> 3 dayGreat idea. Works great when finally working. The Good: I can control various outdoor lights with the 4 devices I purchased. with the wion app and alexa. Worked through the snow we received in NY this weekend. Now that they are set up I really like controlling and scheduling outdoor lighting from anywhere. The Bad: Set up was a nightmare. Part of it was because I have a big property and had to assign different wifi networks to different wion devices and always check which had the strongest signal. The biggest problem was the instructions and the app. Sometimes the app didnt find any wifi. Or the app went out of set up. Then my android phone asked me if I wanted to stay connected to the wion device. Because this step wasnt in the app, I ignored it and never connected. I spent fruitless time resetting the wion to factory setting to try to connect.. Finally I instructed my phone to stay connected to the wion device and then connected promptly to wifi. The device plugs into a receptacle with a very rigid 90 degree plug, which made it impossible to put 2 wion devices directly into one receptacle. Dont plan on using 2 wion on one receptacle. The cord is very short and stiff, so it is hard to position with the plugs down to avoid water entry into the plugs. There are 2 outlets on the device. 3 would be more sensible. Im using 5Watt LED lights so power draw isnt an issue. In addition, the rim around the outlets is close so big outdoor plugs are a tight fit. In brief, poor industrial design and installation instructions, but a great concept and it seems to work well.

> 3 dayUPDATE: After three months I am still very happy with the devices. Worked through and rain and shine. And most importantly, someone finally figured out how to make them work with Alexa: Make sure when you name them use only ONE WORD such as Garage. If you do, Alexa will discover them and they seamlessly integrated into the Alexa experience. Use a phrase such as Garage Door, no dice. Amazing that the manufacturer was totally useless in helping to figure this one out. Ordered two, and I like them a lot. I use them for timed on/off of holiday decorations. While the units themselves work great, I am not impressed with the companion iPhone app. Not only a UI designed by a moron but the Amazon Echo integration is not working at all. I looked online, and I am not alone with that issue.

> 3 dayThis review is for the Wi-FI version of the outlet, NOT the standard remote control (non-Wi-Fi) version. An outstanding product. Unboxed, plugged in, connected to wi-fi, and was using the app on my phone in about ten minutes. Pros: * Easy to connect to wi-fi * Has a variety of settings that are easily accessed through the app on my iPhone: Programmable Timer, Countdown Timer, Astronomic Timer, Vacation Random, and Security Random. The Programmable Timer (a multi-day timer) is easy to set and adjust. * You can give a custom name to the device(s) that you are controlling. I called mine icicle lights. * Has two outlets. Its worth noting that the two outlets can not be controlled independently. Whatever settings you use for one outlet have to be used for the second outlet. * Has a simple on/off switch on the app so I can easily override the programmed settings. * A good value for the cost. Cons: * Havent found any so far. Setup: * MY WiOn 50049 Outdoor Wi-Fi Outlet (2 outlets), is connected to an Airport Extreme router. The WiOn app is installed on my iPhone 6s. Works very nicely. Used to connect my icicle lights to my wi-fi network. No more having to go up and down the stairs to turn them on and off or fiddling with a clunky digital timer or reprogramming the timer when the power goes out. One thing to note: When the app searches for the router, it can take a few minutes for it to find it, depending on the speed of your mobile device.

> 3 dayThe product works out of the box but only after I read the reviews here and a few resets did I get it working. Tips to get it to work with Alexa aside from naming it one word and reinstalling the app: Make sure the device is on the same network as Alexa, we have a guest network and I was really frustrated until I realized it was on the guest network not the main network Alexa was using. For some reason, I had to refresh the network list a few times before it showed up even though it was right next to the router.

Greater than one weekThe instructions leave a bit to the imagination, but after I figured out how to initially connect this thing to my router its been working flawlessly since. I use the Android app and have no issues. There is about a 10-30 second delay on turning the outlets on/off manually, but I can deal with that easily. Its in a very wet environment and exposed to all the elements so its holding up as advertised. Dont expect it to manage each of the two outlets independently. Both outlets turn on/off together. I would definitely buy another unit. Just be patient with the setup. Its probably not faulty - it just has faulty instructions.

> 3 dayI started building my smart home system with an outdoor Wi-on triple socket set for remotely controlling Christmas lighting. That device is still in use after three years and working well. The dual-channel device is similar quality and easy to connect to Alexa and the Wion app. As with other smart home products, your mileage may vary depending on the quality of your local wi-fi network. Local interference or obstructions can make the device not work as intended. Search Youtube to find videos on how to improve your wi-fi. In my case, I was able to add an outdoor weatherproof access point and that helps keep this product online and working.

Greater than one weekused on outdoor plug that controls a fountain. wanted to be able to turn off fountain remotely if I left for weekend, etc. and forgot to turn off. ( dont want to ruing pump with no water). Works great. App was easy to install on iphone and easy to connect to Wi-fi. would work well for Christmas lights too. Since I have a couple different home automation items I have combined them in their own folder on iphone so they are easy to find.

> 3 dayWith the current iPhone IOS 16.1 issues I downloaded the app to an iPad still with IOS 15.7.2 and was able to get my WION 50049s to connect. Its at least a temporary fix.

Greater than one weekI have had this working over the winter to turn on the outside lights on my patio. The construction of the outlet is pretty good, it connected right up and had zero issues working with the amazon alexa. The reason I gave it three stars is the app. The outlet has been deleted from the app 3 times already on it own. All of a sudden alexa says the device is not responding and it is because the outlet is no longer recognized as a device in Wions app. I have to go back out and set the outlet up again, then put it back in the alexa app and everything works again. Its extremely annoying, but I guess if I would have spent a little more I wouldnt have to reset my outlet every so often.

> 3 dayAt its core it works, but there are a lot of hang ups with this unit which is why I am searching for a replacement. Getting the wi-fi connected is a bit of a process. You will need a little technical ability to get it set up. Once it is set up control from the app is pretty simple. The wi-fi on this unit is very flaky. We have a number of power outages in my neighborhood and its a crap shoot if this will connect once power is back up. Sometimes it connects with no problem on its own, sometimes I have to pair it with the wi-fi again while its still in its normal location, sometimes I have to unplug it and take it upstairs near my router for it to pick up the wi-fi again. Have been dealing with this for a while with this unit but now I am over it and looking for a replacement.
