> 3 dayIt works well with the wyze app and is easier to keep track and control many smart plugs than using many off brands with possible network security risks. The difference in price with the wyze smart plugs and off brands is small, but the risk of exposing your network through insecure apps is great. Some off brand timers dont give the option of syncing to local sunrise and sunset or easily setting daily schedules. These smart plugs are smaller than early generations of cheap import plugs without the security risk of sharing network access with a foreign power. The trick to initial setting up seems to be putting the phone in airplane mode and only using Bluetooth and wifi to connect to the wyze smartplug. I had spent a lot of time trying to link and even update these devices until I read the blogs complaining about this bug

> 3 dayThe concept for the product is good and it is useful... while it works. Unfortunately, two out of 3 of the plugs I bought broke after a couple of months of use. I would recommend to stay away from this product at least for the foreseeable future.

> 3 dayStarted out in home automation using WeMo switches. While they work okay their range and setup process are not the greatest. I moved to WYZE for their cameras and have replaced most WeMo switches with WYZE but I needed a few more. These are on sale during Prime Days for such a great price I picked up four to finish my transition.

Greater than one weekSome of these are connected to devices so I can have small space heaters turn on/off by a schedule.. and others just give me a way to restart a device that maybe 60 miles away. Also had one on my coffee pot, so it would automatically turn off if I forgot, by gps location in Alexa.. Good way to make non smart devices better on the electric bill, or give you some peace of mind that you may have forgot t whatever small appliances on.. I can always double check from the app if that silly coffee mark was left on or not.

> 3 dayI have this in the back of my studio building. My router is in the very front and I was so impressed that it connect and works. I had my outside lights plugged into these and now I walk out to the car only to realize ( after Ive already locked up) that I left the lights on, I can turn them off from my car!

> 3 dayI have bought WYZE equipment previously and found it great. So I bought 3 color lightbulbs and 2 plugs. Of the plugs, the first failed totally. The second said it had to be updated - so I clicked update firmware - and it failed. This went on for 8 tries. I finally contacted customer support and they led me through a series of complicated steps that finally got it to work. Took about 2 hours. I went on the web and this seems to be a recurrent problem since August 2022 with no prospect of a fix. It is dumb to sell something that immediately has to be updated and cant be updated. Of the 3color lightbulbs. One updated sucessfully (hooray), one failed, and I finally got the 3rd to run, but I still cant get the firmware to update so I am stuck with obsolete firmware. So of 5 items, 2 are working, 1 sort of works, and 2 are in the tech recycling bin. And I wont ever buy WYZE again. I give it 2 stars because 2/5 actually work well.

> 3 dayInitially the plug was connected to my dual band 2.4 and 5 ghz mesh wifi. The mesh I thought was to manage any devices that connected at 2.4 ghz. Randomly, any of my Wyze devices would lose connection. Once I configured a guest network 2.4 ghz only and connected the cams and plugs to connect to the 2.4ghz network all is stable.

> 3 dayI love how I can control this from my app while at work! I leave my tiny dog home alone super early when it’s still dark, and I was sick of paying to leave my lights on all day. This works great so I can shut it off after a little while I’m at work. Alexa works great with it at home too!
