> 3 dayThese things are great, as are most Wyze products, and priced right. A must have for holiday lighting. Set times for lights to come on and forget about them. If you need to turn them on or off manually, they can be controlled in the app.

16-11-2024I purchased a singular plug and the setup was very easy and I loved it so much I bought another package of 2. If you have an Alexa this is so easy to control on/off of any device plugged into it with just voice command! Well worth the money.

> 3 dayEDIT: Gave it one last shot before returning it, rebooted and powered on, deleted my component in Wyze phone app and redone the setup there, connected to my 2.4Ghz instead of 5Ghz and VIOLA! - communication/working with Alexa and features working. So, Ill chalk it up to user error this time and change my review to a positive. Setup can be a bit tricky if you are unsure but overall, you will get it going. ..... I could not get Alexa to turn this plug on and off. Drops out my network and I have a clear line of site from it to the router. I reset it up and did everything again and still nothing, now Alexa doesnt even see it anymore. Setup is just iffy. Cannot even download the app to your PC. Disappointed.

> 3 dayEasy to setup and use, but God help you if you need customer support. I was double charged (~$100) for annual monitoring, and after numerous exchanges (each time with a different person), the best answer I could get was an offer of a $20 gift card to their online store to buy more of their stuff… I had to dispute the charges with my cc company.

> 3 dayIt works well with the wyze app and is easier to keep track and control many smart plugs than using many off brands with possible network security risks. The difference in price with the wyze smart plugs and off brands is small, but the risk of exposing your network through insecure apps is great. Some off brand timers dont give the option of syncing to local sunrise and sunset or easily setting daily schedules. These smart plugs are smaller than early generations of cheap import plugs without the security risk of sharing network access with a foreign power. The trick to initial setting up seems to be putting the phone in airplane mode and only using Bluetooth and wifi to connect to the wyze smartplug. I had spent a lot of time trying to link and even update these devices until I read the blogs complaining about this bug

> 3 dayIn app troubleshooter was literally no help, but Wyze support helped me get them working again. Would be better to just include the troubleshooting instructions than to send to a broken chatbot and then a link for support that doesn’t work and then go back and forth with a live agent. But they did help me get it working again.

Greater than one weekFirst off, I must say that I really, REALLY wanted to love Wyze and its products given that theyre a young, American start up company and sell their products at reasonable prices. Alas, theyre just not ready for prime time yet: -- I ordered 4 of these plugs and even though Im highly skilled in tech, it took hours of attempts, interactions with Wyze Wizards tech helpers and even after all of that, only two of the 4 plugs worked. -- Sadly, Wyzes tech help/customer service is extremely poor. Their Chat is not live, its all AI bot driven. If that cant help answer your question, you have a choice to either call or email. I gave up holding on the phone, the first time after 22 minutes and the second time after 37 minutes, and opted to email instead. It takes literally DAYS for the Wizards to email you back, only to discover that the Wizard either didnt read my question or didnt understand it, so I had to repeat it, going back and forth several times before getting a more qualified Wizard. All this for a product that literally takes 5 minutes to install when using other brands. Im very disappointed.

> 3 dayI have been using Wyze products with my Alexa setup. They have very good price and all of them are working great. These plugs are a fantastic way to automatically turn on/off all kinds of dumb devices. Christmas trees, garage door, dehumidifier, air cleaner, for security in the shop, etc. My favorite use was after knee surgery, the doctor recommended the use of a water cooling ice pack for 20 minutes every hour. Using one of this devices + Alexa, it would do the job even when I was sleeping. Highly recommended

> 3 dayThe only reason I am rating it 4 out of 5 instead of 5 was the fact it cannot connect to 5GHz Wireless networks. I know it states clear as day that its a 2.4GHz WiFi Smart Plug, but its 2022 and most products with WiFi capabilities should connect to 5GHz networks. The Smart Plug works as it should. You can power on any appliance or electronic device from anywhere you can get an internet connection. So far so good. I will be sure to add more after I do some thorough testing.
