 characters and make the mistake of using two different amazon accounts. I have smart home devices from Leviton, iHome, Insignia(Best Buy), Amazon brand, Ecobee, and others. I think these plugs are some of the best designed, best operating and easy to install. Its too bad the traps in setup are only documented in Amazon reviews ...

> 24 hourTLDR; App is terrible and no support from manufacturer, but works okay via voice control and timer as long as you have wifi network that broadcasts separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz SSIDs. Will NOT work if you have a network that has a single SSID for both bands (e.g. Google WiFi and many mesh networks) Full review: I used two of these switches for about 10 months. As long as you have a WiFi network with a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID it will work, though the app is by far the worst app of all the smart device apps I have (out of ~10). Assuming you do get it setup and dont make any changes to WiFi settings it works well enough on a timer and with Alexa. After switching my WiFi network to Google WiFi, can no longer do the setup to connect switches to the network. There is no support from the manufacturer so you cant actually get help from them. Have gone over 3 weeks of emailing support contact without a response. In doing my own trouble shooting and research it seems that the device is not capable of working on any network where both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands are broadcast using the same SSID. I even tried forcing my phone to be connected to WiFi on the 2.4GHz band in order to do the setup (had to turn off nearby Google WiFi puck so I connected to the 2.4GHz band from a router farther away), but this still did not work. Very frustrating because the app does not provide any feedback or really show anything - there are no settings or other things you can try within it. It seems like an app that was created by a complete novice as a minimum viable product and has not been touched since. In my home smart devices including multiple Alexa echos, Google Home, Phillips Hue, TP Link, WeMo, Ecobee, Ring, FDT View, Amazon Cloud Cam.... all worked seamlessly with transition to Google WiFi, with these WiOn switches being the only problematic ones.

> 24 hourWorking well. I’m getting ready to order my third. WiFi range is good. One is in a crawlspace under the house. Even next to a steel beam, it’s connecting to WiFi well. Instructions on setting up and controlling second unit could be better. I found help on an online video. To adjust second or additional units, you have to shift the devices icon to the leftmost position on your display. Once you know to do that, it’s simple to set up. I have it set up on a non-broadcast WiFi network. That can be tricky with some devices, but not this one.
