I have now bought a scale and several plugs made by Wyze. They are seriously the most solid/reliable/easy to use connected products. I’m thinking about switching my entire house over to Wyze products. They have earned my trust.

Wyze came with a bang initially with camera but its expansion with products mushrooming has left it with poor quality. Well one of the smart plugs we purchased has stopped working after few months. Spoke with their support staff and they are clueless. We bought camera in 2019 and now they upgraded their firmware or whatever now the camera doesn’t recognize the wifi- After speaking with support staff , they provided a link where one gives authorization for a third party to access your account and try to gain information in why / whats going wrong however, if you agree this third party can have access to other information on your account or phone and that is why we decided not to proceed. I think Wyze needs to not mislead customers and think we have had enough of the Wyze’s products unless they change their mission/ vision. That being said- shop around - their are many more and better products on Amazon unfortunately some are very friendly initially but as their products/ business get popular their quality goes down.

These plugs are super easy to install, and the app makes it simple to set up schedules that can be applied to one or more devices. The main disadvantage (which dropped a star from this rating) is that if Amazon’s AWS servers go down, you can no longer communicate with these plugs, and they will not automatically change state with the schedule. Rather frustrating when you expect all your Christmas lights to turn on automatically and they don’t because the AWS servers have an issue.

Work great, does what it says. I use this for my wyze cam v3 which from time to time freezes and needs power cycling. So I just remotely turn the wyze plug off and then on rather than unplugging the camera.

My living room has two lamps for its primary lighting since it is not wired to any overheads. I was tired of always shuffling to each side of the couch and cranking each one to turn the lights on before sitting down. Most people have a switch wired to overhead lighting but I am unfortunately not one of those people. My solution to this first world inconvenience was to purchase these plugs in conjunction with a Google home mini for controlling both lamps. The plugs work flawlessly for my needs and I havent had any connectivity issues since setting this system up. My google home is a bit slow for voice recognition but as soon as the signal goes through, the plugs switch on power simultaneously and shed glorious light on my little room. Very pleased with my purchase!

the only negative feature is that it doesn’t work with 5G network.

The Amazon Alexa designation of Certified for Humans (CfH) is very important -- but this item does NOT meet the CfH standard and the CfH designation should be removed from the product description! CfH is great for two reasons: -- electric items that truly have this designation are (very) easy to add-on to Alexa via a 3-step process with no requirement to add a new app. But, perhaps more important, the architecture of CfH is simple, making for better performance and easier maintenance. If your intent is to use an item with Alexa, get a smart plug with CfH. With CfH the smart plug talks directly to the Alexa Echo. Without CfH an item must be registered to its own app -- in this case you have to install the Wyse App, create an account, install and test the plug with Wyse, and then bind the Wyse smart plug to your Alexa account. Later, when you use Alexa to Turn on the Plug -- the command must go to Alexa, then to the Wyse Cloud, then back to Alexa, and (finally) the command is sent to your plug. Not only does this add a delay to the execution of the command, but it also creates dependencies, and opportunities for failures. And, in the future, if you move or get a new modem or router, it will be much harder to re-configure a non-CfH smart Plug.

I have switched out all my Amazon Smart Plugs with Wyze plugs. Why? Because the Wyze plugs actually work much better with my Echo devices than Amazons own plugs do. Telling Alexa to turn on/off the Amazon plugs were hit and miss, I never knew how many times I was going to have to repeat the command. The Wyze plugs work first time, every time. Whatever is going on with the plugs, Wyze is doing it right and Amazon isnt. And yes, I went through all the steps with the Amazon plugs, they just werent reliable.

Compact Wi-Fi smart plug. Switches are a thing of the past.
