Greater than one weekI first purchased one of these nifty little devices to control a table fountain located on my patio table and to my surprise it worked great! So I ordered two more, one for another fountain in my backyard, and one for the mister pump for the patio misters. All three work flawless. The app doesnt always recognize all three timers right away while your device is using mobile data, closing and reopening the app solves this problem. When at home and this happens switch your device to wifi if its not already and all three will appear instantly. Overall for the price the technology and convience these devices provide, the little app problem is minor and is easily overlooked in my opinion. Great job Woods products for another innovative worth while line of devices! I have ordered the indoor power strip to monitor power consumption of my entertainment center. I will write an updated review when I receive this product and give it some time to prove itself.

Greater than one weekThis 15A outlet is Wi-Fi controlled so I can turn it on an off using an app on my phone. I can also control it using my voice with Amazon Alexa and if my network goes down for some reason I can control it with an onboard switch. A great and versatile addition to my life.

> 3 dayEasy to program and it works well. I have two of them in my two houses, each run on different wi-fi/internet, I can control both from my Samsung Android very well. I like the Timer that I can add any day/time for start and end. Do not have by dates though, but I do not need programming by date either. If you have your network name hidden, then you need to type in the network name (and the pwd) on the WiOn apps so that it can find your network. Thats is the only difficulty I ran across.

> 3 dayWorks great. I use it to turn on the block heater for my diesel pickup. My only problem has been between the chest freezer and block heater on the circuit it adds just enough amps to the GFI that it will trip sometimes. Not sure if its because of the extra plug connection in the mix, some corrosion on the plugs involved, or the tiny amount of power this thing draws. Gonna clean up the plug ends and put dielectric grease on them to see if it helps. If not Ill go pick up a GFI with a higher current rating.

> 3 dayI tried four of these things (one from Amazon, three from my local Menards). They need to be within about 10 feet of an access point to be even semi-functional. This appears to be an internal antenna issue with these devices specifically rather as other smart plugs I own do not have these issues. If you happen to be close enough to a wireless access point for a Wion Plug to connect and operate in a Smart fashion, youll find out that the Wion App and Alexa Smart Devices will both report that these devices are irregularly rather than constantly available, even under an ideal condition. Of the four devices I tried, one was completely nonfunctional. It never powered on or powered any attached devices. A second one refused to enter pairing mode and could not be configured. Two more would only connect irregularly and of those two, one would shut down after operating for about three minutes. It felt like it might have been overheating. All four were tried both indoors, within about 1 meter of open air from a commercial-grade access point; and outdoors, where they were 2.5 and one standard wood-and-drywall home construction wall from the same commercial access point. For a device that is purportedly design for outdoor use, I found these to be objectively bad. Half of the devices I tried wouldnt even consistently operate as simple power outlets! Dont buy these.

> 3 dayI had a similar unit for Xmas lights control and couldnt find it. I went to order another since I didnt have the time look through all the stuff in our garage (its there somewhere). I found these units on AMZ and they were the half the price of my other unit, so I said what the heck order two of them. I figured if they didnt work, I would return them to AMZ with their ironclad guarantee. Didnt have to, worked as described and quite happy with them. These units do not require a hub and you install them with your router. Havent quite figured out they do other then the units first power up as a router and then you connect and they become a pass through to your regular router. I have other devices that use this method and it seems a bit odd but it works. Either way, no hub or setting up a network account with someone. They have been in for several days not and work great. I now have a very interesting Networks, my hub system, Wifi bulbs using a network account to store schedule and settings and now these devices. As long as I can keep it straight as to what device belongs to which network, should be good.

05-06-2025Lets just say I have wasted an hour trying to get it to work. Customer service helpfully sent me this email information which should have been included in the original instructions. Since I dont know how to disable my 5 GHZ band on my router (installed by my cable company) and am tired of working on this, I will return it. USES BAND WIDTH: 2.4GHz Band width if 5.0 or higher will not connect. Check your router settings, try resetting your router. If your router has dual band width then you will need to disable the higher. Here are some troubleshooting suggestions for you to consider. For initial set-up be within. 3 ft. of your router. Also, you need to look in your phone settings in data usage – allow permission for WiOn app to use data. With the WiOn device hard-wired or plugged in, the process to add a WiOn device is: 1. Go into your phones SETTINGS 2. Then WI-FI settings 3. Look for a new network named ECO### and connect to it NOTE: IF IT SAYS CANNOT FIND INTERNET – JUST MOVE ON 4. NEXT STEP: (this is when you open WiOn app) (Note: if it does not find the router then hit the + button on your WiOn app to add your router) Follow the on-screen directions to add your country, zip code/area code, name of router(this is name of your network) and Wi-Fi password, your phone will then attach that WiOn device to your local network, the new device will now be listed on the main screen of the app and ready to use. If it does not connect: Delete the WiOn app and reinstall it. NOTE: IPhone users must go to app store to install new app not the app that is stored on the Cloud. Then once it is reinstalled go into your iphone settings (not the WiOn app settings), go to WiFi and see if a new network called “ECO” followed by some numbers appears. If it does, connect to that network and follow the onscreen instructions, which should ultimately lead you into the WiOn app and your device will appear.

> 3 dayIve had this unit for a while and all of a sudden stopped connecting. I went on the WIOn website and selected support. A chat window opened. After some back and forth dialogue and correction steps (which did not work) the agent said that they would charge me $55 to correct the issue because they are a third party...and WiOn does not have customer support. What?!? No idea whats going on. I can but a whole new unit for that, and the idea that one would pay to get basic customer support from the vendor is ludicrous. Beware.

Greater than one weekBought two of these in Nov 2016 for outdoor lighting and fountain control (one for each). Getting ready to order another to control additional lighting were adding. As I recall, the setup was a little tricky. Had to read the instructions carefully to connect it with wifi, then with Alexa. But its pretty amazing to just tell Alexa to turn on the patio lights, or turn on the fountain and voila! Its on. Guests love it. Smartphone app works perfectly too. Highly recommend

> 3 dayGreat purchase. For the price of not much more than a typical outdoor-rated timer, I was able to get this WiOn. Ive been using it extensively for the past month to control my outdoor Christmas lights. It took less than 10 minutes to figure it out and get everything working with my lights on a timer. Remote access through the app is super simple and works with no discernible lag via Wi-Fi or cellular connection (I am running the Android version of the app). The only negative is that I dont think this can be controlled by other popular app-based controllers (WeMo, etc.), but I could be wrong. Also, I have not yet tried using this with my Amazon Echo devices to test Alexa support, but I know that it is supported.
